Elon Musk

Making sense.

Elon Musk Issues Urgent Warning for Humanity

“If there are no humans, there’s no humanity.”

Musk says that we should be “very concerned” about imploding birth rates, which are “accelerating in most countries.”

But it’s what he said next that was very telling.

“In the sort of extreme form of the environmentalist movement, people start to view humans as a PLAGUE on the surface of the earth, as a fundamentally bad thing, and with the implication that if all humans disappeared, somehow earth would be better off.”

Musk described this as “The Extinctionist Movement.”

“I think at a fundamental level, you can think of things as a fight between expansionist and extinctionist philosophies. And that’s what really matters. If humans go extinct or civilization collapses, whatever policies we may have are IRRELEVANT.”

Musk’s final message was this: “Go forth and multiply.”

@elonmusk
Musk ... the idiot who thinks we're going to Mars.

I have 2.

I have a teenager that was turning driving age and the family needed a new car. I liked Elon and wanted to support him so I gave the Tesla a try. I liked it so much i traded in my F-150 and got another Tesla. I don't think I will ever buy an i.c.e. car again. Electric is undoubtedly the future (not necessarily Tesla, although they are miles ahead right now).

There will always be a market for ICE cars, they will not go away completely. The electric grid can not handle everyone switching at once. However, EV's drive much better, are much more efficient, and are cheaper to operate than ICE cars. It is easy to see a future that is dominated by EV's.

The price is around 40-50k depending on how you get it trimmed out. The interior uses materials that are a little cheaper than a nice BMW or Mercedes, but the performance of the 50k tesla will outperform any $100k bmw, mercedes, porshe etc and it is not close.

Plus the technology. My car can already drive me pretty much anywhere unassisted. As far as i am concerned RoboTaxi is solved. I would hop in the car and let it take me somewhere today without thinking twice.

There are a few problems with EV conversion which I think will lead to new pathes in the car market

Look for Elon to develop more fuel cell and hydrogen powered options for thre road

Next thing Elon is going to be advocating for will be Modular Nuclear Reactors scattered across the American landscape

It is going to take thousands of MNR’s across America to meet electric power demand

Think in terms of a nuclear powered aircraft carrier which has a small reactor and a massive city of thousands of people

Or a nuclear sub

Technology exists and it is NOT RENEWABLE SOLAR OR WIND

IT IS MNR REACTORS BY THE HUNDREDS ACROSS AMERICA

Conversion will not happen overnight and it is not intended to happen overnight. There will be a market for ICE Cars for 2-3 more decades probably.

I think Electric will win out simply because they perform better. If you gave me an ICE car and a BEV car for the same price, it is not even a contest as to which car to take. Factor in that BEV's are cheaper to buy and cheaper to operate and it's a no brainer that they will take market share. Ev's are too good and too far ahead for hydrogen or something else to catch up imo. Battery prices are dropping like a rock too, BEV's are just going to get cheaper.

Will there be some alternative fueled cars? Sure, just like there was BetaMax for a while.

Wow. What a misinformed post.

Where do you get the misinformation that Elon bought Twitter with "money he didn't even put up?"

That sure is a lot of people clamoring for crappy hours? 125,000 people work for Elon Musk. His companies receive an additional millions of applications (Tesla alone recieved 3 million applicaions) every year.

Irrational post is irrational.

We are going to Mars.
No. Every dollar pretending we are going is waste. Mars is a wasteland. No breathable air. No water. No plant or animal life. No reason to go there. No person with a brain would want to live or work there. To prove it all, no private company will put up the $$ to waste. They just pretend with a little amount of dollars do people think their smart and open minde. Which they are not. Space exploration is for losers.

Suck it haters. LOL!!

Elon Musk Reportedly Plans to Donate Approximately $45 Million a Month to New Pro-Trump Super PAC

Dems have had a major financial advantage for a while. What does the score look like for campaign funds this go around with Musk and others funding the right? Along with a completely uninspiring ticket in the left.

This is the problem for the left. They have no aspirational goals, they have no purpose in their life.

Elon has stated that he wants to get to Mars because this is the first time in the Earths history and in Human history that we have a chance to extend human consciousness outside our own planet. It's the first time that we have the technology to do so. This may be a sliver in time where it is possible, you never know what will happen. It is a worthy goal for all of humanity.

You think pioneers like Christopher Columbus, Lewis and Clark, Galileo had ideal conditions? Of course not. Of course a lot of people will die. But it can be done, is a worthy goal for humanity, and thanks to Elon Musk it will be done.

Every single problem you mentioned can be worked around via engineering. It will take a lot of team work and coordination. That means working together as a society towards a common goal.

And you are wrong, there are hundreds of thousands of people, out of 8+ Billion, that are willing to go to Mars.

Without space exploration your life would suck, so your comment about space exploration being for losers is stupid.

Tell this to the government, let's destroy the space station, stop sending intelligent gathering satellites into space , shutdown the Space Force ...

Elon moving SpaceX headquarters out of California due to the new parenting law that went into effect. X will probably be next.

The left should think long and hard about their policies. They are causing long term damage. Elon Musk has left California which will deprive them of Billions of dollars in tax income. Ken Griffen left Chicago leaving them with budget shortfalls of hundreds of millions of dollars. Chicago is also on the cusp of losing it's status as a financial hub as the major exchanges CME and CBOE have threatened to leave the city due to tax policy. Miami has become a mini New-York with all the finance companies that have fled to Florida.

In the short term, probably not in and of itself not a big deal. But this is an indication of a larger problem and many people will follow Elon and realize they are getting a raw deal in CA. CA top tax rate is 50%+ (state+Federal).

It's unfortunate that we have to watch our cities decay under democratic leadership. It's kind of like a family member being a drug addict. Sometimes there is not much you can do to help them. They have to hit rock bottom first.

I'm talking about "space exploration". Missions to Mars and colonies/science outposts on the moon. Those are waste for which neither the Congress nor any private entity will ever invest nearly enough dollars. Instead, Congress wastes about $20 billion/year to convince taxpayers that they are intelligent and open minded. They are neither.

I'll get to your "Mars" reply to me later. What is your solution for the cities? Cut taxes? Then don't complain about high spending.

This is the problem for the left. They have no aspirational goals, they have no purpose in their life. (My aspirational goal is to significantly reduce drug use in the United States. Wasted dollars for space explorational redirected to the DEA and FBI will provide a huge boost.)

Elon has stated that he wants to get to Mars because this is the first time in the Earths history and in Human history that we have a chance to extend human consciousness outside our own planet. It's the first time that we have the technology to do so. (We do not have such technology. Last time I looked, NASA did not have acceptable washing machine technology. Nor many of the other needed technologies.) This may be a sliver in time where it is possible, you never know what will happen. It is a worthy goal for all of humanity. (I and most other humans have no need or want for a Mars mission.)

You think pioneers like Christopher Columbus, Lewis and Clark, Galileo had ideal conditions? Of course not. Of course a lot of people will die. But it can be done, is a worthy goal for humanity, and thanks to Elon Musk it will be done. (I don't think Musk hardly talks about it anymore!)

Every single problem you mentioned can be worked around via engineering. (Wrong. Engineering can't remake the laws of physics.) It will take a lot of team work and coordination. That means working together as a society towards a common goal.

And you are wrong, there are hundreds of thousands of people, out of 8+ Billion, that are willing to go to Mars. (Only idiots. Most people have no clue how horrible such a mission would be.)

Without space exploration your life would suck, so your comment about space exploration being for losers is stupid. (Wrong again. By far, most developed technology that makes our lives less sucky were developed on earth. And through the private sector and the DOD.)

I'll get to your "Mars" reply to me later. What is your solution for the cities? Cut taxes? Then don't complain about high spending.
My solution is to stop the crime and make the cities safe again. No open air drug markets, no humans shitting on the street, no free shoplifting under $900. Chicago adopt d the “no bail” policy and the prosecutors like Kim fox are soft on crime.

This is an OBVIOUS first step.

Tax policy is up to the cities. But the have to be competitive with other cities or the willl lose out. Some cities, especially in CA, need to look at their tax policy, yes. %50 of your income is ridiculous. When the income tax first started it was levied at around 5%.

It’s already told. You don’t think the libs would pay $100B to get their little communist pet project back ? Haha

The purchase of twitter is probably a better purchase than the purchase of Alaska or the Louisiana Purchase.

$44B is looking like a steal.

Let's stick to federal polices We need to increase FBI and DEA money. We can start by redlining b.s. science projects like space exploration. The DOD spends plenty of money already for low earth orbit security, etc.

No.. federal policies do not control the cities. Democrat leadership needs to be looked at on the local level.

And the FbI needs to be abolished and replaced. The are a corrupt and compromised institution that I don’t think can regain the rights trust.

And without space exploration you would not have many of luxuries we have today. Sounds like the dumbest policy decision ever to eliminate it.

I manage a team of 20. My dad didn't own an emerald mine in apartheid South Africa, so I didn't get all the benefits from starting on 3rd base in life like him. Had none of the networks and money he had.

He's not going to mars. He can't get out of low earth orbit. Unless Musk lives to 100, he aint going at the rate he's going.
Again, I was a big Musk proponent when Tsla came out and SpaceX. He's a great salesman and has a vision, but he's just devolved so badly the last 6 years its incredible to witness. Also, his milestones he's set have been completely missed.

Self driving cars? fail
Electric tractor trailers? fail
Going to Mars by 2022? fail
Hyper loop? fail

He's had genuine success but his business decisions and failures seem to have radicalized him. He seems to be handling his failures by gaslighting himself and getting cozy with extremist seats of power in the hopes of insulating himself.

TSLA has made great products, but ask anyone, their quality has gone down significantly. Remember, they aren't profitable except for the carbon trades. Which is a total communist agenda. Right?????

I just call it like I see it. Sold my TSLA stock a while ago. Thanks for the profit Musk,

It's hard to argue with people who start their first sentence off with misinformation.

Elon has REPEATEDLY said that there is no evidence of an emerald mine, and he has never received money from an emerald mine. It was most likely made up by his dad. He had a very middle class upbringing and his dad was an asshole. Starting on 3rd base would be a relative statement, but if you read the biography i think most people would agree that is an inaccurate description. Elon had pretty rough teenage years.

He can't get out of low earth orbit? His car is passing pluto about now. Stupid statement.

We are going to Mars. Probably not during our lifetime though.

Self Driving Cars a failure? It's already here. I do it every day.

Tesla isn't profitable except for the carbon trades? 2021 called and wants their facts back.

Good God talk about being blinded by hatred. You are battling @dpic73 for misinformation king of the board.

You sure about all that champ?

Family

Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, is a Canadian model and the oldest woman to star in a Covergirl campaign. When Musk was growing up, she worked five jobs at one point to support her family.

Musk’s father, Errol Musk, is a wealthy South African engineer.

Musk spent his early childhood with his brother Kimbal and sister Tosca in South Africa. His parents divorced when he was 10.

Musk definitely was Wealthy, mine or no mine.

Errol was born Errol Graham Musk, in 1946, in Pretoria, Transvaal, South Africa. His father was South African, and his mother was British. Errol first married his high-school sweetheart, Maye Haldeman, a Canadian model and dietitian, in 1970. Their first son, Elon, was born on June 28, 1971. A year later, Errol welcomed his second son, Kimbal, and in 1974, his daughter, Tosca, was born. Kimbal is now a renowned entrepreneur, philanthropist, and restaurateur, while Tosca is a film producer and director.
Errol and Maye got divorced in 1979. Following this, their sons spent their weekdays with Elon and their weekends with Maye. Tosca lived with her mother, as she was a toddler then. Errol later married Heide-Mari, a widow and a mother of three children. They had two daughters together, namely, Alexandra “Ali” Musk and Asha “Rose” Musk.
Errol earned massive wealth as an engineering consultant and as a real-estate developer. He owned several mines and other natural-resources infrastructure. Errol had a share in an emerald mine near Lake Tanganyika, Zambia. He also owned thoroughbred horses. He also had a private yacht and a 'Cessna' aircraft, as he enjoyed sailing and piloting back then. Errol would spend most of his holidays at the several posh homes he owned. One of them was in Waterkloof, a classy suburb of Pretoria, where Elon had spent most of his childhood after Errol and Maye got divorced. However, Errol retired quite early. By 1980, Errol was half-retired and eventually began to spend most of his time and money on travel.

"You are battling @dpic73 for misinformation king of the board."

Ah, the long known right-wing trick to repeat a lie often enough and people will believe it. It also entails claiming perfectly reasonable statements are misinformation, even when the charge makes no sense. You have mastered that craft.

Im going off the biography and Elon's own words. There was never an emerald mine that Elon knew about as a kid. . Errol Musk was an alcoholic and was terrible with his money. He was a very strange man. Elon left his father when he was about 16 if I recall correctly.

Divored parents, living with your mom, brother and sister in a 2 bedroom house in Canada doesn't seem "wealthy" to me. But wealthy is a relative term so maybe it's wealthy to you.
