As I've said over and over ITT, I dont think any of us should be okay with persecution of political opponents. Regardless of which side you are on. This is what happens in third world countries.

The problem is so many Americans still have Trump derangement syndrome and are willing to be okay with this type of thing because they have so much hatred for him and this is personal.
I don’t disagree with you, I also believe that every American should be alarmed when a politician openly attempts to use the government to persecute their political opponents.

So given this principled stance you’re taking, I’m assuming you didn’t vote for Trump at all since he openly bragged that he would direct the FBI to bring charges against his political opponents. Would I be correct in that assumption?

Sorry but I’m gonna have to take “real world legitimate” with a grain of salt when it comes from someone who still believes Trump’s election fraud claims.
I do believe the election was stolen and I meant what I said related to a legitimate prosecution which this is not unless there is a smoking gun in the sealed indictment. You realize that recent polls show that a majority of the population believes the election was stolen? I am not sitting on a limb by myself hoss and I do also think a lot of your opinions are flat wrong.

Based on what evidence?

Hope you had this same energy in 2016 when Trump was saying very loudly that he would use the DOJ to pursue the Clintons and other political rivals.

That's a joke. He never said HE would use the doj to go after political enemies. BTW how in the hell could he do it when the entire system is hostile to him and actively going after when he was the sitting potus? Use at least a little logic bro and quit throwing g weak shit at us.

He has probably also paid for dozens of abortions... You guys kill me with your moral gymnastics to justify electing a truly evil, despicable person. Adultery, fornication with porn stars while his wife was pregnant, but you dislike Obama...

Where were you when he was faking being a Christian?
Exactly. I hear this all the time. We know he's a scumbag con man, but he'll get us that ban on abortion. They don't care about the country or democracy, as long as they can make women have them babies.....

Trump Lawyer: No Plea Deal in Case Related to Stormy Daniels ‘Hush Payment’ (VIDEO)

By Cristina Laila Mar. 31, 2023 11:45 am

IMG_3939-1.jpg

Trump will not take a plea deal in the Stormy Daniels ‘hush payment’ case, according to the former president’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina.
Trump has been accused of paying porn star Stormy Daniels, AKA, Stephanie Clifford, ‘hush payments’ through his then-attorney Michael Cohen in a scheme to silence her and stop the story about their alleged affair from being published in the National Enquirer.
The payments made to Stormy Daniels did NOT come from Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

The payments were made through internal business records – there was no tax deduction taken and there was no obligation to file it with the FEC, according to Joe Tacopina.

A Manhattan Grand Jury voted to indict President Trump anyway.

The indictment is currently under seal, however, according to a leak to CNN, President Trump was hit with 34 counts related to business fraud.

Details of the charges are still not known.

Per CBS: “Sources familiar with the investigation tell CBS tonight that Bragg has some documents that have been uncovered during the probe but are not yet known to the public/been reported, both financial records and communications between key figures… will use these as well as testimony”

President Trump’s lawyer Joe Tacopina said Trump will not take a plea deal.

“Zero! Zero!” Tacopina said. “President Trump will not take a plea deal in this case.”

Exactly. I hear this all the time. We know he's a scumbag con man, but he'll get us that ban on abortion. They don't care about the country or democracy, as long as they can make women have them babies.....
Let's flip it. What has Joe done that makes you happy? Fyi....abortion issue is nowhere near my top voting consideration. Economy is my number one issue and southern border is my number two issue.

I think this is actually great for the US. Finally there will be precedent to hold our politicians accountable and even 7 years after the fact.

I am excited for the impending lawsuits against the Clintons and Bidens. Also the insider trading charges against over 50% of the congress members that are still alive.

I am sure there are charges that can be levied against the Bushs and Obamas as well.

Can we now get the Pedo island criminal charges put in motion?

For so long our politicians have been above the law. I think congress should also get rid of the presidential pardons that have been abused for ever.

Politicians have been playing by different rules than the populace and this could be the first step in righting many of these wrongs.

I am really looking forward to when George Soros is no longer able to fund his own legal army around the country.

It is so funny that this precedent will be made over such a meaningless and minimal issue such as $130k for something that happened before he was even president and something that while if true would be a crime, but such a low level crime especially when this DA is letting criminals that have committed much higher level crimes walk free. That is why this is a political and personal attack. It is straight hypocrisy from this DA.
Omg dude, are you seriously that dumb? Such broad, grandiose statements without any fact. Why don't you idiots move to another country? Where you can establish that white male taliban like culture. You're what's wrong with America not the "others". You just can't get that can you?

Can you provide a link to that poll, please? TIA

Sorry dude but it has nothing to do with the media, but what we witnessed with our very own eyes. We saw how it destroyed friendships and even fractured our families. We were filled with rage every day as he attacked us with juvenile insults. We were in total disbelief on a regular basis that anyone so stupid, hateful and corrupt had such a passionate fanbase that would do anything to protect him no matter how despicable he became. We were stunned that such a man could turn 45% of the country into an actual cult that would burn it all down for his lies....and he wouldn't even apologize for it. Orange man is worse than bad, he's historically divisive and a danger to this country. Sad that you would try to provide cover for such a man - he is reaping what he sowed.
Bravo. Well said.

This is the only thing I can find now on a quick search stating over 40% in this poll. There was an article I read from awhile back stating a slightly 50+ majority but I can't find it now. Suffice to say it's into the tens of millions no matter how you slice it. This is not a good thing no.matter what.

Trump statement on the judge. I would bet a lot of money that the judge puts the gag order on Trump. I think a gag order should be unconstitutional.

“The Judge “assigned” to my Witch Hunt Case, a “Case” that has NEVER BEEN CHARGED BEFORE, HATES ME. His name is Juan Manuel Marchan, was hand picked by Bragg & the Prosecutors, & is the same person who “railroaded” my 75 year old former CFO, Allen Weisselberg, to take a “plea” deal (Plead GUILTY, even if you are not, 90 DAYS, fight us in Court, 10 years (life!) in jail. He strong armed Allen, which a judge is not allowed to do, & treated my companies, which didn’t “plead,” VICIOUSLY. APPEALING!” Trump said in a Truth Social post on Friday morning.

Gag order incoming…

No wonder you love this guy. He writes with the skills of a first grader. How are you not embarrassed by that guy. It's laughable.

Fortunately, tens of millions of people believing something doesn’t make it true.

No court cases. All were dismissed due to.lack of standing. You have no idea what has occurred at all and do not care.
Do you truly understand what “lack of standing” means or are you just parroting what you’ve read TGP say?

That’s a rhetorical question because we both know you don’t have a clue what it actually means

I know what it means. It was a way for crooked judges to dismiss the case. It is also linked though to the house declaring emergency rules on j6 and thus the challenge to the eye tion not being heard.

Actually I've only heard him call you dumb...

Really hard to argue his point.

A jury decided that there was enough evidence to indict. To answer your question, yes, it's ethical to investigate when there is a reasonable cause to believe a crime has been committed.
I asked you a very specific question and I worded it the way I did for a reason. It’s important to establish a common ground in discussion. The question was is it an attack on a persons natural rights in a free nation to target an individual to find a crime? do we prosecute the crime or do we prosecute the person

It's an attack on somebody's rights if you pull them off the street without cause. You're painting the present situation as if it occurred under similar circumstances. There was suspicion that a crime had been committed, the matter was investigated further, a jury decided to indict, and both parties will have their day in court. Hardly North Korea.

Drawing the divide that you do between the two is unnatural. They accompany each other.

He wasn’t living with his family. You clearly aren’t aware of the story. He was in no danger because the Nazis thought he was a Christian.

Edit: he was also 14.
lol he was in no danger as a Jew masquerading as a Christian in Nazi controlled Hungary. Listen to yourself. Like I agree that Soros is probably a monster, but not for the reasons you do. The man is a pure capitalist. Trump wishes he had his ability. Now, also screw Soros for him showing how to gamify and speculate their way towards untold billions while sinking others.

I don’t call everyone dumb. In fact, I don’t even call you dumb. I’ve made it well known I consider you a troll, bc I can’t fathom someone being sincere in the beliefs you have.

It’s also clear you don’t know what it means, but that’s expected.

Wrong again.

Michael Cohen went to jail for this, then he stood up in court and dropped the dime on his capo trump. At that point it was investigating the crime, not the person.

Yes. everybody listen to this guy.

When he pleaded guilty last year, Flynn admitted to lying during an FBI interview about the content of his conversations with Sergey Kislyak, Russia’s ambassador to the U.S.

According to his plea , Flynn discussed U.S. sanctions with Kislyak on Trump’s behalf during the presidential transition and said members of the president’s inner circle were aware of, and in some cases directing, his efforts. Flynn had urged Kislyak not to respond to sanctions imposed by the Obama administration in response to Russian election interference.

When confronted by FBI agents about the conversations, court papers say Flynn made “material false statements and omissions”, which impeded what was then an FBI counterintelligence investigation. That probe was later taken over by Mueller, who has brought indictments against Russians that detail a broad campaign to attempt to help Trump’s candidacy and hurt Clinton’s during the 2016 presidential campaign.
