I always find this funny. He’s a defense attorney, so it’s his job to defend a client and yes he’s paid to do so. What do you do for a living? Cure cancer?
You can say everyone “sells out” if they make a dime doing any profession.
And they all know that all they need is just one potential juror that has some sort of sympathy for AM and he can be acquitted. That and to muddy the waters as much as possible in regards to all of these deaths. Plus, without having direct knowledge of the investigations, there’s still no telling how much deeper this rabbit hole goes.
Rich lawyers with power, money and out of touch with reality elected to represent the average Jane's and Joe's is what is wrong with America now. We the people have done it to ourselves and until people realize it and vote career politicians out of office in favor of regular working people, it's only going to get worse.
Harpootlian has been a joke for decades and I never can understand how people can vote for the Harpootlians, Pelosi's Bidens of the world.
I help make luxury automobiles and we joke about it when we feel any pressure or stress that’s job related, usually with a comment like “we’re not curing cancer here!”

Your last name doesn't make you who you are. Your family being good or bad does not determine the person you are- nor should it. There are/have been people in my immediate family I had noting to do with, bc they were not good people. There are people in my family who are better people than I am as well.

Dumb take. How do know he lying or misleading? Poot has legal liability to do his best within the law. We all think we know what happened, but we don't beyond a reasonable doubt until evidence is presented. If you ever get in trouble, I hope you have a lawyer that fights has hard as he can for you, especially if maybe you're innocent, say?

It isn't an opinion just because one states it. A defense attorney's job is to defend their client within the confines of the law. That isn't an opinion.

While I don’t disagree with the intent of your statement, there is a couple of reasons the legislature is consisted of lawyers and very successful entrepreneurs…time and financial security. The regular working person is just that and can’t afford to take the time off that being an elected official requires. Also, I realize that the documented salaries that reps and senators get is grossly understated, but they aren’t there just for the money. If you have very little or no other income, it would be a stretch to make a decent living on what they clear and can legally use for just living expenses. Then you run the risk of losing every 2 or 4 years and being in the “soup line”. Not just any ol Jack or Jill can do it.
I guess Oconee County is the exception (not surprising)

The difference of opinion is more about the morality of what lengths a defense attorney is willing to go. If I were Alex murdaugh, I’m sure I would appreciate a guy like ole Poot.
And I still don't get what you're saying. Morality? Either it's legal or not. The lawyer breaks the law or doesn't. He either does his best to defend the client or he doesn't. You're saying do the job but only if it meets your standard of morality?

A lie is a statement of fact that the speaker knows to be untrue. Based on that definition, Harpootlian is not lying. I have heard a lot of outright lies by politicians lately. Like, I won the election but got cheated out of it.

Legally an attorney can not lie to a judge or jury, they can't say their client didn't do something if they know they did.
You get into the whole morality of legal guilt vs factual guilt....
a good attorney can effectively defend a known guilty man. An attorney can get over zealous though and ascert the innocence o the client and if they know his guilt, cross the line into illegal...
To this point, I did notice that when Harpootlian was confronted about certain things in the recent interview such as Eddie Smith's denial he was AM's long time drug dealer, he always prefaced his statement with "according to Alex".
I just have a hard time believing that Harpootlian isn't outright lying when he says that AM was in ICU for the gunshot wounds he suffered, when a week later AM is in the courtroom and there's not even the slightest scratch or hair out of place on his head.
There are millions of votes I did not understand when they were cast and that I still do not understand.

Plus, wasn't he the one who told the media that AM had been airlifted too MUSC when he was really sent to Savannah. If so, that was definitely a lie. That might have been the other dishonest attorney though. I'm not sure.
well he would be as dumb as AM to lie about being in the ICU. There is a thing called hospital medical records. If he was in the ICU then it is in a computer record. Thought I saw where they claimed he had an abnormal CT brain as well which cannot be falsified without medical malpractice.
This case is so crazy that I would not put anything past anybody.Seems people just roll over and do all kinda dumb stuff for ole AM. Heck you got bankers, lawyers and judges , why not doctors and medical personnel.
The details are starting to smell like he was hospitalized for behavior related to drug abuse and not a gunshot wound.
Will be interesting to see more of the details come out. So far, nothing has been presented to prove he had a physical wound of any kind.
Edit - some of the medical records have been released and they appear to corroborate Eddie's story.

If The Murdaugh Law Firm had won major lawsuits against the hospital, someone may have made the decision to put him in ICU to reduce risk.
This scenario with AM, immediate family, and friends involved is an absolute abortion. The corruption with regards to Gloria Satterfield and her estate is just evil. Hoping the criminal justice system takes the colluding judges, bankers, and attorneys to the gd woodshed….. and then there is his murdered wife and son ….I cannot see AM not being involved … insanity

Sounds like some/all of the medical records have been released. There was some type of injury to AM, but could the injury be equally consistent with a drugged out big man flinging himself down into the gravel? Small head injuries bleed a lot even from a fall. The phrasing used on this topic by some of the attorneys is quite calculated and flexible. (That is their job.)
