OT:ASG moved out of Atlanta

Amazing you know the lines are gonna be long but rant about no food or drinks. Insinuating people of color can’t think for themselves enough to bring their own things is as racist as it gets.
No I said that’s why they put that in the racist law trump cult member.

Think I am taking the family for dinner to the sizzler. Their steak tips rock. Maybe sneaking in a few zimas. You are welcome to join us!
You lost me a Zima, but believe it or not....sizzler serves choice grade. Longhorn, outback , etc only serve it on occasion.

Every bit of this law is legal, unbiased, and fair.

Many pieces of this legislation were advocated by democrats in 2019 when Abrams lost the gubernatorial election in 2018.

And many of the pandemic efforts to make voting easier, have been adopted to continue.

What is horrible is how people twist all of this.... “reduces mobile collection of ballots”? No. There was no such thing until last year... so now it’s permanent, but they need to be located in fewer places because guess what... last year a few counties FORGOT where the hell they were and the votes were delayed.

Voter ID is racist? 99.7% of current registered voters already have some type of required ID on hand. Counties are giving out FREE paper photo ids for anyone who needs it and can prove residency... why? Because the old ID method was a signature... and if you signature didn’t match, your vote was called into question.

Photo ID is much easier and easy to obtain if you are a citizen and live in the state.

This whole thing is a ****ing farce and the narrow minded political goose steppers who perpetuate this embodiment of lies because of a political leaning will eventually push this country over the brink.

Facts don’t matter anymore.

No, they don't. It's really very frustrating.

Cool. Looks like I just got a whole bunch of time back in my summer this year since I won’t have to follow the Braves or MLB. And unfortunately for MLB, old white guy is their target market.

Honestly, is there a professional league that steps on their dick more than MLB? The strike, steroids, infighting during COVID and now this.
Don't be mad at the Braves... Braves organization does NOT agree with MLB on this...

It's laughable to suggest this is "unbiased". We can go through and talk about individual provisions of this bill, but it objectively makes voting harder and gives the Republican led legislature direct control over election results.

It was drafted and signed by only Republicans. It's not "unbiased".

The Braves are part of the MLB. Whether they agree or not they are abiding by it. If they truly were against it they would protest and take a stand. They won't and that make them just as guilty. A few meager words on a paper doesn't prove crap to me.

Also people of color have to wait 4 or 5 times longer in line to vote which is why no food or drink in line and this law makes it more accessible to vote in polling places in smaller counties but nothing to address the areas where most of the people of color live. Sad how racist this country still is.
Bill shit.

Part of this law is to address the long lines. It makes it a law to bring in more poll workers to keep people from having to wait more than an hour... and food and drink in line?

Shows you have been fed the ignorance on this one... the law limits food and drink being given out 50 yards from the polling place. 50 ****ing yards! Why? Because political groups were slapping voting slogans on water bottles and campaigning with food and water right in front of the polling place! That’s illegal in all 50 states.

Wanna feed folks a 4 course meal with a foot massage at 51 yards away? Go right ahead... and to suggest that someone can’t make it 50 yards without water... then vote online or absentee.

God I hate hypocrisy.

It was drafted and signed by only Republicans. It's not "unbiased".

It, objectively, wasn't unbiased or fair.

It makes voting by non citizens harder. Which is illegal for them to do anyway.

It is easier to vote in Georgia today than it was 4 years ago.

As a season ticket holder, I’m upset about this just like many of us. But how exactly do you propose the Braves “take a stand”? By not playing Games? The players want to play, many have incentivized contracts, and we’re a WS caliber team - that would do nothing but make things worse. Plus, it’s a PR nightmare if the team chose not to play.

Not much the Braves can do imo

You mean like every bill in Congress that's passing through on reconciliation these days in a nation that is roughly 50/50? They are openly saying they don't care what Republicans want because they aren't getting it. Give me a break with your selective analysis.

Your second statement is undoubtedly true. And that's good. But it can be easier, and we should strive to make it as easy as possible (with security, of course, also in mind).

But your first statement is missing the point. I'm not talking about voter IDs, I'm talking about pulling back the number of drop boxes, limiting drop box availability to work hours (potentially), eliminating mobile voting centers.

By doing all of those things, you are making it more difficult to vote.

Selective? Find me saying the bills coming out of the house are "unbiased" once.

They could at least speak out against it.

So then they really don't disagree with it enough to do anything about it? Ok. They won't but I as an individual, who watches and also purchases tickets and merchandise, will take a stand and boycott the MLB as a whole. That includes my beloved Braves.

I replied with a few examples to @Joe Cobb .

It's not a partisan statement. This bill makes it harder to vote in 2022 than it was in 2020. And I don't agree that the security concerns necessitate taking away the multiple innovations that were implemented to make voting easier in 2020.

The gaslighting on both sides is obfuscating the debate.

Voting should be easy and secure. You don't have to chose. This debate is about whether the 2020 election necessitates laws that increase security and lessen accessibility. I say it doesn't. You can have secure AND accessible elections.

Look at Colorado.

This situation got "out of hand" when the Republicans stated that it was a crime to eat or drink water while in line to vote. Conversations and reading anything in the bill "just went out of the window "after that and rightfully so.

If the law only required voter ID for absentee ballots it have flown by with much less scrutiny.

Instead it, among other things, criminalizes providing food or water to voters in line, shortens absentee ballot time, cuts ballot drop boxes in urban areas, and takes the Secretary of State's authority to oversee county elections officials - an elected position - over to the legislature to appoint a controlling commission of their choosing.

All these changes to a law that Republicans implemented in 2005 without any changes until the Big Lie and 2020 losses.
BS!!!

Kind of surprised there is no political thread on the attempted coup on the nations capitol by the Nation of Islam. Prayers go out to the families of the deceased and injured officers

NJ, NY, Delaware and several other states have more restrictive voting procedures.

But I haven’t seen/heard the left jump on those states, or push for boycotts or moving events

Everyone should just calm down - this will work itself out.......you have to have an ID to get medications (Covid vaccine). So those who don’t get vaccinated are gonna die soon (per some in media). So they won’t be around to vote in 2022 anyways

There were no drop boxes 4 years ago. They have reduced the number to make them more efficient and where people don’t forget them.

Literally this was a response to the pandemic and the law makes them permanent.

Fundamentals always kill me.

The ID to:
drive a car
get utilities
fly a plane
open a bank acct

are generally the same.

im an Independent and think most of Dems and Pubs are pretty selfish. They see through the eyes of their party and living in fear of constantly 1 upping the other and not the public good. When we stray away from the fundamental way we identify for services like mentioned above...... it’s complete garbage.

This shit isn’t hard. Anything that doesn’t generally resemble those normal functions, it’s 100% complete horseshit regardless who it favors.

good luck Georgia and meanwhile our global enemies laugh while we destroy ourselves.
