the racism that exist today is miniscule to the racism of 50 plus years ago.

That said, if at this stage in your life you can't think of inherited advantages applicable to "whites", then nothing I can post about this topic will convince you othwerwise.
It's also just as ignorant for a minority to think that only minorities are Opressed. Trust me it happens to all races. It's not all a race problem but a social economics problem. I've seen white homeless people get treated worse than any blacks I know. The solution to it is to quit acting like you or the only one being victimized. You cant go into a conversation playing the victim, but instead go in wanting to educate and learn. I'm tired of everyone trying to only worry about their best interest because to improve you have to listen to all sides. Are they problems in this country, yes but is it as bad as its being portrayed, no.
Which is the case for minorities in likely every other nation on earth. Life isn't fair. What is your suggestion to remedy this issue?

Yeah, unfortunately you're wasting your time. I got into an argument a few months back on a thread where a vast majority of posters were arguing that white privilege wasn't a thing. Like, nobody is even telling you you have to do anything about it. Just simply acknowledge that white privilege absolutely exists. But these posters wouldn't budge. Even my most conservative real-life friends understand the basic concept of privilege.
OK, is this racism? Im from the rural south and a minority by a long shot growing up in classes where 90% of my classmates were of another race.
I was called many things because of my race. Even had a few instances where kids would approach me that I'd never seen before, call me a name and punch me (this is how I lost my first tooth).
Would you call this behavior racist?
What I'm saying is that they are racist in every walks of life but to think that only one race is being targeted is laughable. My question is why does everything have to be a white or black issue? There have been strides made in this country to better relations but they are being destroyed by the near sighted views of groups of people. If you want change quit playing the victim and help be part of the solution.

Im in my 40s now and im a full time student which is the dam toughest thing I have attested so far. I took a A&P211 test yesterday and I feel I failed probably in the 60s. Instead blaming the professor which he did surprise us a little"...." Im studying harder today for the next exam because (failure) is a very tough pill to swallow. I will refuse to leave this earth without the proper education that will give me a fair advantage of accomplishing what I feel I deserve. People who are afraid of change will always be a victim and I will refuse to be one.
I grew up in the rural south and seen whites being treated the same way. Sorry but it happens to every race and until we recognize this we will never change it. We have to educate our youth and not preach hate to them to change the world we live in. We need to quit letting race baiters tell us what we should think but instead think for ourselves.

You're deflecting the original point of my post - which was to point out the lunacy in the suggestion that somehow racism doesn't exist or that whites don't have inherent advantages or that racism doesn't occur among well educated minorities.
I'm only 27 and know I have a lot to learn about the world, I do know that racism exists, and it's more prevalent than many ITT suggest. I also know that I do not have all the answers pertaining how to address race problem in this country. That's a very complex problem and answer that many scholars and policy experts and national leaders are trying to address everyday on a national scale or in their local communities.
I have some thoughts, and I have tried to be part of the solution since I was a high school student and continue to try to address racial disparities daily directly or indirectly.
My suggestions - whether they work or not - won't motivate you to do anything to address the issue. So let's not pretend that anything I say on this board will change the issue or that you are genuinely trying to learn about racism in this country.
This feels like you're trying to lay what you consider to be a really clever trap.
The answer is that yes, it's racist. No one race has a monopoly on being racist and no race is immune from being the victims of racism. In this country, though, it seems that minority races tend to be disproportionately affected by racism than the majority race.
I really want to hate some in this thread. But Jesus, and more recently Dabo, asked me to love you despite your mental handicaps. So I continue to try...
I'm not exactly sure what it means these days...
However, I do know that liberals (such as yourself) use "racist" to label any & every person that doesn't think just like you...

I commend you for being in school and pursuing higher education. In all seriousness, it must be super challenging and stressful to do what you're doing.
That said, though I sympathize with your situation, I'm not sure what that has to do with racism in this country. Are you implying that monitority kids yell racism when they don't get the grades they want?
I went to medical school with 6 black kids in my class of 100. They are all my close friends. Not one time did they play the race card when they didn't get the grade they wanted.
I volunteered teaching mathematics in Durham and New Haven. Not once did a black student I tutored play the race card for a poor grade.
I do wish you well in your studies. Keep your head up and good luck on your next exam
