Two residents died from COVID

Two medical residents in NYC have in the last 24 hours from COVID-19. Both were in their 20s and became infected while taking care of patients with COVID. Very sad situation.
Keep this in mind when people continue to minimize this whole thing.

Horrible news. It's frustrating hearing stories about how the doctors and nurses on the front line don't have the necessary protection. It's also frustrating how we have become a nation of fatties (31" inch waist here), which are causing medical complications, which cause people to need hospitalization, which puts doctors and nurses at risk from being constantly exposed to this.

Residents and fellows also get paid $13-16 dollars an hour and no hazard pay.

Amy, quit being a troll. I’m not going to post on a public forum how I know this happened. I found some information on twitter. Thank you MF123. Lots of different things being said. The residents were not in their 20s according to what i can find. One was close to 40. One was not an actual resident of the hospital he was admitted to?

Seeing tons of different things on it as well. I have seen anywhere from 1-3 residents. Detroit and NYC. South Korea also had its first loss it seems.

not everything has a link. I shouldn’t have to explain this to you. Medicine is a small community - people find out things pretty quickly, especially when it involves trainees. Just because there isn’t a link doesn’t mean I’m “adding to the hysteria” as you accused me. And no I’m not going into detail how I know with certainty that this happened. Again, stop trolling

I’m not trolling. I want more information on two healthy 20 somethings dying from taking care of COVID patients. Period.

Then it’s because it hasn’t been reported, Amy. If I don’t add details to something I’ve posted, then perhaps I don’t feel comfortable sharing more info then I already have out of you know , basic respect. If the family wanted more information shared, they can do that. Take a clue instead of accusing me of “adding to hysteria” because I didn’t provide a damn link

I may be wrong but i believe Amy is also a front line health worker.

MF123 is spot on! My wife (pediatric ICU nurse) and I (hospice) both work in healthcare and know a lot more about what’s going on behind the scenes as well but the general public may never find out. Just because we live in era of info/media overload don’t assume you will made of everything.

I’m not a health care worker. Mine was always a joke. But you know that. Have some respect for a supposedl Doctor on TI who posts a link about 2 deaths that he has no proof of?
