is there a TL; DR summary of all of this case? I've seen bits and pieces along the way, but feel completely lost since I havent kept up with since the beginning.
Here is a decent timeline of events...
Timeline
Okay, updated Bosch theory based on recent added events and assumption that Alex is guilty...
1. Alex has an opioid addiction, mistress, has been embezzling millions from his firm to support his lifestyle, and is broke.
2. Alex is tired of cleaning up after son Paul's long string of misery that includes a nanny, brother's gay liaison, house keeper, and finally Mallory Beach, the last of which is about to result in the start of a wrongful death trial, which will result in a catastrophic audit of his finances that will uncover his embezzling.
3. Alex is enjoying life with his mistress and over his wife. His wife is tired of the affair and about to file for divorce, which will also result in a financial audit. He also needs her life insurance proceeds since he is broke and probably being blackmailed.
4. Alex decides to kill two birds with one stone and hires a pair of hitmen. The hitmen show up at his property at a designated time that allows Alex to have an ironclad alibi. One rounds up the son with a shotgun while the other rounds up the wife with a rifle and takes her phone away while doing so. Both are brought to the kennel area and shot twice. The phone is tossed out of the car window down the road after leaving the property. Alex "discovers" the bodies an hour later.
5. Three months later SLED uncovers the financial anomalies and reports them to the firm and solicitor. The solicitor then publicly recuses himself due to his relationship with Alex since Alex now being accused, not a victim or witness.
6. Alex feels the world is crashing in on him, wants to commit suicide and leave his only remaining son some wealth which he can only do with $10M in insurance money since he is broke. Alex, already with experience hiring a hitman and the thought of collecting fraudulent insurance money, hires the hitman to help him commit suicide. The shot doesn't kill him, turns out that he pulled off the road in view of a church security camera, and the whole debacle was caught on camera.
7. Alex issues his apology and heads into hiding at a rehab.
8. SLED is able to identify the shooter from the camera video and arrests both the shooter and Alex on multiple charges.
9. You just can't make this shvt up, and it gets better and better. The saga continues...
Okay, here is an alternative Alex is innocent of the murders theory...
1. Alex has an opioid addiction, mistress, has been embezzling millions from his firm to support his lifestyle, is broke, has a son that has killed multiple people, is named in a wrongful death lawsuit, a wife about to divorce him, and the latter two of which will uncover his embezzlement.
2. There are many people pissed off at Alex and someone decides to kill his family for revenge, which is a huge positive windfall for Alex given his circumstances.
3. F'ck it. Who are we kidding. He is guilty as hell.
