I tried to buy a balloon for someone at the hospital yesterday. The gift shop was out of helium. I bet the Chinese used it all up. They being aggravatin’.
Alright, back on topic. The first missile actually missed. And we dont know what happened to it.
The object was too small for bullets. To smalll for accurately hitting with a radar tracked missile as well. We simply tried again and got a hit.
This is some bizarre stuff all the way around.

I don't know the bible like @areeves , but it seems pretty simple to me. Make sure Jesus Christ is your savior. And if all hell breaks loose, don't get the chip. You may be killed, but you will go to heaven. If you get the chip you won't go to heaven.
I may or may not believe everything he says, but it is still pretty simple. All you have to do right now is accept Jesus Christ as your savior. If he's wrong about the rest, then it doesn't matter. If all hell does break out then you know what to do.

They aren’t too small for bullets, but bullets aren’t effective at bringing them down. They can continue floating for hours or days after being shot. Plus, they’re shooting explosive rounds with an effective range of a couple thousand feet. Staying above stall speed means an f16 or f22 is traveling at a speed that would give them a few seconds at best to fire and avoid any debris. Less of there was some sort of dead man switch capability/payload. A trained fighter pilot and the aircraft itself are worth way more than our cheapest A2A missile.

This thread has completely derailed, but I’m going to throw out an idea to combat these balloons. Couldn’t we release our own balloon(s) in the general flight path of one of these balloons? Let’s assume our balloon(s) have some ability to maneuver. Couldn’t our balloons somehow trap or hook the foreign balloon and carry it out into space? I say this partly in jest, but they sell these cheap RC controlled balloons on Amazon that can maneuver pretty well… obviously it would take a lot more engineering than that, but wouldn’t it be plausible? Or just another bad idea?

They had to adjust our radar scanning in order to pick up these types of vessels. So now since we’ve changed this, they can now attack without being picked up on radar.

Intellectually, they (China) are too smart and can recognize propaganda and I don't think we are smart enough to "feed them crap" and expect it to actually work. Hard to say. Electronic communications are protected when initiated from within the US regardless as to whether they are US citizen or not. It also could have been that anything coming from the "balloon" wasn't being monitored, countered.
Either way, anything that enters US airspace that wasn't launched from within the US or known friendly should have been taken down immediately upon recognition. I also think it's okay for us to question why that didn't happen.
Not really. The MSS basically leverages citizens abroad in potentially advantageous places by using their families at home as collateral. They don’t have highly placed agents all over the place much less some big network of embedded intel officers.
Their involvement regardless of level implicates them and unless you have direct knowledge into their TTPs, you're simply speculating. And even if you have some level of access to knowledge on how their methods and technologies are executed, you're still speculating. The only difference is to the degree of which you base your sources. I'm aware of varying indicators that forces me to disagree with you.

Comms are limited for something like that. Would have to be low power omnidirectional antenna. Chinese L-band capacity would be pretty limited in US airspace. Almost certainly used US or UK based satcom operator. We knew how it was transmitting. Plus, we had assets in the air using active measures to monitor and disrupt comms.
It’s all speculation to some degree. Impossible to prove a negative in this case. But, based on the body of knowledge we do have, historical operations, known capabilities, etc., i am fairly confident in what I stated.
It's not impossible to prove and even less difficult given what you stated in your previous post saying that "we knew how it was transmitting." I haven't seen any report(s) that confirms this so if your source is from other channels, let's tread lightly. You indicate that EA was conducted; by who and when was that order given? What air assets were used?
