The lack of any details at all is complete crap imo. Law enforcement hasn't said anything. They could absolutely tell a lot more without influencing or tipping off anything about the investigation. Is the public safe? Why do you say that we are without a suspect? If the public is safe then you clearly have pretty good picture of what happened. It makes no sense not to divulge more than they have unless they are protecting the family. Again....
It's certainly not helping the image thats for sure. Fuels the fire and perception of would this be kept so tight lipped if it wasn't the Murdaugh family? What they have released so far is a joke.
I think the lack of information, for now, and considering the investigation is being conducted by SLED, is a good thing. Now, if nothing comes from this I would hope the FBI would take over.
Just imagine if all this was somehow tied into the Thornblade Saga. This thread would be longer than the ‘Penny stocks about to pop’ thread.
Let me preface my critical comment by admitting I’ve been retired from LE for awhile now. But. . . . . back in the day SLED was populated with a bunch of well connected frat boys whose daddy’s called up Pete Strom Sr and got their boy hired cause he either didn’t get in law school or couldn’t find work anywhere else. Back then that’s exactly what they were known for, political favors - not crack investigations. But now may be different.
It still happens..... I know a few that work for SLED and that is exactly how they got the jobs. Couldn't find work anywhere else. Start working for SLED as a political favor at a pay band that 20 year employees earned. They start as a grunt but get promoted up to swanky office/management jobs at light speed.

Police and Prosecutor don't have any issues since they identify the man that was responsible but he is already dead.

I've already said what happened (at least in my version made up entirely by me devoid of facts.)
Son goes full Timmy and kills mom. Third party kills son.
Family / law firm / senator friends control SLED and the narrative.
This doesn't look good for the family legacy so they do what any defense team would do.
They craft an alternate story that fits the time line and other facts of the case, etc.
The alternate story includes assassins.
SLED can't really say differently (especially with the encouragement not to say differently.)
Unsolved assassination.
They are still protecting Paul (and the family name) even as he lies in his grave.

You think this thread is long- the main board has one that is now 53 pages long. Makes for good summer theater:
Mom was taken out because she was at the wrong place at the wrong time? OR she allowed Paul to run rampant, like a lot of Moms do, so Grand Dad punished her for tarnishing the family name?

I heard Alec and his brothers were going to be on Good Morning America. Also heard Alec was vehemently denying the possibility of the former yard man committing the crimes.
Not sure but I heard they were supposed to film today. I feel for them and just hope whoever did it is brought to justice.

I have no idea. Again, it’s just what I heard through the rumor mill. If it was me, then I would be reaching out to see if anyone had a lead on who did it.

They’re dead and there is no one to arrest.
Their friends at SLED will help make it an unsolved assassination.
No one gets hurt. The family is a victim of a senseless, heinous, heartbreaking crime.
The family doesn’t have to live with real story. The gossip won’t be about it. They’ll get nothing but sympathy.
Disclaimer: This is just a little more fiction for the screenplay I’m writing. I think I’m making progress.

What about the people who have publicly accused the grandfather of ordering the execution of his grandson, for God’s sake?
Personally, I think it is a horrible, horrible tragedy that I’m not sure I could even bear.
It still just makes no sense to me why the police would say no threat and release such little info. If a person or persons murdered 2 people with a shotgun and rifle and they don't know who it is I don't understand how they can make that statement. There are killers that have not been apprehended and among the public.

I agree. When I saw the tip line on the local news tonight I literally said what the f&$k? If they supposedly know so much and there is no threat why publicize a need for a tip line?
Now Fits is reporting that SLED is searching a swamp near the property where the murders took place.
