Maybe I just know a particular demographic of people but by now I would've thought that almost everyone knows someone who has been significantly impacted by Covid.

I think most of us have heard similar stories. However, would it be fair to say that there are also people that died from complications of Covid, but never went to a doctor or hospital, so therefore wouldn't be added to the count?

I think we all know that there is no way we know the EXACT number of deaths, but I have no problem trusting the number issued by the CDC as I think it all comes out in the wash. Until proven inaccurate by legit evidence, I think it is a good indicator of how many lives were ended due to us living during Covid.

Ironically, the ones that always scoffed at the "positive cases" number when this thing was real political are now the ones quoting the low case number to justify the rapid reopening of society. It's the same folks counting. How were they so wrong in 2020, but now dead on in 2021?
