Because it is against our our laws, makes it harder for border agents to do their jobs, and immigrants were getting cut up in the wire. The current laws state that immigrants who make it to our border must be granted an asylum request. The great majority of them are turned back, but some are allowed temporary asylum.
This is the current law of the land. If you dont like it, call your senator or congressman and tell them to change the law.
