The info comes from official state and federal sites. Thats the root of the info. Most times the first source isnt the root source you have to dig deeper to the root. That requires some work on your part and most people are lazy. Spend too much time reading the leaves and not looking at the roots...

Trouble is, this has nothing to do with attempts to create new voter registrations. This is a resource provided by the Social Security Administration which can be used by state or county election officials to verify registrations.
Most likely this sudden spike in verification transactions from Missouri is the result of state election officials checking the validity of registrations that have been flagged due to inactivity. In some states (hopefully most), there are a certain number of years of inactivity that trigger a change to classify the registration as inactive or remove it from the voter rolls if its validity can't be verified through a specified process. This SSA system is one way that validity of registrations can be checked, to see if there's a basis to remove them from the rolls for any reason (e.g. dead, re-registered in another state).
