⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

CEO of a convenience store? Or the CEO of a chain?

If you come across side plot articles, drop a link here. This is all fascinating.
Chain - it’s Parkers out of Savannah. From what I read the clerk didn’t do anything other than what thousands of other c-store clerks do when they halfass look at an ID before selling beer to a young adult around the age of 21.

I hate that the girl died but suing Parker’s is a money grab, pure and simple. It’s not like they coerced Paul to walk in the store and present his brother’s ID (which looked just like him) and it’s not like the others were not happy Paul got the alcohol so they could drink it.

These people are just trying to monetize the death of their daughter/girlfriend, and I think it’s despicable.

The brother had at least 100lbs on the under 21 little bro. My bet they never really looked at the ID.

And, for nearly the 1000th time on this topic, it’s the family’s right and choice - just because you say you would choose otherwise no one really cares.

What’s the saying? Walk a mile in his shoes?

Buster and Paul looked nothing alike. Also, Buster has about 75 pounds and 5" on Paul. The kids' happiness about Paul getting alcohol is not relevant.

Hey, we are all entitled to our opinions. All I can say is that I have seen family pictures, and I have a hard time distinguishing the two. You don't know if the clerk looked at the ID or not. Of course, neither do I.

Hope I do not have to walk in the shoes of the Beaches....but I also hope I do not have to walk in the shoes of someone who is the victim of a frivolous lawsuit.

How is the lawsuit against Parker’s frivolous? Please explain that.

I can’t wait to hear about the chain emails you’ve read.

There are 3 other podcasts in addition to Fitsnews I’ve found. 1 is on YouTube by Eric Allan, other 2 are on podcast app. Some pretty interesting storylines developing with the Stephen Smith side.

new one by Fitsnews just dropped today.

Do you think Parker’s should pay them $50million dollars because one of their attendants sold alcohol to someone who was underage who presented a fake ID? Why not sue the attendant if the presumption is that she was being negligent? At what point is one responsible for putting themselves in a bad situation? They are only going after Parker’s because Parker’s has deep pockets

Have not read any chain emails but see a lot of adds for ambulance chasers on television.

Again, I respect your opinion and hope neither of us or our loved ones are ever in this situation.

Again, how is the lawsuit frivolous? Frivolous means absolutely without merit. Not that the negligence of their employee is worth 2 million instead of 50 million, that’s an entirely different subject.

Big news today on the Murdaugh front... 1. The lawsuit was amended today to now include Bank of America which Bland referred to as a "high tech laundromat."
2. There's a new article out from FITS that AM wrote checks to Cousin Eddie totaling $1.8 million. The article doesn't give any detail though, but I assume it's coming.

All this is available on FITS NEWS.

In my opinion, if my friends and I trick you into doing something wrong, then that is on us and not on you. Others may disagree, but I think the two brothers looked enough alike to where the typical cashier would have no reason to question it. Heck, I don’t even look like my picture on my drivers license….at least I hope I don’t look like that!

Cousin Eddie’s “account” must be similar to the Forge account that AM set up. Or maybe Eddie opened it under AM’s direction but had no knowledge of anything related to it including how to view it. Or what was in it.

That’s the norm. But at Spinks I’ve seen them stick an ID in a scanner and gives an up or down.

Oh man. Bet ur right. Hadn’t thought of that. I’m still VERY confused about Eddie.

You and I agree on most things but there has to be a deterrent to stop underage kids buying alcohol. I realize many will get it some other way but you have to start somewhere. I don’t think they should get rich but these stores need to make sure it doesn’t happen. I had the fake IDs and I’ve had older friends buy it and all that too but I’m a parent of a 16 YO now so my perspective has changed tremendously. I have also had a clerk take my fake ID because she could tel it wasn’t legit by looking at some book and this was 30 years ago. I don’t think the family
Should get rich because somebody screwed up but it needs to hurt
The lawsuit against Parker’s is just gonna make it tougher for hard-working honest underage kids to buy beer with a fake ID.
I know you’re being facetious but hopefully you’re right.

Maybe the underage purchaser should lose his driver's license until he's 21

There shouldn’t be laws about buying alcohol. It’s the parents job to raise the child.
This all started in the home. That’s the problem, not a convenience store.

Fake ids are hard to detect. This one wasn’t fake. It could have been scanned at spjnx and a thumbs up would have occurred. The kids looks enough like the picture that you wouldn’t take another second to think about it.

There is zero liability with the convenience store based on what’s been presented here. That being said if there’s more evidence I’d be happy to hear it, but otherwise this is simply a money grab and is of extremely low character.

If the original suit had no merit and there was zero liability why would the following actions be taken (allegedly) by those being sued :

“The new civil action alleges that Parker, owner and CEO of Parker's, and his attorneys Greco and D’Cruz, conspired with journalist Ward, as well as Fratoddi and Rosado of Private Investigations Services Group, to launch "...a social media campaign to inflict severe emotional distress upon the Plaintiffs to diminish their resolve to prosecute Parker’s for contributing to causing the death of Mallory Beach in the Civil Action and arranged for or participated in the distribution of the confidential mediation and other private materials... "
The suit alleges that, prior to Sept. 14, 2021, Parker, Greco, and D’Cruz hired "social media knife fighters" and others to devise a plan to emotionally harm, harass and discourage the Beach family from prosecuting the wrongful death suit by creating fake social media posts. “

Assuming that there is proof of these allegations I would have to conclude that there is more to the origins suit than meets the uninformed eye.

You're missing the point. The primary purpose of dram shop laws is deterrence, not retribution. Everybody understands the boys were more at fault than the clerk or store. Tort law is an effective way for the state to promote and enforce public safety with pooled insurance premiums at a very low marginal cost per person.

Oh no! You're telling me insurance premiums are set as act of socialism? What will the tinfoil hat troops do about that.....next thing you know medicine will be that way.....oh wait....

I haven’t paid much attention to this thread…having said that, I can scarcely believe all of these “coincidences” associated with one family.

I’m Sicilian & I’ve never seen THIS much drama or folks “having an accident.”

The Murdaugh’s make the Kennedy clan look like saints.

What are the hidden gems of Sicily in your experience?

AS I understand it, this bond does not override the "no bond" he got previously by Judge Newman. This ruling only applies to the recent charges issued by the state Grand Jury. I might be wrong, but I think that's what I read.

eta: even with bond being granted, Harpootlian was unhappy and thought it should've been less because, you know, AM has zero money.

Anyone thinking AM gets out of jail given Judge Lee's $7M bond ruling today, see below:

"More charges against Murdaugh (and various co-defendants) are expected soon, according to sources familiar with the ongoing investigations into this alleged criminal web. He was granted bond in the amount of $7 million by S.C. circuit court judge Alison Lee on one set of charges early Monday, but remains incarcerated without bond on a pair of previous charges per the order of president Murdaugh judge Clifton Newman."

Thank you for the research. Given the nature and cumulative effect of Murdaugh's alleged crimes, this seems appropriate.

If allegations prove true, it's difficult to fathom stealing from others to sustain a lifestyle associated with your family's name rather than building the family's legacy with hard work and honor. Tree or seed....something is a bit rotten......if allegations prove true.
