Two residents died from COVID

No, Amy. You accused me of “adding to hysteria” when I said “no” to the question of a link - you thereby question the truthfulness of what I wrote and implied that I was being an alarmist. Stop it

I sure did and I’ll stand by it.

I finished residency in 2013. If someone I attended medical school with, who was doing residency across the country from me, had one of their fellow residents die then I can promise you I would know long before any public information was available. We had a resident pass away during my training and I found out well before there were any articles written about it

If that happened... it would be all over the news. I’m not wasting time. Troll?! I think it’s reasonable to want a link to the bombshell you just posted.

I’m sorry, but I can’t take any more of this. You need to just stop. We have a healthcare worker in a war zone risking their life to protect people they don’t even know. They take a few minutes to share some info they have received to help us stay informed. Maybe he doesn’t have all of the specifics yet. Meanwhile, you, while sitting on your ass in the safety of your home in South Carolina, not helping a damn sole, want HIM to take the time to go find YOU a link to a news story or else you are going to shame him on the internet for just adding to “hysteria.”

Just take my advice and quit posting. I’m just trying to save you from yourself.
Thank you sir. I'm now going to refrain from what I was going to say to her.

exactly. Thanks for putting this into a simple framework. Hope you’re doing well, btw

I can at least support this. I was a resident when AIDS was discovered and a resident behind me died of it a year after I finished. I knew about it a day later. And there was no such thing as a text or an email.

@MF123

thanks for posting. Out of curiosity, have y’all seen any trends to gain insight as to why there are outliers amongst the young that seem more affected than the whole data would suggest?

Two medical residents in NYC have in the last 24 hours from COVID-19. Both were in their 20s and became infected while taking care of patients with COVID. Very sad situation.
Keep this in mind when people continue to minimize this whole thing.
Thank you sir for all of your updates. And thanks to all the healthcare workers out there like yourself risking your lives to save others. May God bless you all!

I said what I said in my original post and answered the question about having a link or not. I don’t owe anyone additional explanation on this.

Look...if you’re a Dr. I appreciate your work and I’ll keep looking for some news on these deaths because it is newsworthy and will be made public. You take care.

You too buddy! Keep fighting the good fight and I hope you can get back to your regular fellowship cases soon

thanks man - my co fellows and I joked that we have probably learned more about vents during this time than at any point in residency, ha. Don’t know how you guys keep it all straight. Thanks for the support - and yes, hope so too. Cardiac caths are morre straightforward than what you all do!

I may be wrong but i believe Amy is also a front line health worker.

Hahahaha. That was one of the most surprising things to me out of all of this. I learned a few weeks ago that some people thought that menthol chain smoking moron was actually a brain surgeon.

Now I’ll just wait for her to threaten to leave (again) and her white knights to come to her defense

This is terrible news. Any idea if they were infected and showed symptoms in the first days of the virus onset in NY? And I assume the malaria meds are not proving to be as helpful as we hope?
