You and I are largely on the same page here; but to be fair, what we first see in the pic is not actually the bullet, but the shockwave of the bullet as it tears through the air at supersonic speed. Shrapnel from a bullet would almost certainly not be traveling at supersonic speed and would be much harder to spot. Also, that particular bullet almost certainly did not strike an object with sufficient mass to produce a shrapnel spray capable of penetrating flesh. Given the nature of a typical 5.56 round...which is again, typically a full-metal jacket projectile with a pointed tip that widens to its full dimensions before tapering slightly into what is referred to as a "boat tail" shape. Hence, the round is generally referred to as FMJBT, for full-metal jacket, boat tail. Why is all this technical mumbo-jumbo important? Because 5.56 FMJBT rounds do not fly in a tight spiral. They wobble. This is what allows a comparatively smaller round to strike with the force of a larger round. As a result, when a 5.56 FMJBT strikes an object with even nominal mass, the round tumbles. Had the round in that photo struck something with sufficient mass, it would 1) likely no longer be supersonic--and therefore not produce the observed shockwave, and 2) would no longer be exhibiting its characteristic wobbling spiral flight path as we see in the pic.To the conspiracy theorist that it was not a bullet, I have a simple question:
How could technology slow the video down, capture the bullet grazing by his head, and not be able to catch any sort of shrapnel or objects flying by his head?
You would think a bullet would be a lot harder to capture from photo/video than a bullet? Just a common sense theory?
But at the end of the day, someone tried to assassinate them and in typical liberal fashion, they want to twist and turn that b/c Orange Man Bad

Oh okay. Strong argument.Wow!
Where has the truth been the last 8 years. The media and the dems told you Biden's been ok, along with a whole host of lies.
And now it matters if it was a bullet or a fragment of something, that hit his ear? The truth is he was shot at.
Man, the truth?!? You can't handle the truth...
😅oh okay, if that helps youNah, you’re busted. I’ll give you credit, though. You play the part well.
This is mostly fair too. But I'm not hearing from anyone that he was NOT struck by a bullet, just that there is some question as to whether or not he was struck by a bullet.OK, you've convinced me (long ago, in fact) that it is entirely possible that something other than a bullet could have caused the apparent injury to DJT's ear.
Consider for a moment that the only people who could possibly know this with any certainty are those that have personally treated the wound. Depending on the exact nature of the wound, not even DJT himself can know except by what he was told by his physician.
Now consider from whom you are hearing that DJT was in fact NOT struck by a bullet. Not one is speaking from a first or even secondhand account.
I’m curious, just in your opinion, that if his ear was struck by a fragment of the bullet after a ricocheted or a fragment of metal bleacher after the bullet ricocheted… what does that mean? Just in your opinionThis is mostly fair too. But I'm not hearing from anyone that he was NOT struck by a bullet, just that there is some question as to whether or not he was struck by a bullet.
It means trump didn't take a bullet for democracy.I’m curious, just in your opinion, that if his ear was struck by a fragment of the bullet after a ricocheted or a fragment of metal bleacher after the bullet ricocheted… what does that mean? Just in your opinion
You just regergitate MSNBC talking points.
Trump has never advocated for pulling out of NATO. If so, why didn’t he when he was President? He has pushed the members of NATO to properly fund the organization and to spend the agreed upon amounts to bolster their own defenses. It isn’t the Job of the US to provide for the military defense for everyone. Many if not most of the NATO members have not invested in their own defense and DJT is wright to call that out.
No one that is sane would say Trump wasn’t tough on the boarder. He had to fight the dems in court to put up sections of wall in the south west, he was finally able to do it, but they fought him every step of the way. The mere fact that over 9 million people have entered this country illegally through the southern boarder in the last 4 years and it was a fraction of that during Trump’s administration, should be enough to prove you don’t know what you are talking about.
Your list proves that you believe what you want to believe and much of it simply isn’t rooted in reality.
lol. He didn’t take a bullet period. He was simply shot at by a dumbass. Just like JFK. That’s what you sign up for if you’re president. It means trump didn't take a bullet for democracy.
Gotta disagree with this point. Jfk did take a bullet imo.lol. He didn’t take a bullet period. He was simply shot at by a dumbass. Just like JFK. That’s what you sign up for if you’re president.
Yeah but not for democracy. Presidents get shot at. Sometimes they get hit.Gotta disagree with this point. Jfk did take a bullet imo.
I’m mostly messing with you. You and probably disagree on a good bit. But I should respect your right to your point of view. Sometimes I fail at that. Anyway, it’s good to back and forth a little bit. I think we all want Clemson and America to do well. So we got that in common. We just look at things differently I suppose.😅oh okay, if that helps you
As always, I'm saying if Trump is going to go around saying he took a bullet for democracy as part of his campaign, it needs to be true. I've been consistent about that the entire time.Yeah but not for democracy. Presidents get shot at. Sometimes they get hit.
These guys weren’t fighting in WW2 protecting our country or in battle like Washington.
They got shot giving a speech/parading around. One got hit. One didn’t. Just random luck.
Getting hit in the head, shoulder, ear, etc doesn’t make you cooler. Had Trump died, he’d have still been a jackass. I just don’t get the argument.
**Edit: I guess you’re saying Trump is slightly more heroic if we find out the entire bullet grazed his ear vs a fragment grazing his ear?
I kind of view 'taking a bullet' as intentionally putting yourself in harms way to protect someone or something... There are dangers with running for president, or speaking in a big crowd, etc... But I don't view the scenario of a candidate being shot by a lunatic assassin as 'taking a bullet for...'Gotta disagree with this point. Jfk did take a bullet imo.
Exactly, and I'm cool with that too. Nobody's been more combative here than me, but I'm learning to respect others beliefs. I appreciate you. 🍻I’m mostly messing with you. I think Trump saying that is false no matter the circumstance. I think that is where we differ. As always, I'm saying if Trump is going to go around saying he took a bullet for democracy as part of his campaign, it needs to be true. I've been consistent about that the entire time.
I think you might just have to accept we don't see eye to eye on this.
They do accept a heck of a lot of risk though, and perhaps even more so in a lot of cases. One might also argue that continuing to go out on the campaign trail is more "heroic" (brave?) still now that the USSS has shown themselves to be incapable of stopping even a rather obvious and amateurish assassination attempt from a 20 year old.Yeah but not for democracy. Presidents get shot at. Sometimes they get hit.

Could it be that, like you assert, he is invested in the truth?
He became persona non grata for being dishonorable discharged from the navy, just ftr.Could it be that, like you assert, he is invested in the truth?
Also, its wild how narratives shift in politics. "Doc Ronny" was also Obama's physician, but apparently became persona non grata for being too chummy with Trump....or maybe he was a quack and a jerk that slipped through the cracks and the Top-Secret Single Scope background investigation with "Yankee-White" enhanced screening for being in close proximity to previous two Presidents while also ascending to the rank of Rear Admiraal (was it RADM, aka two-star Admiraal; or RDML, aka one-star Admiraal?).
Not really making a declaration either way on him, but I think we all have people we know in our own personal orbit that have seemingly been radicalized, often over a short period of time. And I don't think anyone would've expected Rudy G's trajectory either, for someone in the public sphere.Could it be that, like you assert, he is invested in the truth?

He retired as a Rear Admiral in 2019. He was administratively demoted to Captain (O-6) by SECNAV* in 2021. Therefore, he was most certainly NOT dishonorably discharged. The whole 'administrative' demotion thing is quite perplexing. Generally, one is not demoted without a trial. Also, one typically retires at the highest rank held. So his retired pay and benefits may well still be that of a Rear Admiral. He became persona non grata for being dishonorable discharged from the navy, just ftr.
Safest border since last administration. As always, I'm saying if Trump is going to go around saying he took a bullet for democracy as part of his campaign, it needs to be true. I've been consistent about that the entire time.

Well there you go. Truth. I was wrong. I knew he was totally disgraced but I had my facts wrong. He retired as a Rear Admiral in 2019. * Secretary of the Navy is political appointment.
Maybe I came off as nitpicking., but as one who served for over 24 years, a dishonorable discharge is a huge distinction from a one-grade demotion. And this was an administrative demotion done apparently at sole discretion of the Secretary of the Navy, a political appointee; and apparently this was done without a trial. If this does not reek of politics, then you either have a cold or are just used to the smell.Well there you go. Truth. I was wrong. I knew he was totally disgraced but I had my facts wrong.
So it was or wasn't a Muslim ban @tboonpickens?He's the one that called it a "Muslim ban" and still continues to use that language today. If you think he's lying, take it up with him.
Executive Order 13769, titled Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States, labeled the "Muslim ban" by Donald Trump and his supporters[1][2] and critics alike,[3][4] and commonly known as such,[5] or commonly referred to as the Trump travel ban, or Trump Muslim travel ban, was an executive order by President Trump.
During his initial election campaign Trump had proposed a temporary, conditional, and "total and complete" ban on Muslims entering the United States.[32][38][39][40] His proposal was met by opposition by U.S. politicians including Mike Pence and James Mattis.[38][41]
Agree 100%. In 1992 the first bush stopped in my home town while taking a train ride through Georgia. He came out and spoke to the crowd from the back of the train. My wife and her mother went. They were standing there waiting for president Bush to arrive and a man standing next to them had come while out for lunch. He took out a banana from his brown paper bag lunch and was going to eat it. Secret service came out and took the banana and his lunch. Yet this man was allowed to fly a drone and use a range finder and no one did anything. Each Additional information I get makes it sketchier and sketchier. I want to know who gave the ok for Trump to go on stage and where did he get his orders to allow him too. Too much incompetence and lack of planning and resources.Let me start by saying I'm apolitical. I can't stand most politicians equally. But this thread has my attention because it is hard to imagine so many stars aligning perfectly for a 20 year old kids to pull this off on his own.
With that out the way. What you've said here is exactly what the democrats did in 2020. The field "dropped out" before super Tuesday to pave the path for Biden. Even Buttigieg who was leading after the 1st 2 primaries. Everyone that would've taken votes from Biden were out. That left Biden, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders as the contenders through Super Tuesday. Obviously Sanders and Warren split votes in some critical states on Super Tuesday that arguably changed the momentum and complexion of the election.
In my opinion, the powers within the democratic party did not want to go that far left with sanders/warren so the field was set so it couldnt happen. The difference between that and the republican primaries this year is that no republican candidate was ever within 20 points of Trump. He won every primary but 1. The field dropped because they couldn't compete.
I'll go beyond that and say that i think Harris is the third consecutive candidate hand selected by the party, not the people. The timing of Bidens "decision " allowed for that.
In 2016 Clinton had control of the huge majority of DNC funds for the full primary season long before she became the nominee. That's usually not the case until after a candidate becomes the nominee. And we've all seen the email leaks confirming the party was working to make sure Clinton won. Sanders was a huge threat and may well have won with a level playing field.
I didn't take it as nitpicking. It definitely makes a difference. Agree to disagree on the restMaybe I came off as nitpicking., but as one who served for over 24 years, a dishonorable discharge is a huge distinction from a one-grade demotion. Then you should stop listening to anything from Biden's staff or the press because both groups have lied to us for at least a couple of years about Biden's mental capability. It ain't just me. There is a groundswell of people calling for more transparency on this. People who tell me the truth doesn't matter are people I cease to trust or take all that seriously.
Huh?Then you should stop listening to anything from Biden's staff or the press because both groups have lied to us for at least a couple of years about Biden's mental capability.
Never banned Muslims. He did ban temporarily travel from a handful of countries with high terroristic event rates with Muslim folk never specified. You are completely wrong. Muslims from nearly all countries were free to travel to the US under Trump.Huh?
pulling out of NATO- Trump has made comments about this subject numerous times, including saying that he would tell Putin to do "whatever the hell he wants" to NATO members.
kissing up to autocrats like Putin and Orban- Trump has had Orban at MAL at least twice and told the whole world while at the summit in Europe that he trusted Putin's intel over his own agencies. He regularly talks about his admiration for "strongmen" and last week was doing the same with Jinping.
being in bed with Heritage Foundation nutjobs- he's all over the place with this now that there's been such tremendous blowback to their idiotic agenda, but he's appeared at their functions and been on stage thanking their leaders numerous times. The guy that used to carry his bag for him in the WH as a close personal assistant is on staff there in a prominent role, and one outlet uncovered 140 people who used to work in the Trump administration who have contributed to Project 2025 for the Heritage Foundation, including miscreants like Stephen Miller and Mark Meadows...but Trump doesn't know anything about it lol.
refusing to acknowledge he lost 2020 election- i mean DUH he says this crap all the time
putting his SIL, both sons, and daughter in WH roles- do you really want to question me on this one? most people would find installing your family in the WH as weird, but it's just another day in the MAGA cult. Meanwhile his SIL magically gets a $2B nest egg from the people who helped plan 9/11 when he leaves office. nothing suspicious there.
installing his DIL as RNC co-chair- again, are you disputing a literal fact here? anyone outside the cult finds it highly questionable to install the Botox lady in such a role within the RNC.
funneling RNC funds to his legal cases- this has been well documented repeatedly, which isn't shocking considering who he put in as co-chair. Other downstream Rs have voiced concerns that their campaigns will suffer because so much of the money is being funneled to him.
Muslim ban- He literally created an executive order for this move during his first term and continues to say he will do it again. This info is easily verifiable. How do you even try to dispute it?
disastrous tariffs- Trump's tariffs that he put in place in his first term have been universally panned by economists, and it's estimated that Americans paid an extra $230 billion as a result of his tariffs. The tariffs were also responsible for a net loss in jobs in affected regions. Economists are warning that his new tariff plans would have similarly terrible economic consequences and likely contribute to increased inflation.
overturning Roe v Wade- he brags about this all the time, and we know that the majority of Americans disagree with this position. the fact that a godless heathen who banged a pornstar without protection spearheaded this reversal is the coup de grace.
picking a VP who wants to end no-fault divorces and that battered wives should remain in marriages- JD Vance is literally on video and in print espousing these positions. How is that not factual? He literally said these things more than once.
considering IVF/contraception bans- Trump is once again on the record as saying he will consider these things. Straight from the horse's mouth in interviews. He's all over the place because he lies like he breathes, so I have seen him deny it occasionally, but then he also confirms it depending on the day and his whims.
claiming climate change isn't real- Trump literally called the concept of climate change a "hoax" during a live Fox News interview and has repeated that claim many other places. In 2018 he made news by saying he didn't believe his own government's report warning about issues related to climate change.
dining with avowed Neo-nazis at MAL- In November of 2022, Trump dined with Nick Fuentes who is an avowed white nationalist and Holocaust denyer at MAL. He has long had an association with the Proud Boys, so this wasn't out of character for him. Again, this is a literal fact.
fundamentally downplaying science including saying he will defund schools that require ordinary vaccine- He has been repeating the line about defunding schools for over a year now. His PR initially claimed he was only talking about Covid, but Trump has since then blurred the lines and extended his rhetoric to all vaccines, with health officials saying such a move would be disastrous in keeping diseases that have been largely eradicated for decades at bay.
I've been told facts don't care about your feelings. Sometimes the truth hurts. It frequently does for Trump.
I'll bite... Because he was being shot at? How do you know it wasn't a bullet? How do you know it wasn't a bullet fragment? Was he not injured enough for you? You are usually fairly rational with your thoughts but you are trying too hard on this...That's a good question. Someone should ask Trump why he claimed it was a bullet rather than a fragment of something else.
I'm not doing this again. Several others already bit, just read the thread.I'll bite... Because he was being shot at? How do you know it wasn't a bullet? How do you know it wasn't a bullet fragment? Was he not injured enough for you? You are usually fairly rational with your thoughts but you are trying too hard on this...
I have read the thread... And you implied that Trump was somehow embellishing the fact that he had been shot... Whether it was a bullet or a fragment will never be known, but he had a piece of his ear obliterated and that fact is irrefutable... It's a fvcking miracle he is alive...I'm not doing this again. Several others already bit, just read the thread.
And there is nothing at all irrational about anything I'm saying.
Never banned Muslims. He did ban temporarily travel from a handful of countries with high terroristic event rates with Muslim folk never specified. You are completely wrong. Muslims from nearly all countries were free to travel to the US under Trump.
Never wanted to pull out of NATO. He made a joking remark that the US ought to pull out if European countries did not start to pair their share of the budget which they had not for decades. MSNBC and CNN misinterpreted the joke and imbecile viewers drink the Kool Aid. Guess what? Under Trump, they did pay up. Guess what else? Under the weak leadership of Biden, they quit paying again so that the burden of defending the West falls largely on US taxpayers.
Roe vs Wade was a wrong verdict to start with according to many constitutional scholars by an activist Supreme Court. This should always have been a state issue and now once again is.
Lots about climate change is unsure and unsettled. I acknowledge climate change and global warming. The earth's climate has always changed toward alternating warming and ice ages. Why has the earth been warming long before human agriculture, technology and especially fossil fuels were every burned for the first time?
Your list is crummy. Your explanations are even worse. Not even one is accurate. I ain't got time to go on.
Biden largely continued the Trump tariffs- because they had the desired effect. US economy growing. Chinese economy shrinking since the tariffs began.
If you watch MSNBC- pathetic.
You're debating a MORONDid you really qualify your statement with “in all likelihood” as if there is some other remote possibilty that the shooter was not in fact trying to shoot Trump?
Also - the only photos of an undamaged ear that are being circulated are being debunked by national media as being several years old.
One of the worse in the boardI didn’t have tboonpickens as being a giant liberal on my bingo card
Irrefutable? Why don't you check out any of the pictures of his ear from the meeting with Bibi that are circulating, where you can clearly see his ear is not only not obliterated, but entirely intact, and get back to me on the Irrefutable thing?I have read the thread... And you implied that Trump was somehow embellishing the fact that he had been shot... Whether it was a bullet or a fragment will never be known, but he had a piece of his ear obliterated and that fact is irrefutable... It's a fvcking miracle he is alive...
