OT: NFL settles with Kaepernick and Reid

How are you overpaid when you aren’t getting paid?
He got paid for years to "under perform".......he was never abused by police. Like I said he should divide up the settlement and give it to people that may have been abused by the police.
Do you think he will? Of course not. He has probably never even been in a minority neighborhood.
He is what you would call "white privilege" acting like he has been abused.

You should probably stop being lazy and read up on the things he’s done. But I’m sure you don’t care so you continue to spew the same things over and over hoping they come true even though they won’t.

He wasnt good enough to get an offer......
That’s why Elway wanted to trade for him before he kneeled but then wouldn’t sign him after.

And Again we can go back to Nathan Peterman being a starter in this league to show you why what you said is dumb, but we discussed that awhile ago in this thread.

Elway wanted to trade for Kap before he went 2-16 in his last 18 games as a starter.
Peterman stinks as well but is only a 2nd year player. I doubt he makes it past year 3 unless he shows tremendous growth as a player.

Elway didn’t sign him because per his words “he had his chance to be a Bronco.”

Edit: also your 2-16 is wrong. But he did go 1-10 in his last 11.

He also completed 60% of his passes. Averaged 250 total yards a game. Had a 4/1 TD/IT ratio. And also ran for 2 scores.

He happened to also play for the team that had the worst defense in the NFL

That’s correct. His chance to be a Bronco was prior to or during the beginning of the stretch where he went 2-16 in his last 18 starts.

No. Again he wasn’t 2-16. But it was still bad.

Elway tried to trade him prior to that stint. Kap wouldn’t take a $12 million pay cut. He stayed with the 49ers. That season happened. After nobody was signing him as a FA, Elway was asked why he never signed him and his response was “he had his chance.” It was not prior with him saying that.

He's a nuisance because the football media has been talking about him for 2 years and he's not even a football player anymore....and even when he was he wasn't a very good one. I get why the NFL settled but his ability as a player was certainly not evidence that he was being colluded against. There must have been some emails or texts that he had acquired where owners or GM's made comments about not bringing him in because of his beliefs.

Well that does not make sense! If you get why they settled, then there must have been evidence of collusion otherwise the NFL would not have settled...Evidence Of Collusion, Yes!

It's been said time and time again yet it's somehow lost in every Kaep thread. He was offered jobs, he just thought he should make more. That's not collusion, it's erroneously thinking you have more leverage in a negotiation than you do.
If this is true, Why Did The NFL Settled This Lawsuit, Again Why? Why?

Here’s my thing...NO NFL TEAM SHOULD HAVE TO HIRE ANYBODY THEY DON’T WANT ON THEIR TEAM!

He was a backup (at best) & a sideline distraction...why would anybody want that poison in their locker room?? He didn’t get blackballed...it’s a privilege to play in the league, not a right! I’m sure there are a lot of guys out there right now not on NFL rosters that believe they deserve to be there...can they all sue too?? Hell, can I sue? Why can’t I be there?? I think it’s a conspiracy smh
Yep Jimbo your comments are consistent with your avatar! However, if no collusion or conspiracy; Why Did The NFL Settle? Also, you realize the NFL Players Union have a Major Say So In Players/Owners interactions, it is called Collective Barganing! Players kneeling during the National Anthem Did Not violate this! Signed 22 years US Navy Honorably Retired!

Appreciate your service!

My only guess as to why the NFL paid is that they have more money than they have sense & would rather just pay Kaepernick to go away...

But a washed up backup who was just trying to make a spectacle of himself would not have had a place in my organization either. Playing in the NFL is a privilege, not a right & the juice was just not worth the squeeze with a guy like Kaepernick...guys like him are a dime a dozen.

He absolutely was 2-16 in his last 18 starts. I am clueless as to why you’re trying to argue this.

Well my friend, I appreciate Your Guess, but the NFL is major business which leads me to believe they were caught & the highly paid lawyers wouldn’t advise them to just settle. We can agree to disagree but businesses don't survive by just giving money away!
Finally, have you seen the qb(a) in the NFL recently? To think that Kaepernick is not better & or deserves a chance over 2/3 of them is not realistic!

If he asked for less like them he would get a chance.

Why would I want to waste my time reading up on the guy when there is much better material to read....Let me know when he donates the money, id read that article

So you're mad at the media not him? Are you mad at him for feeling blackballed or do you believe he wasn't blackballed?

Also, he doesn't have to be better than Brady, Brees, etc. Just be better than the clowns getting hired before him.

Careful - someone could have said the same thing about the Texans signing Deshaun Watson vs bringing CK on.

Now you and I both understand that DW is a much greater talent, ~8 years younger, and is someone you can build a franchise around, but your average SJW probably doesn't get that. And that's just one example of many possibles. Some may be head scratchers but a lot of those were, as I understand it, "camp arms".

Point is in the NFL, there are many reasons why personnel decisions are made. Upside, fit in an offense, locker room fit, public perception (gaining/losing fans), cost.........all kinds of stuff.

Of all sports fans, Clemson fans should understand how important the locker room morale is and that a player has to fit the culture of the program. I don't know CK and can't speak to his character but the point is that just because he can throw and/or run doesn't mean he will be a fit with a program.

Don’t you love how black and white liberals can call a black republican a racist?

Again, regardless of political affiliation, they are wrong. People throw around this word and tag people with it without having a full appreciation for its true meaning.

He was the backup to Blaine friggin’ Gabbert! Let me repeat, BLAINE GABBERT! Kaepernick just wasn’t that great & again, NFL organizations do not owe a job to ANY player...it’s a privilege, not a right.
And here’s the other thing...Kaepernick was the one who opted OUT of his contract for free agency...the 49ers didn’t release him. He had a job & quit.

I wasn’t disputing that. Tell me what I posted was false and I’ll call you a liar.
No need, I don’t know what I stated that claim your false, thus will just apologize as I have chosen not to review all the discussions & give Respect!

Ok but Did The NFL Settle? Also, to state he was not given an opportunity because he is/was garbage, well Odviously The NFL disagree, They Settled! Also everything you huffed & puffed about is Respected, However, The NFL Settled, But Your Opinion Is Respected & Acknowledged!

They may have settled but it was to make him go away more than anything...the NFL has more money than they do sense sometimes anyway...
But I imagine if there is some type of large settlement, Kaep probably had to sign something agreeing to keep quiet...esp if there is some pathway back to the NFL for him...if he did sign something like that, then he’s a sellout & it basically proves that his whole kneeling escapade was nothing but a publicity stunt.

My friend, the only thing factual in your Respected Comments is “The NFL Settled”, thus I salute the players! By the way I support their cause 100%!

I don’t. I support the men & women in blue that put their lives on the line every day to protect us. I don’t support thugs & their thug buddies who are always on alert with their govt issued phones antagonizing cops in order to capture their “gotcha” moments...& I don’t feel bad for people that get caught up in the crossfire if they are surrounding themselves with lawbreaking thugs either. Cops have just as much right to protect themselves as the unruly citizens (or non citizens) they are attempting to arrest have.

I support cops the same way I support our military....100%. Kaepernick’s cause was just to put himself in the spotlight. I guarantee, for him to get paid, he had to sign a gag order of some sort...& that makes him nothing more than a sellout to the “cause”

I don’t know who questioned your support or not for police officers (I have many family members) & members of the military (for which I served, had uncles & cousins killed in Korea & Vietnam & cousin killed in Iran Marine Barracks) but happy you do!
My support & I will always defend the rights of Peaceful Protest, it is the American Way! Also, I have problems with The Self Described Americans who cannot respect such!
By the way me with my American Values & service can fully understand Mr. Kaepernick protest: raised in Jim Crow South, Spat on, police abuse & denied opportunities in the military because of the color of my skin! Yes there are some Bad/Racist/Non-Americans in position of authority & must be weeded out!
Bitter, oh heck no, we are the greatest country in the world. Blessed family, business good, vote, protest & love all!
The NFL Settled, Period & Fact!
