Southern Border Invasion

Again, since it is hard to comprehend, We REALLY don't know except what the FAIR media wants us to know. Biden pledging to fix what he screwed up is laughable. But you keep on believing the shit he ( or some unelected staffer) is spewing.
How do you know it's hard to comprehend if you haven't read it? Listen man, you can still hate all the same people even if it passes, so if you really care about doing something, reject the maga doctrine of doing nothing and pressure your representatives to pass it. Biden hasn't been on record before now saying he'd shut the border down but now that he's said it, wouldn't it be better to give him a chance or would it be better to cry?

According to that article, it sounds like border patrol and immigration services need more funding and employees to help curb these issues. Luckily the new Dem immigration proposal addresses these exact things!
Biden can simply reverse the EO's he killed his first few days in office he gave two sh*ts about the border.

The GOP should hold the line. That bill sends 5x the money to Ukraine than it does our own border security, it also doesn't add a great deal of fortfication to the border, it adds judges and processing to ensure we get them through the system faster.

This is what democrats want you to think is a good bill. They think you are stupid, of which many of you are.

No he can't just reverse them but even if he could, the border needs to be funded and an executive order can't do that. It can also be challenged in court. You can't just wait for Trump to do it because he may not win and even if he does, he'll probably lose the majority in the House, which means nothing will get done.

Advocating holding the line means you really don't consider it to be an emergency but only highlights that this is just politics to you.

Trump persuaded Mexico to do it. Step up to the plate China Joe.

There are many more encounters than we had then, and again, it would require funding to enforce. You're also not giving the agents the cutting edge tools they need to stop the flow of fentanyl. Stop pretending this is simple without passing new laws.

Waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. You and Biden want your mommies. Its too hard what Trump did.

We’re clearly not going to come to terms on this. Republicans want Biden to issue an Executive Order (the irony is not lost on me), and dems (myself specifically) would prefer to see a bipartisan bill pass. It also adds an additional 1300 CBP agents and 100 fentanyl scanners to the border, in addition to the “judges and processing” you mentioned.

I also don’t have an issue with sending more funds to Ukraine as I think it’s in our country’s best interest to continue draining Russia of its resources.

Grift much?
Nothing involving grift w my comment. Disingenuous would’ve been better since I was clearly throwing shade at the entirety of republicans instead of the maga minority that keeps publicly saying they won’t do anything bipartisan. It’s what happens when your party elects unserious people to positions of power because of grievance politics.

We dont want him to issue an executive order. We want him to enforce the laws on the books.

Step 1) Require proof of asylum claims.

It needs to be funded because they don't have enough personnel to do this in a timely, efficient manner.

What we know

While the text of the bill has not been finalized, Biden ticked off the major points during that appearance in South Carolina:
  • “It includes an additional 1,300 Border Patrols — we need more agents on the border;
  • 375 immigration judges to judge whether or not someone can come or not come and be fair about it;
  • 1,600 asylum officers;
  • and over 100 cutting-edge inspection machines to help detect and stop fentanyl coming in.”

In Biden’s pledge to ‘shut down’ border, a stunning political shift

They have enough personnel to cut the wire that Texas put up. Maybe repurpose those people? We don't believe you.

How much is this going to cost? Will it be more than the cost of Trumps wall? If we had justbuilt Trumps wall we wouldn't be having this problem right now. Trump was right about the wall. Build the Wall!!!!

We just need to push the burden back on asylum seekers. Only accept appeals at 2 ports of entry. You must wait in line to apply. The line moves only as fast as we have personnel to support. You must present compelling evidence of your asylum claim otherwise you are immediately denied. You must wait outside of the US while your claim is processed.

Problem solved.

There's many reasons including the hundreds of miles between these ports of entry that migrants don't know about or can't get to. They also get lied to by human smugglers, but even though it's illegal, Under U.S. law, people present in the United States after crossing the border may apply for asylum.

Again, we need to change the laws and this is an opportunity to change them in a profound way. Surely you're not advocating for the maga doctrine of just waving a magic wand now are you?

5000 is way to many ….

A couple of years ago, 5k per day was considered a crisis.

and this narrative of “Mexico won’t agree to it …” that isn’t our problem. If Mexico doesn’t want these “migrants” to be waiting on their side of the border, then don’t allow them into their country.
Honestly, that's one thing I don't understand - why does Mexico allow all these migrants to cross their border illegally? Or is it not considered illegal for them? 5000 may be too many in your mind but this was a bi-partisan bill that both sides agreed to, but remember, at the point it averages that many a day, which it has for months, he can shut it down indefinitely, the way I understand it. it's also better than not having any legislation to address those numbers.

Then just change the asylum laws. I’m on a flight to Mexico as we speak, so maybe I’ll give front line updates ha.

Seriously though, the problem with the bill is things like the 5k threshold. And isn’t there Ukraine funding in it? Strip all that nonsense out and focus on specifically addressing the asylum laws.

If 2 ports isn’t enough, make it 4. But the idea that someone can meander to an invisible border in the middle of nowhere and say asylum then get launched into the US legal system is absurd. That should happen zero times per day, not 5k.

Designated asylum ports
Wait in line
Present compelling evidence or be rejected on the spot
Wait for your hearing outside of the US

Problem solved.

This isn’t rocket science. But our politicians love to load up bills with a bunch of bullshit that decreases efficiency and effectiveness.

Please listen to Goldman's response above.

Right, so those aren’t “laws on the books”, they were EOs that were reversed. (Also, a good reason why you should support a law being passed instead of an EO, but that’s for another discussion.)

The below is a good breakdown of the policies Biden reversed re:immigration via EO when he came to power. Idk about you, but I don’t really see anything on that list that would help the current situation if it were reinstated.

If we wanted to drain Russia of their resources, we shouldn't of banned LNG exports. We literally just handed Russia funding.

Totally get that it might be in our best interest but it's not in Ukraine's. They cannot win the war. We won't ever send troops so I don't get why we would keep bleeding tax dollars dry and expanding our debt.

Again, why does the border need to be funded with billions of tax dollars during Joe's presidency? What caused the massive amounts of illegals marching across multiple countries to come here? Could it be because Biden ran on open immigration policy and then literally changed all of the laws his first week in office?

They absolutely can be reversed. You'll note that Biden skipped past congress ordering the air strikes on middle east targets so he has no qualms about going around the rest of Govt.

No, hold the line means I don't support 5,000 illegals a day being allowed in before we think we have an issue. I support a 100% closed border outside of the former legal process to apply, get approved, then come into the country the right way. Hold the line means no f*cking trade offs from that model.

Meanwhile Cori Bush under investigation for illegally funding her husband with tax payer money, Illhan Omar pledges allegience to Somalia and openly supports killing jews, AOC hasn't passed a bill her entire time in the seat, Pelosi just told a bunch of Asian protesters to go back to China (right after she made $700k front running a govt announcement with NVIDIA), Fanni Willis now under investigation for money laundering........

Thank god we have all of those serious people on the left

1. It’s not a ban on LNG exports. It’s a pause on pending decisions on permits to non FTA countries, until the DoE can update some authorizations. I don’t agree with it, but it’s important to denote the distinction.

2. I don’t really think it’s ever been about Ukraine winning the war. It’s another Afghanistan, Vietnam, etc where you let a country bankrupt and destroy itself while losing no American lives and spending a fraction of what our annual defense costs.

I’m not going to defend any of them because I don’t agree with those actions.
