Tim Scott - Presidential Candidate

I do not see Tim Scott as presidential timber at this time. I do not see him as an America First man but rather as a man happy to be with the establishment and gain power in that wing . I do not see a lot of fire in him. He is a nice guy and would get rolled by the machine.

Met him many times Love the guys philosophy

Of course he and Trey Gowdy are tight

As much ad I like Tim the issue is can he put together the winning team

My problem this year is all the Republican candidates are pretty high quality as to character

Trump I put in a different category as the hate mob has defamed him so bad and he has taken the bait too much along with his punch back attitude turns me off somewhat

even with that I prefer Trump first DeSantis second

Then it gets tough as I am equally happy with everyone except Pence who I could support but would rather not

At the moment Trump gets my vote on winnability

And being white I am the racist white supremacist who believes in black folks like Tim Scott

We would let him in to the KKK meeting to wear the white bedsheet

That folks is tongue in cheek for you crazies who take everything seriously

All Tim Scott going to do is hurt Nikki Haley in SC primary and that will allow Trump to win it . Sad !

Nikki Haley is also with the machine. Trump will win the republican nomination unless they kill him. I do not think even being in jail will cause his support to wane.

The fact that you think that last line is a positive is so strange.

But yea. Odds are Trump wins the nomination. Then loses the general. Then we get 4 more years of dem leadership thanks to the voters who don’t understand that the ability to win the general is kind of important.

You have drank the kool-aid being given out by the establishment imo. We will see what happens.

I agree.

He drove millions of long-time voting Republicans to vote for a Democrat or third party - and continues to send more that way everyday. Helluva legacy.
He got more votes than any repub in history ever has and was walking to a runaway win at midnight. His last speech that night was questioning why it wasn't already called. Then millions of votes between 2am and 4am were dropped into the counts of the swing states after vote counting had officially been halted for the first time in history so I am highly skeptical of your thoughts on Trump.

Trump got 62M votes in 2016 and got 74M votes in 2020. Who the hell did he drive away?

Was it establishment kool-aid that resulted in Trump backed candidates in swing states bombing in 2022? Lake in AZ, Oz in PA lost to horrible opponent, Walker in GA lost and significantly underperformed the R governor.

The writing is on the wall. Trump is unelectable.

I'm not drinking that kool-aid. Continuation of 2020 strategy in swing states by the establishment. I will admit that I am somewhat discouraged as the system seems stacked. You apparently think everything is legit and honest and that's your right of belief.

It’s not about thoughts and feelings it’s about facts and evidence. You know, stuff you don’t actually have about the election fraud fantasy you keep propping up. Trump already lost in a landslide. Why not make it a twofer

So tell me what you think is going to change in those swing states he lost in the last potus election that will allow him to win those states? Whether you think he just actually got fewer votes or that the establishment and dems cheated him, which of those factors do think changes this time?

How people can think the system is legit despite clear corruption in front of their eyes is beyond me.

I think what's changed is the pathetic performance of Biden and the Democrats. Also, the acknowledgement that the deep state has been working against the will of the people.

You are a freaking idiot if you don't understand how that happened. I swear to everything that's holy that you can't possibly not understand how mail in votes work. You just can't be that damn dumb. Seriously. Just stop.

Every. Single. Media Source, Election Prediction, Or anyone who knew anything about elections told people that the votes would come in as they did. It wasn't a surprise unless you were stupid and paid no attention.

The system isn't stacked. He sucks as a candidate and sucked as a President. Even Tucker Carlson said his presidency was a disaster. Why in the world would anyone want more of that garbage?

I am honestly not sure, but I support Trump for President and am holding out hope for a better outcome. I cannot see how Biden cannot lose a large amount of the support he apparently received with the historically poor performance he has delivered.

Tim hits the nail on the head. Would love to see him get some traction, but Trump has just got too big of a head start. Would make a great Vice President which could prepare him for 2028

I always roll my eyes at statements like these…he’s saying these things as if they aren’t currently the reality. Yeah, you have to go to work to make money, everyone understands this and lives in that reality. Now, how about addressing the deeper issues of wages and worker’s rights. Yeah, if you take out a loan you pay it back, everyone lives in that reality. Now let’s talk about America’s staggeringly absurd healthcare system that drives people into debt because they have to take low wage jobs with few rights.

Are you a socialist? Sounds like it.

I think if you look around the world its pretty easy to see that, at least in some facets of society, democratic socialism is a net positive for the vast majority of people. This is especially true in healthcare, to the point that its pretty mind bottling anyone can still hold up the current state of the American healthcare system as anything other than a disaster when compared to most other developed countries. Its getting to the point where arguing against socialized healthcare just makes you a mustache twisting cartoon super villain.

Thanks for your honesty. Coming up with the best model for healthcare is a challenge and we agree on this. I do not think socialized medicine is the best possible model either though. A better model can be developed and I think will be at some point in the future.

I agree there will eventually be a better model as humans have proven to be great at slowly improving things over time, but it doesn’t make sense that the US wouldn’t adopt the best current model there is. And IMO, universal healthcare would resolve an awful lot of other issues and the government could significantly cut or eliminate a lot of other entitlement spending as a result.

I have no doubt Biden enthusiasm will be down, along with support for his candidacy. However, if there is anything that will make dems and independents get out an vote for him, it will be their disdain for Trump.

Trump will in no way create enthusiasm for anyone outside his base of supporters and will dampen enthusiasm among what you refer to as the establishment republicans- which is the main reason I think he has no chance to win. Would you vote for someone like Nikki Haley or Lindsey Graham( I know he is not a realistic candidate) if they were to get the nomination over Trump?

I fall more in line with democrats in that I will hold my nose and vote for pretty much anyone to keep the other party out of office. The problem is that republicans are not that way - at least to the same degree. They will just stay home and not vote either out of spite for their candidate not winning the nomination or some absurd foe moral stance even though they know it means a worse situation for the country from a policy perspective.

Despite the abject failure of Biden, think of how many people on this site that refer to themselves as republicans or independents that will simply not vote for Trump no matter who the other candidate is. This is from a much more conservative base of people than in the majority of swing states he will have to win. This is the problem Trump has and is one I just don't think he can overcome. I think Lake losing AZ(as a Trump backed candidate) is a pretty good indication of what will happen in several of the swing states that Trump would need to win. I know Oz was not an ideal candidate, but he had Trump support and lost to possibly the worst. most unqualified candidate I may have ever seen in Fetterman.

You are relaying the prevailing narrative from the media and I agree there is some of that never trump energy in the mix but I think its overblown to an extent. We are in a bad situation imo at this time as a nation and no telling how it ends.

How is it overblown? Everything about the candidates that he supported along with Trump's own results have shown that Americans won't vite for him in a generally election. We badly need to move on to someone else. You voting for Trump is a vote for Joe Biden.

You are personally electing four more years of Joe Biden. It's laughable that you don't understand that.

We will see won’t we.

Biden support will be no where close to what it was previously. People who previously were angry with Trump will see that most of the “conspiracy theories” he touted were actually true. That will bring those middle voters back in.

People do not like the “equity” governing by Biden and want a more merit based society that is not based on the color of your skin. No one really believes white supremacy is the biggest threat to our nation.

People realize democrats were behind the worst infringement on personal liberties in the history of this nation. Their Covid narrative has completely fallen apart and voters will not forget their authoritarian tendencies.

Also, republicans are learning how to vote like democrats and how to counter the Zuck bucks which won’t be coming in as much quantity this election.

Trump is owed 4 years due to the coup attempt on his presidency run by Obama and Clinton. People see this corruption and we the people will not stand for it.

Trump was right and he wins in a squeaker.

This is just flat wrong and all the data shows how wrong this is. You live in an echo chamber and apparently have no idea how Trump is viewed by moderates or progressives.

Also, nobody is owed a presidency. Trump loses is a landslide. Again.

That’s why we have an election. Wonder how hard the deep state will try to put their thumb on the scale this time?

You are wrong thinking people are going to vote in the same numbers for Joe Biden this time after the clusterfvck of his first 4 years in office.

"Deep State". You mean adults who are professionals.

No I mean the liars and cheats who make up false stories about their political opponents (Russian collusion) and sign their name to documents knowing they contain blatantly false information. Among other tactics.

If you call that adulting … well it shows your true colors that you are OK with cheating and lying.
