This is wrong. God gave Adam, Eve. Many men in the Bible took concubines. That doesn’t mean God approved of it.
But he spoke/gave visions directly to David. He dealt harshly with his other sin, but then called David a man after his heart.

Just saying, it reads to me like God had much higher concerns that David’s monogamy

These guys have no idea that their Bible (King James) is heavily redacted compared to the original writings. Want the closest to the original? Learn my

Do you know what the original Hebrew texts say about Sodom and Gomorrah? What was the actual sin that was taking place?

Don’t get me wrong, I believe in God, and Jesus, and that Jesus died for my sins. But I also believe in tracing texts back to their origin and trying my to get as close to the source as possible, because organized religion can have ulterior motives.
So. What did it say. What was the sin

That’s the rub…depends on the translation. Some scholars point to Ezekiel which says this about Sodom "This was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty, and did abominable things before me; therefore I removed them when I saw it." Scholars point to prophetic writings that say it was adultery, dishonesty, and uncharitableness.

Why did you change what my post says. It's says learn Greek

Also the Old Testament wasn’t written in Greek… fyi. An exegesis using Hebrew would be more beneficial. Edit: luckily scholars have uncovered manuscripts from the original languages much older than the KJV or even the Geneva Bible.

Wasn’t Clemson founded by some questionable characters?
Pretty sure. Certainly via the 134 year lens. From donor to governor to legislators. Only thing is they were the only ones with money, land, power, and means to do anything like founding a land grant school. We have to own it and continue to excel.

Never said it was. Of the current writings, Greek is closer. The majority of the new testament was not written in Hebrew

Right. I will admit I have a degree in theology. Only contemporary writers believe that. Even they don’t argue that immoral sexuality was the root of Sodom’s issues the modern/contemporary writers point out that Ezekiel didn’t mention it in chapter 16

You think Chadwell takes a dead end job in Columbia after they passed on home during the last coaching search?

Not going to happen.
Yep, if Napier struggles could see him at Florida .

Chadwell is probably making with bonuses around $4m .

I'm pretty sure you don't understand Sodom and Gomorrah or your listening to the wrong people about it.
Could you explain it?

You tell me. Who do you believe wields the power? The gay people? The minorities? Tell me how you're a victim.....

I’m not a victim. Neither is my immigrant family or my minority children. You can’t yoke us to that weak mind set and we don’t need a white savior to do any punching for us.

But this wasn’t about me.

I asked you a question. Don’t back down now.

As far as I can tell he thinks the story didn’t involve Abraham and wasn’t written about extensively and mentioned many more times in several books in the Old Testament. But I might have misinterpreted his sidestep.

Lmao, okay. See that quick edit. I asked you. I never said anything about minorities being weak or gay people being weak. Who do you think holds power. You think you can ask me questions and I can't ask you the same?

Right, and that immoral sexuality referenced in Genesis is translated to rape, and gang rape (men going around raping other men that were “guests”), not that God was angry with homosexuals.

Again, not arguing for/against homosexuality, just pointing out how the Bible can get twisted

Sounds like you skipped biology.

Humans were given special dignity in being created in God’s image not through evolution. So you can believe you’re a hairless monkey or a scaleless fish, but “natures way” is heterosexual, no homosexual union ever produced the next generation. So it sounds like YOU skipped biology, or are just ignorant to the fact that Homosexuality is literally a genetic dead end.

Oh no! An edit! 🙄 Yes I edited to add the last two lines when I forgot to add that you had failed to answer my question.

Of course you can ask questions. The post you just quoted includes an answer to a question you asked, 😂

You’re just trying to pick up a shield and put down your shovel now.

What I won’t do is answer the question I first asked you while you ignore it.

Edit- just because I can

Are you under the impression that the LGBTQ doesn’t wield considerable power in the US?

Incorrect. The finding of the Dead Sea scrolls confirmed the earliest manuscript evidence of the scriptures.
There are variants between the scrolls and the Bible. A lot of these variants are not significant, but some are. There are texts out there (Google Biblical Qumran Scrolls) that discuss this.

With all due respect, the Bible could not be more clear on this issue. Old and New Testaments alike. Read about Sodom and Gomorrah in the Old Testament. Did not end well. Sin is sin, whether you or I like it or not. Sorry I could not let that go. Gods design is clear if we are willing to look for it.
Old Testament has nothing to do with it. Death of Christ on the cross served as the penultimate sacrifice to satisfy Mosaic Law. Ever noticed how Churches aren’t making burnt grain offerings or sacrificing goats every time a woman has her period, or aren’t stoning kids the second they mouth off to their parents?

If you’re going to start whipping the Bible out, you should probably know what you’re talking about. Why do you think the Pharisees, scribes, and Sadducees were against Jesus and His teachings? Because he proclaimed that final authority rested with the Father, not within the Law that the priestly caste was charged with enforcing.

Jesus also preached a morality greater than the law.

I do love seeing so much bad exegesis on TI. Never expected to find it here.

While I liked your post, I do want to point out that the mosaic law was given (knowing Christ would need to come) to show how incapable humans are from living a sinless life and that Jesus doubled down on that later when he made it even harder by stating that if you’ve hated in your heart you’re guilty of murder, lusted - adultery, envy - theft, etc
