I disagree. I know people (in the south, west and north) who voted for him and think he is a complete ass clown now. Not saying that is a valid sample size, but neither is Trump's internal poll saying that he has 96% approval from republicans. (I received that poll, the question said "Trump is doing a great job: strongly agree, agree, other" were the choices)
It is likely going to be a Biden-Warren or Biden-Harris ticket, and either one is going to beat Trump. It really comes down to a few swing states, and Biden is polling exceptionally well in those states.
Trump lost the popular vote last time, and that was with very low voter turnout in the 18-29 age group. That group came out strong for democrats in 2018. They will come out strong in 2020, and down goes trump.

Trump refers to other countries as "shitholes". Supposed Christians cheer in support and laugh at the less fortunate.
Trump separates children from families for weeks to months at a time. The "family values" party cheers in support and mocks children in cages.
Trump revokes security clearance from a former CIA director and then threatens to do the same for anyone who criticizes him. The supposed "Anti-big government and freedom-loving" party cheers in support. (Funny how the anti-big government party all of a sudden loves a dictator)
Trump's attorney pleads guilty to committing federal crimes at the direction of the president. The "listen to cops and follow the law" crowd doesn't care.
Trump revokes press pass from an accredited and respected reporter due to negative reporting of him. The "I want my free speech protected so I can say whatever I want crowd" cheers in support.
Trump's daughter conducts government business with an unsecured personal account. The "lock Clinton up for her emails" crowd doesn't care.
Trump's border patrol throwing tear gas at women and children seeking asylum. The "goodhearted christian" crowd doesn't care and I assume supported this.
I think the least surprising thing about the Trump presidency is that he has exposed the Republican party as nothing but hypocrites. The question becomes, can you handle the truth?

I’m not arguing these things are right or wrong but it’s pretty easy to see he hasn’t kept his promises.
He touted his ability as a negotiator but has failed on a massive scale across the entire planet as far as trade deals go.
He’s even waging war on weather scientists and Fox News now. I can’t think of one ally (domestic or international) that he has actually built a stronger relationship with than before.
What qualifies him as “the best president ever” and what makes you so confident he will win?

I am old enough to remember when Trump said he could balance the budget. How is that going? We have the highest deficit in the country's history and it is only getting higher.
He can't (and you can't either) blame Congress. He had working majorities in the House and Senate for 2 years and failed to enact anything but a tax cut that clearly has not stimulated the economy or Trump wouldn't be pleading for interest rate cuts by the Fed. If the economy is so great, why cut rates?

I actually went to a Jay Inslee speech in Chicago that my friend invited me to. It was pretty boring, and of course it was different hearing a politician dismiss a lot of things I cared about. He did say that there were opportunities to reach across the aisle, which I appreciated. Then he dropped out a week later.
Anyway, Biden seems like one of the better options among the Democratic candidates. He's less of a demagogue on many issues, but that makes him unacceptable to many Democrats who would prefer someone more progressive. Unfortunately, the other relatively moderate candidates don't seem to stand a chance.

While I think Trump is an awful person who never should've been anywhere near elected office, a whole lot of this is tendentious. When you post something like this that relies on partisan interpretations of what's happened- or is happening- than the Trump-defensive types are just going to ignore you.

IMO, that is just symptomatic of who Trump is. He is basically lazy. He's never had to work a day in his life and he's not about to start now. He doesn't like to read briefings purely from a work standpoint. He likes them even less when they point out facts that don't agree with his predetermined opinion. He likes to shoot from the hip and doesn't like to be wrong. He won't change his opinion, he wants the facts to change to match his view.

I don't think he's lazy, I just think he's a product of the kind of political cynicism that got him elected, and which inculcates the belief that politics is all about rhetoric and drama, while politicians are all just talking heads. So the stuff he'll work on isn't the stuff that would keep him well-informed... and it also isn't what got him elected.
