⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

Imagine being a juror for all of this. You've lost 6 weeks of your life you won't get back, you've seen some of the worst pictures of dead people that you will probably ever see, you have a defendant that you likely know is going to jail for a long time regardless of your verdict, its Thursday, there are 8-10 of your fellow jurors voting for a conviction, your kid has a travel ball tourney Saturday.....
And you get paid $20-$30 a day

The lies and the logic are so absurd that it removes all reasonable doubt, at least in my mind.

even more so after the closing argument. I think he could have done it quicker with same result but no way you can listen to that and have doubt

it still boggles my mind how you could blow through as much money as AM did during all this, in this amount of time
Agreed! One has to imagine that he started hiding money after Paw Paw's boat accident and the lawsuit. He was probably redirecting the money he was stealing from the law firm and pretending that his drug habit was much greater than it may have been. The drugs would help him explain the disappearance of the money that made it offshore accounts or even cold storage bitcoin. AM has socked away the money for his happy life after he serves his 10 years for financial crimes and after a hung jury on his criminal case.

I swear I hope justice is served and he never sees the light of day again.

claiming he was working, stealing money, and doing all the shit he was doing at least 1000mg of pills a day...my goodness

my guess is Busters lying ass probably knows where it is

Maybe so but let’s cut the kid the guy some slack. His brother and mother were murdered, likely by his own father. He has basically lost his entire family, and future inheritance over the last couple of years. He’s got a Netflix show claiming he was in a sexual relationship with a dude that was murdered with Murdaugh involvement. All speculation. I feel bad for the guy and am definitively not going to kick the man when he’s down.

I’ll cut him some slack but he had same demeanor and same smug look on the stand as his dad did. Got kicked out of law school for cheating.

And if any kid is living for their inheritance they’re not living the right way. And I’m sure there was a nice contract negotiated if there is a Netflix show coming.

I get what you’re saying. I truly do but there is no way he can sit there and back his father at this point. The evidence is way too damning. Unless he had knowledge of it.

But if you watched him on the stand he looked just like his dad. Not one ounce of emotion

You have think these folks want this wrapped up as soon as possible and get this entire experience in the rearview mirror.

I can’t wait to see which juror hits the morning news cycle. You know it is going to happen.
Yep. Won’t be too much of a story nationally next week if it wraps up Friday. But if they drag it to next week they’ll be all over the news the next morning. Just hope it isn’t like when they interview someone from SC after a flood hits.

I actually know this lady. She’s always joking around like this and is funny as heck. We still affectionately refer to her as Mrs Totino.

1. Surely he was selling pills, right?

2. I’m absolutely positive he killed them, but why kill Paul? Still don’t think that was necessary.

How many think Alex deciding to testify is what causes him to be found guilty. The way they have shown that he repeatedly made up and told new lies when he testified has to push some undecided over the edge. Him coming out and claiming all those people that had no reason to lie like Blanca, moms caretaker, firm CFO, surrounding sheriffs about blue lights in his car lied is really damning. Him talking about sled causing him to lie when they are playing the tape of him lying to 911 operator about his whereabouts, i think it was much more likely for a hung jury before he testified. Still might happen but I assume Griffin and Poot have to be cussing Alex every night for refusing their advice

1. I don’t think so. He was writing checks to buy them from cousin Eddie. If he was selling them he would have been taking cash and needing to move it along some how.

2. Charges dropped, lawsuit quickly settled for a fraction of the money. Alex couldn’t afford the kings ransom Mark Tinsley wanted for the Beach family. Alex couldn’t afford to let anyone snoop into his finances or they would have discovered the theft.

now saying that the prosecution extended their argument today so that they’ll get to finish today and then tomorrow

I agree---except didn't they charge him before getting the video?
I think RoRo told them he heard Alec there when talking to Paul within days of the murders (maybe the next day) but they did not have the video until months later.

I don’t recall, but they had all the financial stuff going on as well, and the flat tire fake suicide.

I think he was arrested on the roadside deal first and then the financial was in the works and then I think they used all that to go after the murder charges.

It will be interesting to see how the TI jury reacts if the real jury finds AM guilty as charged.
Im ashamed to know that not only is this false, she broke up with her fiance and is eligible for parole next fall.

She also had sex about a half dozen times with various prison guards.
Poor woman. Obviously still very confused and wandering in her own wasteland.

(Guards who misuse inmates should do hard time themselves.)

I mean for all we know, she was the aggressor.

Who would buy the house??? Why would they buy it?

Apparently, someone purchased it. And some lender financed it.

I still don’t know how the last name is supposed to be pronounced. Like you said, JMM’s testimony is case in point. Dick also pronounces it as Mur-daw, and I’d think the head defense attorney would know how to say it. But then AM pronounces his last name as Mur-dock. I’m just confused.
I learned to read a long time ago. I can unerringly pronounce the name Murdaugh.

Of course, I lived quite awhile in Charleston. It took me ages to get used to how locals pronounce the name of the street named Huger.

I'll feel bad for him after he meets with LE and tells them what he knows about Stephen Smith's death.

It's pronounced Mur-daw.....that's how is spell. Just like Alex is Alex not "Elic". Even if the family members are saying it differently, just means they don't know how to read and pronounce the English language.

This is a peeve of mine. Athletes do it all the time (including Clemson players). If you last name is "Smith" you can't say, "Oh, but its pronounced 'Jones'."
SWEENY

How different is this trial if:

1. There is no snapchat video placing Alec at the kennels

And

2. AM doesn’t take the stand
The State wouldn’t have a chance in hell. It’s sketchy enough as it is. The best move the defense has made was ensuring a speedy trial before the prosecution was really ready.
