Serious tariff question

Assuming it's not being modified in Mexico/Canada/insert any other country, and is just passing through due to logistics reasons, then yes they'd pay the Chinese tariff. If it's stopping off in Mexico/Canada/etc to be assembled/disassembled/modified/etc then it will pay whatever that country's tariff is upon being exported to the US.

At least that's what my old roommate said who works in international freight - i had the same question.
Too bad she wasn’t President during the Obama years, maybe she could’ve stopped him and Holder from arming the cartels even more. SMH 🤦

An easy Google search will show you all the products Canada charges us a 25% tariff on. Also it's called leverage. If a friend is not being a good friend than take their good bag away and watch them come to the table. Also Canada does not spend near enough on their military they just let us saps do it.

It's common sense that the tariffs should be reciprocal on the same products. Oh yea, common sense skipped a few generations.

If you dont buy that product there is no inflation. If American Companies are charged a tariff in a foreign country they are at a competitive disadvantage and rely on the federal government to correct the unfair markets.
If you don't buy that product because you can no longer afford it, that doesn't help either. Tariffs will drive up prices and combined with the windfall tax cuts, which will put more money in the pockets of corporate America, demand will go up and so will inflation. This plan makes no sense, especially since the economy was already roaring and inflation was manageable.

Are you familiar with history and what happens when you start a trade war?

Hmmm ....[checking your predictions in your posting history]... Ok, if you are predicting a trade war, then we are going to be fine.

Tariffs spark Exciting Times for Ohio Steel Plant

President Donald Trump’s tariffs will be a boon for an Ohio-based steel mill and its employees, the CEO of JSW Steel USA, a subsidiary of a massive India-based steel manufacturer, told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview.

"It's a good piece of the formula that results in our company increasing utilization in the next 12 months, from 68% to probably 84%, and beyond that in years to come. So it's a very exciting time for us," JSW Steel USA CEO Robert Simon told Fox News Digital of Trump’s tariff plan in a phone interview on Thursday evening.

Just to be clear, these are the tariffs Canada imposed on the USA for years, even before Trump ran his first mandate :
Dairy Products:
Milk: 270%
Cheese: 245%
Butter: 298%
Other Agricultural Products:
Chicken: 238%
Sausages: 69.9%
Barley seed: 57-57.8%
Industrial Goods:
Copper: 48%
Aluminum: 45%
Steel: 25%
Consumer Goods:
Cars: 45%
TVs: 45%
Eggs: 163%
Wheat: 94%
Bovine/Meat: 26.5%

We started the trade war. Most Canadian businesses are taxed heavily by the government and couldn't survive without imposing tariffs on the USA. This is the price of socio-communism.
