⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

He gave a statement to SLED yesterday so I imagine he’s locked up
Yeah, someone posted a pdf of the charging document on Reddit and they referred to AM as the “Co-Defendant” throughout. Makes sense given the conspiracy charge and statements attributed to Alex in it that he hatched the plan. Can a person be arrested/detained without it being made public?

My theory is that they nabbed Eddie first at charged him with a laundry list of stuff in an attempt to get him to spill the details on Alex and what else he knows or has been involved in (the murders). He will likely give them even more evidence to solidify the charges against Alex.

How could dude miss a head that big?

Holy twists & turns Batman.

Bet this is already in pre-production w/Dateline and movie scripts are already being developed....🤣
I suspect two streaming services will have series. I just hope it’s done well. I could see one that’s a docu series with a bunch of interviews from locals, old footage of the characters, and some re-enactments. And another that has a full slate of actors to make it a drama series or movie.

Anything for money…. Always about money… you can only imagine the way they’ve practiced law and the people and lives they’ve tormented in the pursuit of the $$ over the last 100 years. Power, greed… they’ve used it over and over again. The poor people in their community are less worthy of life and are just pawns in their game.

This story is far from over. So much more to uncover.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Mr. Eddie Smith is about to be pinned for every bit of this by AM.

Of course all of this is way too frantic to hold up like in a really well-planned frame job.

But its' where we are heading.

Statement from Big Red's lawyer:

“On September 4, it became clear Alex believed that ending his life was his only option. Today, he knows that’s not true. For the last 20 years, there have been many people feeding his addiction to opioids. During that time, these individuals took advantage of his addiction and his ability to pay substantial funds for illegal drugs. One of those individuals took advantage of his mental illness and agreed to take Alex's life, by shooting him in the head. Fortunately, Alex was not killed by the gunshot wound. Alex is fully cooperating with SLED in their investigations into his shooting, opioid use and the search to find the person or people responsible for the murder of his wife and son. Alex is not without fault but he is just one of many whose life has been devastated by opioid addiction.”

I would suggest that taking his own life remains his best option...

This is in Hampton County, not Colleton.

all of the shootings were in Colleton county…..Murdaugh’s accomplice is from Walterboro and taken into custody by Colleton county officials

Love the little "Alex is not without fault" at the end, after pretty much blaming everything on predatory behavior by shadowy individuals. You can't play the victim when you're the biggest fish in your little pond. His family was the alpha group of that whole area.
Whole bunch of people were taking advantage of Alex here 😂😂. That’s the funniest statement I’ve seen a lawyer put out in a while.

Ain't buying the insurance story. A good ol' boy don't miss a guy who's sitting there wanting to be shot dead.
I buy it. The walls were closing in on big red. Time was up. He was going to be arrested for fraud/embezzlement and be ruined financially. Likely, he was going to be tied back to the murder of his wife and son. So dying and gifting a bunch of money to Buster seemed like the quasi noble thing to do, given the circumstances.

Good lord, even OJ thinks this is BS.

Here’s an example of how evil this family is. Let’s pretend that Paul/Timmy didn’t push the babysitter down the stairs like everyone has said since it happened…

After killing the babysitter, Alex gets his buddies to sue his insurance, gets $500,000 to distribute between them and doesn’t even give a dime to her sons (one of them is special needs). AND doesn’t even pay for the funeral for a person that was “like family”.

Their evil knows no bounds…

Craig Melvin gave murdaughs lawyer Dick Harpootlian a pretty hard time on the Today Show this morning. It was obvious the defense will focus on opioid addiction and mental instability.
Saw that. State Sen from Richland Dick Harpootlian is Alex’s lawyer. Admitted that money was taken from the firm and that most of it was used to buy drugs. Craig even said “that’s a lot of oxy” during the interview. Harpo also said that Alex thought that the insurance policy had a no suicide clause. That was true but only for two years after the policy was signed. Sounded like he could have committed suicide and Buster would have still got his 10mil.

He alluded to two things during the interview: 1) Alex was off the drugs and going through withdrawals and 2) He is flat broke and thought this was the only way to leave any sort of inheritance to Buster.

So then explain to me his reaction after being shot? Eddie doesn’t just leave if he isn’t dead right? If you shoot someone in the head and they’re still conscious don’t you shoot them again? How about the “multiple shell casings” that were found? Is Eddie that stupid and that bad of a shot? Then Alex picks up the phone and scrambles together this whole story?

This is the absolute craziest ****ing story I’ve ever heard.

is there a TL; DR summary of all of this case? I've seen bits and pieces along the way, but feel completely lost since I havent kept up with since the beginning.

So this attorney Dick H is an elected official?!?! And we wonder why people don’t trust the people running this country. This guy needs to be jailed too!

Watch this video…

Apparently drug dealers take checks these days. That’s pretty comical. No way in hell is anybody moving that much of a drug taking a check.

Also, anybody notice how there’s no mention of opioids in the charges. There is however a distribution of meth charge.

Any lawyer, including Alex, knows the suicide clause in a life insurance policy expires after two years. That's SC bar exam material. Thus, my question is whether this was a recently purchased life insurance policy.

Like a poster said above and what is most plausible to me is that he knew the walls were closing in from SLED in the murder investigation. He then needed as much money as he could get to "disappear" a la Saul Goodman and never be heard from again. When his law firm discovered he had embezzled money (and likely for that purpose...I mean, like Craig Melvin inferred, that's way too much money to simply buy opioids), he knew that gig was up and was left with very limited options. Thus, he decides to end his own life. But he couldn't even do that right and by trying to get Buster a payout, he screws that up too.

The question is, how many people would be dispensable in order to save Alex Murdaugh’s own life?

I personally believe he would Nuk the whole County of Hampton if t meant he lived one more day.

BTW, I have family who saw “distraught” Alex Murdaugh just a few days ago out in the River on a boat in Beaufort County. He might be distraught, like his lawyers say, but that day he didn’t seem to have a care in the world…
