How much more can one hate Dick Harpootlian? And to think he’s an elected official here in SC…🤦🏻
Someone needs to show a picture of AM taken when he was arrested a couple weeks after the incident on the road and ask him to point out exactly where his client was supposedly shot.
Once they arrested AM with those charges, I honestly feel like it’s only a matter of time before the underlings are too. Unless they already sang and got immunity.

When I was at Clemson( Class of 71) and he was a year ahead of me, everyone called him “Poot”, for good reason and it continues.
I have known Harpootlisan for about 50 years. He is a damn good lawyer. When you are a criminal lawyer you represent murderers, rapists, meth heads, crooks and all sorts of despicable persons. He is a good guy and probably the smartest, most effective state senator we have. Why some on here despise him is beyond me.
This just seems like one of the dumbest things an attorney could do but maybe in Hampton County all this is easy to pull off.

don't know him personally, and prior to this, had no idea who he is. However, I do now have the opinion that he is perfectly happy to look square in the camera and lie. Now I'm no fool. I know lawyers sometimes lie when defending their clients. In my gut watching him lie, he struck me as that being his default. Just sleazy. I don't hate him. But I sure don't want to be friends with him.

Most folks don’t know politics or how things work even if they think they do. Nothing wrong with those folks, just an innocent lack of knowledge. I don’t know what I did 10-20 years ago. That said, I lean republican in state politics now, but there are a few dems who do good work and are level headed, smart politicos. Harpo is one of them, but he’s killing himself politically with this public exposure.
There is a big difference in what it means to be a state level (or below) D or R and what those letters mean in DC…kind of like HS vs college vs NFL. However they align a little more every election.

He’s making his client a victim when he is clearly a lying, stealing, cheating, terrible human being. He’s lying about the attempted suicide and making the methhead “friend” the culprit. If that’s not enough, his client at minimum, had a hand in the death and/or attempted cover up of more than 4 deaths.

I've got no love for anyone who puts a (D) next to their name in politics. Having said that, poot should be doing and saying everything he can (including lying/distorting) to get his client off even if he is the devil incarnate. He may be a completely despicable person, but if he isn't doing everything he can to get his client off, then he is not doing his job.
If AM is the kind of person he appears to be based on the info available, I hope he never sees the light of day again. Like it or not, poots job in the justice system (ironically) is often to try and make sure justice is not served.

He’s a criminal defense attorney. Defending their client is literally their job. He’s has to do it and he has to say what he said.
