If this were that stock market it would be seen on the chart as a capitulation move.
We just elected the most corrupt criminal in presidential history, which gave him a free get out of jail card and now he's staffing his administration with a bunch of lawless ghouls, many of which have criminal prosecutions/investigations in their background.
The message is loud and clear - there is no such thing as right or wrong anymore and laws don't matter, so after dragging this man through hell for years simply to tarnish his father because he had the unmitigated gall to beat your orange clown, I say too bad, so sad. I think the President is dead wrong on this and I think it is a very bad move to pardon his son and sets a pretty awful precedent for the country. Presidents using pardons as favors for friends/family/loyalists is something that should stop.
The ones who applaud the pardon have no class, but prefer instead to make excuses for Hunter.
It wasn't Trump and it wasn't his son.
Now that he's nominated Kash Patel, all bets are off because it signals he has no plans to fairly and impartiallly follow the law, which means he probably would have come down even harder on Hunter who has already been drug through hell the last five years.

I have a daughter and son and will admit I most likely would pardon them under almost every imaginable circumstance.
Would it be the right thing.More than likely wrong under any circumstance.
Saying that I would more than likely do it and find myself in Joe Biden’s corner in pardoning his son.
So Joe it’s wrong, I would done it too and I don’t know how I would have handled the lying about not doing it up to the pardon.

Let me remind you that Biden could have fired the the US attorney investigating Hunter when he was elected but he let him continue for years. Let me also remind you that they had come to a reasonable plea deal, fitting for a first time offender who only had the gun for 11 days, that he never used, plus he had paid his back taxes in full two years before he was even indicted. But pressure from Republicans forced a turn of events that led Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel to probe the allegations more deeply.
You know damn well if this were Trump's son, he would have fired the US Attorney immediately and this matter would have been over on day one. Funny how you hold Democrats to a much higher standard than you do Trump.
