⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

You didn't respond to my post yesterday where you stated he's a "pathological liar," but maybe you will today.

Keep in mind that the state does not have to prove motive. They've clearly done so, but they don't have to. And you just admitted that the defense "almost did a better job of proving motive with their witness yesterday," lol. I agree with you.

So the state has shown Maggie was shot with the same 300 blackout that is missing and had been fired at various places on the property previous to the murders. The state has shown Alex was with Maggie and Paul at 8:45 and they are dead at or near 8:50. The state has shown Alex lied to LE, friends, and family about being at the kennels with them. They've shown he lied about taking a nap. They've shown he lied about why Maggie came to Moselle in the first place. They've shown he never checked their pulse and could not have done so in the 17 seconds between arriving at kennels and calling 911.

How do you not convict? Do you need video of him shooting them? Do you need the 300 blackout? I'm honestly fascinated by anyone who wouldn't convict right now. Appreciate your thoughts.
I apologize for missing your post about the pathological liar. I didn’t see it. I had a lot of people responding to my posts yesterday.

I didn’t realize they proved he didn’t check their pulse. I know they insinuated he didn’t have time, but did someone testify there were no fingerprints of Alex on their necks? I didn’t see where they proved he didn’t.

I don’t need either gun. I’d assume Alex, Paul, buster would all have dna on the weapons. It would be nice to see if any other dna were present on the weapons.

Alex wanting Maggie at moselle is a big deal, but did he want her at the kennels? I haven’t seen that testimony if it exists.

Questions I’d like to have answered. Why was there dna of another man under Maggie’s finger nails? Why did LE say there was no immediate danger that night? If because they thought it was Alex why didn’t they seal the house, seal his moms house, keep everyone out and collect all evidence they could? Did they test Alex for GSR that night? I need some answers to these questions.

Just watching now for the first time. Didn't realize AM's lawyer was ole Dick. Good ole boys run with the good ole boys for sure.

Man,

Harpootlian desperately doesn’t want Alex on that stand. I think Dick knows he has a chance at hung jury right now.

I’m betting he believes if Alex testifies he will end up being convicted. This is about to be crazy

Yeah you can tell Harpootlian is definitely not on board with Alex testifying. The cross for Alex is going to be must see TV.

I'm guessing you're thinking is he's definitely going to prison for the financial crimes but can work it down to a lesser sentence somehow?
Yes. He will have to spend some time in jail for the financial crimes but my guess is they can plea it down. My understanding is that the sentence for each charge can be served concurrently so the 900 years or whatever it is for all of the charges is misleading. Of course, the state could push for life in prison.

I'd have to imagine if they don't get him on the murder charges they'd push for life in prison on the financial crimes. Whether they'd get that or not is obviously not 100%.

They paused so AM could use the bathroom before taking the stand. My first thought was i hope they have someone chaperoning that bathroom visit.
I wondered if Cousin Eddie was hiding in one of the stalls.

Notice how he blames his addiction and then says he would never "intentionally" hurt them. He even said he was incapable of reason. hmmmmm.
AM just needs ONE juror to holdout and hang the jury. Essentially Defense has ONE to convince and the Prosecutor has ALL to convince. (I support the American jurisprudence model. Innocence presumed; guilt proven beyond a reasonable doubt.)

Would the prosecution have known for sure beforehand that Alex was testifying today?

I’m sure they were prepared for that scenario, but also maybe a good strategy to spring it on them to give less time to prepare?

I’m guessing they will at least ask for an extended lunch break before starting their questioning?

It was not confirmed until today and most thought that he wouldn't testify. Creighton has been living this for years and Meadors has been living it for months. Pretty sure both of them could get out of bed and effectively cross Alex

What reasonable alternative do you have for Paul and Maggie’s death? What evidence is there, that in your mind, gives rise to any other scenario being realistic that someone else not named AM perpetrated this horrible crime?

Do you not think the cell phone and car data absolutely blows his alibi and places him at the scene during the murders? There is ample evidence the two missing guns from Mosell were the weapons that killed Paul and Maggie.

Help me understand what you would need to convict AM?
the defense doesn’t have to prove anything. That burden is on the state. I’m still not sold that Alec has the balls to shoot his own flesh and blood. The same flesh and blood that he did everything to protect over financial crimes. I don’t buy that. All this evidence is circumstantial, sure it adds up to him being there and he lied. We all know he is a crappy person but I see no evidence he is capable for blowing his sons brains out. If I was on the jury as of this morning I’m not guilty.
