⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

The prosecution is awfully desperate today. They know where this verdict is heading and they are grasping at straws. I’m behind so far, but the “expert” with the box is cracking me up!!!

Ronnie Crosby, Mark Ball, Sheriff, and crime scene investigator are burying Alex today. Desperation is the defense telling you the shooter is 5'2.

You can hunt dear at noon, but most people don't.

.
I call in a “nooner”. Some people call it “afternoon delight”, or just “day sex”.

You are correct. Most people don’t, work schedules get in the way.

To what end? What would be the goal; get him to admit he hasn't done anything, so by extension he knows his brother was the killer? Cleary he isn't going to say that. It just opens the door that he will blame LE. Also then gives the defense a chance to tear into LE on redirect about how they have done a bad job.

It was covered at trial that there were many things sent to Paul via social media that were vile, I would imagine that is all true, the State probably has it all and knows it was bad. We all are well aware what keyboard warriors can and will say when they think anonymity protects them.

Numerous witnesses testified that one of the reasons Maggie went to Edisto was because of the glares and comments from the locals. She felt people had turned on them.

It isn't the families job to find the killers, and ultimately it is LE's job to do that. I have been involved enough with various investigations to know the first thing LE will tell you is, stay out of our way and let us do our job.

Too much risk and no reward.

If the defense could show vile social media threats, I believe they'd show them.

You must not be watching the same trial I'm watching.
So the last rebuttal witness just told the jury it could have been one shooter or could have been two shooters. The prosecutions witness just admitted that, even though they tried to lead him elsewhere, an objection made them re ask their question. His answer basically said your theory could be right their theory could be right.

Nothing but more muddying of the water has happened today. At least what I’ve seen so far. Not caught up yet.

Apparently the band name is Sole Purpose. P&C article states he was the lead guitarist up until about 2 years ago when the band's popularity grew and his workload increased.

I don't think this is behind a paywall bc I was able to read the whole thing and don't have a P&C subscription.
He ain't bad on the guitar- some nice riffs.

Yeah I feel like we were coming to a climax over the last few days and yesterday and today have been fairly disappointing.

The defense is basically just confusing everyone because yesterday they tried to say that it was a downward angle and execution style and now they're back to the upward trajectory. Just back and forth muddying the waters like you said.

Yep. Now the defense has the prosecutions expert saying sled screwed the measurements and angles up to where he has no confidence in the trajectories.

He just said that the measuring device wasn’t even deployed properly. Oh boy.

We may end up with an acquittal.

I think everyone has basically made up their mind at this point. The only thing that might sway someone’s opinion now would be if they put Cousin Eddie on the stand and he threw out some bombshells.

The biggest regret of this trial is we didn’t hear from Eddie.

How crazy do you have to be to where the defense nor prosecution thinks you can help them!!!

Defense is clearly just trying to muddy the waters at this point and very likely to keep going until the judge gets involved.

Filibuster like…

Wow. SLED needs to be held accountable. They have been terrible.

Agree 100 percent. Anyone who's followed the actual court hearing closely, and not the news media or Netflix doc, has saw this firsthand.

SLED messed up from the beginning and investigators were not good. The gentleman who took the stand yesterday, testified that the Prosecution had it all wrong and there were two shooters, and the States theory proves that the person had to shoot Paul with a shotgun from less than 3 feet from the ground.

All the prosecution could say was "you were hired by the defense, right?" It's their only comeback and it's not a good one. That guy isn't some hick investigator who's new to these types of things. He poked holes all in the states theories and basically painted the picture of it being impossible to have happened as the state says it did.

As someone who had their mind made up before the trial started, I've had a change of heart after maybe missing a few minutes of the entire thing. You can read through this thread and tell who isn't watching the actual trial or who's only watched the Netflix doc or listens to Mandy. It's like those people who were at Clemson all day watching 1 team play, but try to tell you what other CFB teams look like because they saw ESPN talk about it. Can't watch highlights or listen to someone else's opinion and then have an educated convo about. It's one of those things you actually have to watch yourself and try to educate yourself on before forming an opinion.

At least, that's what I've learned.
just reading all of todays posts but to reply before advancing, I thought state did well in rebuttal today - what do you think?

Watching the split screen on Court TV while DR. Kinsey is testifying, AM is sobbing because he's reliving the moments of his families deaths.

Defense has done exactly what it set out to do this week. Create separation between Alec’s testimony and closing statements and muddy the water with garbage. Personally, I haven’t heard one thing that changes the facts:

1. The victims were shot by someone they were comfortable with

2. The victims were shot with guns that are missing from the property

3. The shotgun used was loaded with buckshot and then birdshot

4. The gun Alec had when law enforcement arrived was loaded with buckshot and then birdshot

5. AM is verified at the kennel minutes prior to the deaths

6. AM lied about being at the kennel

7. There is zero evidence of anyone else being on the property

8. Alec’s frantic behavior immediately following the time of death is damning

Is number 1 an actual fact?

I think today was a huge day for the defense. To get a state expert to come in and basically refute his own testimony from earlier in the trial is huge.

Kinsey laid out a description of what happens a couple weeks ago. Today he testifies we don’t really know what happened.

That’s huge, I think we are moving closer to an acquittal now.

Is there any chance Paul shot Maggie? And then Alex shot Paul?

Do we know who was shot first?

It’s an opinion, not a fact. An opinion I agree with, but an opinion none the less.

Ok. Well then the real killer(s) are world class sprinters who are also navy seals because they were able to sneak up on them, take their guns and shoot them without them hearing them or showing distress. Paul was shot with his arms down. I guess the little detective dude had his rabbit ears turned down.
