⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

Did the defense have his head shaved early in this saga so that his hair could not be tested for drugs? Or is there another reason one would shave his head?

Think about this, people...

If Alex were innocent, he would've immediately told 911 and LE that he was JUST RIGHT THERE WITH THEM AT THE KENNELS. "I was down here with them right before I left and they were fine, I had to get the chicken out the dog's mouth, they were fine!" He'd be frantic to assist LE with this accurate and possibly extremely helpful information.

An innocent man has no reason to lie about being there, because an innocent man does not know their time of death and doesn't really know he needs to lie. An innocent Alex doesn't know if they died at 8:49 or 10:04. Only a guilty man knows their time of death is so close to 8:44, and thus he needs to remove himself from the scene.

Just think.
Yep - every lie that he has now admitted to would only be necessary to cover his guilt.

“Oh the tangled we we weave” No Alleck its the tangled web YOU have woven.

The preponderance of evidence and testimony only points to guilt.

My daughters are convinced he’s innocent after yesterdays testimony. He’s not gong to be convicted.

Can you dive into what specifically was said yesterday that makes them think that? It has to be all feelings, no new evidence was presented by the defense other than AM admitting he lied for 2 years to every living sole about not being at the kennels.

That’s why Waters is trying to slow this down and show the jury over and over that Alex is capable of smooth talking his way to benefitting himself, and he’s done it over and over and over in many different ways. No, simply being a thief does not automatically make you a murderer. The deceit knows no bounds and he’s the ultimate wolf in sheep’s wool. Waters has got to keep hammering this point on cross and in closing. Because Alex knows that he can turn on just enough charm to take advantage of someone else’s feelings and a juror’s guilt about having to convict someone of murder, much less a Murdaugh. Mindhunter.

Alex spoke a few truths yesterday but the most telling were

“I get paranoid”

“I would never intentionally hurt my family”

again narcissistic

almost like whatever happened, it wasn’t really me therefore I am not guilty

I think Waters, as many have said, is drawing out the true AM, 2-sentence answer for a yes/no question, just so he (AM) can control the conversation

Paw-Paw is his way of making it like there were two sons - the one he loved and the one he thought he had to kill.

AS WATERS HAS SAID - NO ONE EVER MENTIONED “PAW PAW” in ANY STATEMENT UNTIL YESTERDAY

self-serving and total act to make him look loving

Waters will elicit testimony about drug use leading up to the day of murders

I would want photos of AM with guns entered today

ADD drug use talk about how much money spent
-if not lying then basically a zombie who “without sleep” (insert snot drip) could snap

ALSO where is the F’n MONEY? (got into that yesterday)

MAYBE hookers finally come in to the game

Waters has been so good all trial but it only matters if you have enough gas in the 4th quarter.

Please keep in mind that this is a very difficult case for the prosecution

so a hung jury is not a loss - but maybe it was headed that way all along

Agree that it ends in a hung jury.

This is not a shot at your daughter's thinking, but lots of folks are going to base their opinion solely on AMs testimony. That's just the way a lot of brains work. Evidence be damned.

AM is by far the least credible person to testify during this trial. He's the only one that had anything to gain from testimony. Much of his testimony so far has been about his web of lies, and his new alibi of resting on the couch after leaving the kennels directly conflicts with his cell phone steps. I hope Waters drills him on that.

Yet, many people aren't going to be able to see past all the facts for the emotion. AM was upset on the stand, and many will take that as a sign of innocence despite the fact that this trial has proven he's a pathological liar.

An innocent paranoid person in that situation would be much more worried that he or another loved one would be gunned down next. He wouldn't lie and mislead investigators in attempt to better cover his ass.

Fascinating stuff. Are you surprised there hasn’t been a psychiatric evaluation done or entered into evidence or is that not a thing? The jury needs to understand his mind in order to appreciate what he’s capable of.

You and I are 100% on the same page.

He is painting himself as a caring person to get sympathy from the jury. Saying things like he “thinks the world of all the people he stole money from” and still “cares for them to this day.” Give me a break! The only person he cares about is himself! If people on the jury can’t see that, then it just further exposes flaws in our justice system. His empire was crumbling around him and desperate drug addicts do crazy things. At a minimum, he was involved in the killing of Paul and Maggie.

I’m sure this has been talked about and I know the defense called(bought) an “expert” witness detailing the gunshot decibels and what they would have been in the house, but there is no way that you could be only 3 football fields away from the shooting and not hear the gunshots. I live in the country surrounded by hunt clubs and clearly hear every deer within a half a mile of our house get shot every evening during deer season, even while watching tv. It seems as though the jury should take a field trip. I hope the prosecution brings some rebuttal witnesses and it this point, maybe even bring “cousin” Eddie back as a rebuttal witness if that is possible. I don’t see what the prosecution has to lose at this point considering Alex had jurors crying and handing him tissue yesterday during his gross testimony. Unless things change, the best case I see is a hung jury. Hope I’m wrong.

What happens if you throw it in the toilet? Let us know.
I threw mine in a pond last week. My fishing partner threw his in at the same time. Unfortunately, both of us were thrown into the pond with our phones. Managed to gather the one rod that fell out with me and the boat righted itself after spitting us out. Happily, both of our phones still worked.

Shotguns possibly but rifles with noise suppressors? i live near waterfowl impoundments and am rarely awakened by shots.

I still think he had something to do with the deaths, but I haven't heard all the testimony nor sat in the jury box.

Both daughters went into the trial thinking he was guilty. The turning point for them is what Poot has been driving home for the entire trial - they can’t see him killing his son. Most witnesses have attested to the closeness of the family and his grief seems genuine. Plus that’s not a lot of time to do what he’s accused of doing.

Finally watched yesterday after watching the Netflix show, so obviously I think he's guilty and whole family are pieces of shit. I think he won't get convicted of the murders because at least one juror won't go for it - but has there even been a shred of evidence that anyone besides Maggie, Paul, and Alex were at the scene of the murders?

Do you think he dragged out the financial stuff yesterday so they could go over his testimony and match to the evidence before today's questioning? Not sure the phone stuff supports his testimony yesterday that he went to the house and took a 5-10 minute nap before leaving. Catch him in another lie.

Bingo, no way he wouldn’t have heard all those shots based on the new and improved alibi. I don’t care how loud the tv was. He would’ve heard those gunshots.

There was the Midget of Hampton County — a 5’2” stone cold killer.

What in the world are you talking about? My point was simply...your claim that your phone works in a certain way therefore that means AM couldn't have thrown MM's phone from the car is anecdotal. I tried to recreate with my phone and I could...even so, say you don't 100% buy that ONE piece of evidence, why would the mean you throw out the other 2 dozen?

That has nothing to do with convicting a guy of murder on one item that the state presented over 3 weeks of testimony. That is bonkers.

Every post you make is 100% buying the AM story hook, line and sinker. Your mind is/was made up and you seem to have a serious case of confirmation bias. Anything that confirms your opinion on the matter is 100% air tight, no bubbles; anything that goes against is questioned and weak. Problem is, there is very, very little that suggests AM is innocent. Way more suggests he was involved.

That's the scales of justice, for sure--is the weight strong enough? Clearly you say no; For me, I think it is thus far, but I'm not viewing every piece of information through an already decided on the outcome lens.
In my re-creation with my iPhone I found it did not light up with dropping or throwing.
But I was suspicious of a setting. I keep “raise to wake” off to save a little battery. My wife does not. When I tossed hers this morning it did light up. She was also pissed.

So I suspect Maggie’s phone had that setting off as well unless you believe whoever did put it on the roadside very meticulously handled it and laid it down.

As an aside my wife wanted me to turn her “raise to wake” off since she refuses a new phone and her battery lasts about an hour.

The video puts Alex at the kennels, but what the video doesn't tell us is - was there more than 3 people at the kennels at the time. What if there was a 4th person that the family knew and didn't think there was a danger. Someone arranged by Alex (i.e. Cousin Eddy, John Marvin, etc.). Alex leaves to go the house and within a minute or two, gun shots take place by the 4th person.

I think the problem the defense has that they can't overcome is that the state has proven him to be a completely dishonest person as evidenced by his many financial crimes against his clients and the accompanying lies he would have told to accomplish them. Then he admitted to lying to law enforcement from the beginning of the investigation. Now he says he's finally telling the truth. The only real evidence of his innocence is he denied the murders.
What I think is particularly disturbing about his financial crimes is he committed them, not to provide food and shelter to his family, but to live an incredibly lavish and entitled life style. For example he took his entire family, 4 to 6 people to the final four. How many tens of thousands of other peoples' money did that take. Likewise he took them to the Kentucky derby. In one photo with his wife and 2 children the males are wearing feathered bow ties to the tune of $200 each of other peoples' money. He apparently had housekeepers for both houses and hired a guy to take care of his dogs in the kennel. Now, all of that spending is fine if it's his money, but to steal from poor and ignorant clients to accomplish it is unforgivable. And for someone to think he is entitled to do that is a sociopath who will also kill his family if he feels its necessary. Two of the people I feel sorry for is his older brother Randy and his younger brother John Marvin. Randy's name was taken off a law firm that was known as the Murdaugh firm for over a 100 years and John Marvin sells tractors and has to live in a town where is name is the brunt of jokes. Pathetic!

Understand and I get where they're coming from. I'd go as far to say that the grief is genuine.

I have no doubt that AM misses his wife and son. I have no doubt AM wishes they were still here. But grief can come from self pity, shame, disgust and guilt too.

If I'm on that jury, I just can't give much weight to the fact that an admitted liar ( a stranger at that) is upset on the stand. For years, he deceived even those closest to him.
