FPOTUS Trump attempted assassination…

Goodness, I didn't mean to imply you owed me anything. We are just having a conversation. I like the Heritage Foundation. Them along with Mises Institutile are among my preferred think tanks. If there is something I am missing, I'd like to hear it.

Which think tanks or comprehensive policy do you find favor with? Maybe we can go from there? Please don't tell me you only things you are against, but have nothing to noffer it it's place.
uFkIf you don't like being pressed on it, that's fine too. We can move on. Maybe someone else will chime in. I, for one, am not offended to have my core convictions challenged and I do not enjoy speaking into an echo chamber. If not Project 25, what is a good alternative?
All due respect, if you like The Heritage Foundation, you'll be totally on board with whatever becomes of project 2025, in the event that Trump wins, so you won't have to worry about the consequences.

The Heritage Foundation is Project 2025. So stop trying to pretend you're just engaging in reasonable political discourse. You're selling fascism, and it's disgusting, and I'm not having this conversation anymore. Grow up and act like you're talking to another educated adult.

So you are saying you are scared he will nuke a hurricane? Also, how would a differnt vp allow him to overturn an election? For that matter, why is overturning an election even a fear since he can not serve another term?

Give me ONE example of something you think he is going to do in his second term that you are so afraid of.
Holy shit, I'm not going to keep talking in circles with you but many of us believe the "other" interpretation of Trump's statement last night and his VP pick has already insinuated he'd go along with Trump's seditious plans.

I was making a funny with the hurricane line SMH.

So let's summarize just what Project 25 espouses so we can engage on specifics:

So....
1) restoring the family as the centerpiece of American life
2) Dismantling the administrative state
3) Defending the nation's sovereignty and borders
4) Securing God-given individual rights to live freely

Is this really all that radical? Maybe you don't trust the people behind it, and that's fair. I don't either. I fully intend to watch them closely and do my part to hold them accountable. We all should.
Come on man. Gtfoh with that bs

Heritage 100% wrote Project 25. I did not realize this was in doubt.

Not sure why you so quickly pivoted to a personal attack, but I am trying to have an adult conversation. Feel free to ignore futher conversation, but to those who do what to continue down this topic....

To okclem's point about fascism, in order to be a fascist one most first be a statist (insofar as fascism asserts the primacy of the state before elevating it as the main source of militaristic national pride). No organization is more anti-statist than The Mises Institutile. Heritage is not far behind. Dismantlement of the administrative state is the antithesis to statism, and it's close sibling, fascism. I suppose it's reasonable to question if this is what this particular think tank truly aims to achieve, but the sentiment is most certainly mainstream (as are the other 3 summary points of Project '25).

Just literally copying and pasting and still pretending that we don't see right through this facade.

What an innocent, sanitized version of the plan you have. Have you considered what it means by dismantling the administrative state? It means replacing tens of thousands of federal employeees with maga loyalists who are currently being vetted with a litmus test question that asks them if they believe the 2020 election was stolen. It means a cabinet full of loyal ghouls who won't stand in the way of his revengeful plans and he's even stated he wants to move 100,000 federal employees to maga-land in Texas/Oklahoma. You might love that if your interest in politics revolves around owning the libs but that's not good for anyone except Trump himself and could have ugly unforeseen consequences down the road.

WHAT ARE THE PROJECT'S MAIN PROPOSALS?

Project 2025's policy suggestions range in topic from foreign affairs to education.
Among other things, Project 2025 proposes enforcing laws that make it illegal to mail abortion pills over state lines, criminalizing pornography and eliminating the Department of Education.
The project also advocates a sweeping elimination of environmental regulations and a crackdown on programs to boost diversity in the workplace, which the project argues are broadly illegal.
The project also calls for a broad expansion in presidential power by boosting the number of political appointees and increasing the president's authority over the Justice Department. That last proposal has spooked many law enforcement officials, who say it will undermine the department's ability to conduct investigations without political interference.

  • Project 2025 echoes Donald Trump’s critical view of the media. As a result, it proposes to strip public broadcasting of its funding and legal status, thus endangering access to reliable news for American citizens.
  • The authors allege that Big Tech colluded with the government to attack American values and advance “wokeism.” In response, they envision sweeping antitrust enforcement not on economic grounds, but for socio-political reasons.
  • On artificial intelligence policy, Project 2025 remains vague and fails to propose solutions for key policy areas such as privacy, safety, and the information ecosystem. Lagging on AI oversight and dismantling existing protections is dangerous for individuals and democracies alike.
i didn't read all this but you highlighted the words: Dismantling the Administrative State.
you do realize that is part of draining the swamp--right?
it means replacing the washington DC federal employees who are 95% democrats and only make decisions and do work that promotes socialist ideals (which are becoming more and more left-leaning).
our country is probably 33% republican, 33% democrat, 33%independent. what sense does it make that the federal employees in washington are 95% democrats??? wouldn't our country be better off if the beaurocrats running the agencies reflected the makeup of americans? i'm not advocating they be 95% republicans---i'm saying something that would reflect the values of average americans.

How do you know the political make-up of all the civil servants in the federal government? Where did you get those stats? The vast majority of federal employees are just decent Americans who love their country and want to serve. Their positions are inherently apolitical and their allegiance to a party is not monolithic.

In fact, only 43% identify as Democrats and the other 57% identify as Independent and Republican. Draining the swamp means removing anyone from the government that might not go along with Donald's crime spree, no matter their affiliation.

How would it be smart to remove all those experienced, dedicated servants to replace them all with maga loyalists who believe the election was stolen? Would that be good for our country? And if so, why? Donald is NOT our country and the government should not be turned upside down to serve him and him alone.

The ‘woke’ bureaucracy? How feds lean
"About 43% of respondents said they planned to vote Democrat this year compared to 33% Republican and 16% independent."

Yes of course, anyone who doesn't share your views is trolling 😅
Like my “view” that it was an obvious attempt on his life and bullets flew all around the man’s head and common sense tells any normal breathing human that he was hit by a bullet or bullet fragment? Yeah. Either that person is trolling, blinded by ideology (I think this is you and many in this thread) or a big dumb dipshit.

You're wasting your time. There is zero effort at legitimate discussion in this thread.

washington dc voted 92% for biden in 2020
they voted 89% for john kerry.

facts

washington dc voted 92% for biden in 2020
they voted 89% for john kerry.

facts
- 85% of federal employees live outside of Washington DC
- Democrat does not equal socialist
- Removing federal civil service protections from good employees and replacing them because they don't believe the election was stolen is obscene

Look at this, just bald-faced lying here. You say you don't trust the people behind it, and only a few posts later you're gushing over the think tank(s) behind it, as well as advocating for it. It continues to astonish me, on an almost daily basis, how y'all pretend to engage in thoughtful political discourse thinking none of us see right through you.

It's like a toddler getting caught with his hand in the friggin cookie jar and still insisting "no I'm not." I'm embarrassed for you on your behalf, since you genuinely seem to have no shame.

I also love how you think this market-research based scripted speech is fooling anyone. You have a script, and it's clearly something you've posted about a lot, which means you're more than just an impartial advocate who thinks making America great again sounds like a perfectly reasonable idea.

Y'all ain't gonna pull this off.

Edit - I just noticed you've been calling it Project 25 this whole time. The only people I've seen calling it Project 25 are its biggest advocates. Do you work directly for, or are you somehow otherwise tangentially involved with, Project 2025?

Anyway, I am trying to understand what you are so threatened by what is otherwise pretty mainstream (aka populist) views?
Here's another trick these people try to pull. They conflate the meanings of words and just assume it for everyone, so you don't bother wondering if mainstream and populist actually do mean the same thing.

Mainstream in no way, shape, or form shares the same meaning or definition as populist, not in the political sense. In the political sense, populism is far removed from mainstream. Fascism loves to redefine the definitions and meanings of words for the volk.

@leetp You are a very dishonest person. I'll be checking you from now on.

Oh hey here is dipshit again talking about how he only loses when people cheat. This moron is in a state that has voted Dem in every presidential elections since 1976, but he says the only way he'll lose MN is if "they" cheat.

Come on in here @leetp and tell us how this actually does make good sense for a healthy democracy if you just think about it.

Fellas, Trump and maga have entered the endgame phase.

Imagine if Dabo came out before the UGA game and told everyone the only way we lose is if the refs cheat for UGA? How well would that be received?

It's sad that these MAGA cultists have higher standards for a football coach than the leader of the free world.

🤣very true and I'm only laughing thinking about which fan base would get more upset if Dabo said that, and I think it would of course be South Carolina.

Considering that this thread is now 100% off the rails, can we now discuss the possibility that we are absolutely living in a simulation???

Honestly, I may be more convinced of that than anything else in the previous 28 pages here.

We've discussed this before already. If Trump is given four more years to meddle with our institutions, I wouldn't put anything past him based on what he's already tried to do. I would expect him to model the Orban strategy of removing barriers that prevent him from concentrating more power in the executive branch. We already know that he admires the man and his acolytes have made several pilgrimages to Hungary to study the methods Orban used in preparation to adopt them in a second term. Vance won't stand in his way.

Yeah bc Hungary's constitution is exactly like ours, lol. Anything orban did trump could do right? What can Vance, or any other cabinet member, stop if they wanted to that you are so afraid of? Give me a specific example of how you are afraid he would end our democracy and become a king/tyrant. Even though I have asked this repeatedly, you won't answer the question bc if you stop to try and think of something legitimate you realize how insane it sounds. You and your party continually spout unfounded "end of democracy" rhetoric without actually giving a single example of what that could possibly be.

This is not dungeons and dragons. Trump does not get to roll the dice and gain some kind of magical power if he wins. You either have zero understanding of our constitution, live in some alternate universe of facts, or simply knowingly fearmonger hyperbolic bs you know is not possible.
