The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that of the 43 COVID-19 cases caused by the Omicron variants, 34 people were fully vaccinated. Only 8 people were unvaccinated who got infected with the Omicron variants and 1 person has status unknown.

Details are available for 43 cases of COVID-19 attributed to the Omicron variant; 25 (58%) were in persons aged 18–39 years (Table). The earliest date of symptom onset was November 15 in a person with a history of international travel. Fourteen (33%) persons reported international travel during the 14 days preceding symptom onset or receipt of a positive test result. Among these cases of COVID-19 attributed to the Omicron variant, 34 (79%) occurred in persons who completed the primary series of an FDA-authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine ≥14 days before symptom onset or receipt of a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result, including 14 who had received an additional or booster dose; five of the 14 persons had received the additional dose <14 days before symptom onset. Six (14%) persons had a documented previous SARS-CoV-2 infection. The most commonly reported symptoms were cough, fatigue, and congestion or runny nose. One vaccinated patient was hospitalized for 2 days, and no deaths have been reported to date. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that of the 43 cases attributed to Omicron variant, 34 people had been fully vaccinated. Fourteen of them had also received a booster, although five of those cases occurred less than 14 days after the additional shot before full protection kicks in.

While the numbers are very small, they add to growing concerns that current COVID-19 vaccines may offer less protection against the highly transmissible new variant.

The Omicron variant of the coronavirus has been found through testing in about 22 states so far after first being identified in southern Africa and Hong Kong in late November.

Among the Omicron cases, 25 were in people aged 18 to 39 and 14 had traveled internationally. Six people had previously been infected with the coronavirus.

when responding to Covid threads I often mention my neighbor who is the director of nursing at Anne Arundel Medical Center up here in Maryland. AAMC is one of the largest hospitals in the state. Yesterday evening, at the mailbox, we were chatting and he told me that its getting bad again. He isnt that concerned about Omicron, but Delta is raging.

He told me a heart breaking story. the staff is stretched thin, so he is actually on the floor and had a patient die yesterday. 69 year old, unvaccinated, lady. During he last moments he went out to the visiting area to inform her son that she may have 10 minutes left and asked if he wanted to hold his mother's hand while she passed. He declined ... NOT because he didnt want to be around a covid patient.... but rather because he refused to wear a mask ...

Yea, not out of my mouth. I think most people should get vaccinated. I don't think younger healthy people should be vilified if they choose not to be. You can believe that and still care about others.

Without getting too deep into my personal info, I have 2 young boys, a wife and 2 parents in their 70s, one with multiple comorbidities. She is triple vaxxed, and gave my son and I covid over the holidays.

Or maybe you should look at the numbers that show the percentage of unvaccinated that die from COVID versus the percentage of the vaccinated. Makes the number above highly plausible and if anything too low. Hombre

In the US, at least 80% of present day covid deaths are unvaxxed people. Unvaxxed people comprise less than 40% of the population in the US.

In the UK, according to the numbers TG linked in the Gateway Pundit, an unvaxxed person is more likely to have died of covid recently than a vaxxed person.

So now the evidence from the UK and the US shows that if you do not want to die of covid, you should be vaxxed.

TG, I liked the Halloween decorations this year. Especially the Tombstones with the inscription, "I DID MY OWN RESEARCH".

The problem here is that political pundits and their dupes are spreading twisted truths which may persuade unvaxxed people to remain unvaxxed and so increase their chances of death by Covid. That makes it immoral.

I did get a sore throat a few weeks back and got over it in a week. The covid vaccine is proven to not do what it was promised to do and thats a fact, so there is no reason for mandates. If I give covid to a vaxxed person then they will get mildly sick and I will be dead in short order based on your logic. Once again your numbers related to vaxed vs unvaxed is a fantasy thats not real. The numbers on the entire scamdemic are fake. The vast majority of official deaths were people that died with covid and not people that died from covid. The fricking pcr test has never even worked and masks do not work. This entire scamdemic was built on lies from comie dems and China. It's also true that DWG has said that he didn't vote for Biden and he's never explicitly said he's a Dem or liberal but enjoys poking fun at the tinfoil hats on here.
