⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

I have a feeling this interview will be damning for Alex in the eyes of the jury. Apparently this is the interview that led Duffie Stone to recuse his office from the case. Investigator is just dropping bombs on Alex in this interview.

Also the interview they first bring up to Alex the video Rogan Gibson received from Paul that Rogan is able to identify Alex's voice after he said he hadn't gone back down to the kennels.
Agree. Prosecution will prove a lot of lies in his statement.

His attorney really screwed up in allowing Alex to be interviewed. Or possibly Alex thought he was so smart he overruled his attorney and agreed to it. All these lies will end up hanging him
Yes and this attorney is Cory Fleming who was also suspended or disbarred - the attorney that was involved in the Satterfield mess

Cory's initial instinct was to stop the interview but Alex said to continue

his lawyer was trying to figure out what was about to happen and the investigator answered in a perfect way. Even told him he didn't have to answer a question if they did not want to. Alex should have realized they thought he did it at this point and shut it down

As @nmerritt11 mentioned, his attorney tried to stop it and Alex insisted. I think this is where you see a little bit of the narcissistic personality of Alex that he probably thinks he's two steps ahead of law enforcement and can talk his way out of this. Or he was also trying to get information as to what SLED had so he could stay ahead of law enforcement.

However, what screwed Alex in this interview is that he didn't realize SLED already had evidence completely destroying his story and alibi that he had told over and over up until that point.

Also, they talking about "all the internet wackos", and SLED mentions some of the stuff is so far fetched. Could this be reference to this great thread here? We know Cris mentioned interested parties were monitoring this thread when he pushpinned the thread.

yep lead him directly into his lies and he likely lied to attorney so he was trying to expedite info that further screws him and shows more lies

As the investigator said, they had to find reason to remove Alex from the case and this interview just furthered he needed to be the focus of it

Where was Dick, Jim, or Danny?

@tigerbean - I am stunned that Alex allowed himself to be interviewed with only Cory as defense counsel here. You and I know them both and... seems like he committed malpractice on himself. I would not have gone in there withtout someone the caliber of Poot/Griffin/Swerling/Gasser/Barbier etc. Cory is not that guy.

very good point just made on the Law and Court stream...which has been made on here but they said it very good.

Everything after the video busting him in the lie, was very manufactured. Calling people he knows won't answer because he knows what happened to them.

Very damning interview and timeline. Not one piece of his timeline aligns

yeah there is definitely contradiction there. Missed the sister yesterday...gonna need to watch today.

But it seems they were not staying together. I wonder how common it is for her to go stay at Edisto without him. And why she did not want to come to Mozelle
Earlier testimony from one of Paul's friends is Maggie didn't like Moselle in the summer because of yellow flies. Also, she was doing work at Edisto property.

Call in sick and work over the weekend. This is a once in a century true crime saga. Work is always there.

luckily I do not have to call in sick. And cannot push this person off that is flying in since I planned it and set up our next 2 days of meetings. She might just have to be willing to listen to the trial. Being from Florida she should be thrilled to get drawn into this trial.

But worst case TI will keep me updated

Bet she is thinking, "I have to fly in to see Merritt and going to lose 2 days of keeping up with the Murdaugh trial...." maybe he will call and cancel with some lame excuse

Nah…just talked to her and Boole her hotel room. She has airfare.:.no turning back

She will just have to listen and then we will go to happy hour for a debriefing

And explain how there isn't any physical evidence: footprints, tire tracks, cell phone data, fingerprints, DNA; of anyone else being at the site.
Because the crime scene was terribly managed by the sheriff’s dept. They walked all over the place around the bodies, playing detective. All of those officers should be reprimanded. Watch the body cam videos they clearly mishandled the scene prior to SLEDs arrival

Sorry to have to ask this but when today did this bombshell testimony take place? Who was the witness?
I've been preoccupied today until now and would like to hear it. Sounds very interesting.
Thanks to whoever.

Here's a synopsis if you follow throughout the thread. He has multiple tweets

Keeping up via Avery Wilks tweets. Looks like defense may have gotten a little bit of win on Griffin's cross of the head investigator for SLED. Got Owen (head investigator) to admit that he told the Colleton County grand jury that indicted Murdaugh that there was blood spatter on Murdaugh's shirt when in fact there was a SLED report showing there was no blood spatter on Murdaugh's shirt. Griffin also established that SLED found no DNA in the blue jacket, no blood, DNA or wet spots in Surbuban and no blood or other evidence anywhere in Moselle home.

I think the cell phone data will be what gets Alex bc it seems like he did an excellent job of covering up evidence and his tracks when it comes to physical evidence.

Griffin is punching holes in this case big time with this SLED agent...........
I was just coming here to say same. He is abusing the SLED agent. The sled agent is very defensive. Juries typically pick up on that. Griffin is poking major holes

This is like scoring with 10s left in the fourth to take the lead but then giving up a KO return for TD

this is what i expected of the defense - less is more - only ask questions when they poke holes or make an important point - first time in 4 weeks
