⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

So now, John Marvin is attempting to sell Moselle. But wait, isn't Moselle part of the assets under the receivership ruling? Hmmmmm. I thought so, but now it's confusing, yet again. You see, Moselle was in Maggie's name so at her death, it became part of her estate. The estate was left to Alex, so it seems like it would be encumbered by the receivership deal, but I don't know. There's some talk now about whether the Beach family's attorney will need to add Maggie to his lawsuit in order to cover this property.

All this is now stirred up because John Marvin Murdaugh has filed a motion through his attorneys complaining that the Beach family's attorney is holding the Murdaughs "hostage" and is preventing them from selling the property to settle debts.

All very interesting, but for me, the biggest question I have right now, is how in the hell is John Marvin "selling" a piece of property he doesn't own???

I think he is an executor of her estate. Also, I believe the article said there was a mortgage on the property. If they don’t pay the mortgage then I guess the bank could take it back.

Yep and the relevant attornies have already said they will go after the bank if they foreclose.
I don’t think the attorneys have much of a case if the mortgage isn’t getting paid. Unless that property was included in the freeze order. I don’t think anyone can do anything with it in that case without court approval.

We will see how deep the good old boy system is concerning Palmetto State Bank. A full on exam should be forthcoming with the firing of the CEO and the other VP that was also named in this case. That’s the usual path in these types of situations. But we will see.

I find it interesting that the CEO and half of the board of directors share the same last name. pure coincidence I’m sure.

Justin Bamberg, who represents 8 of AM’s alleged victims, is interviewed on the podcast episode released today. He seems to have evidence of Fleming and AM writing checks directly to the bank instead of to the victims. I think the bank is looking at some large lawsuits looming.

This is probably attracting significant attention from the Feds? Sounds like the Laffite's are now also being heavily targeted in the investigation.

"Laffitte, the CEO of the bank, was paid a $60,000 conservatorship fee, according to Bamberg.

Laffitte — like Murdaugh — is a member of a powerful Hampton County family that has, for four generations, loomed large in the community. Murdaugh’s great-grandfather founded PMPED; Laffitte’s family founded PSB.

Laffitte was fired two weeks ago after FITSNews wrote this story and the bank was aware of what Bamberg had uncovered."

Palmetto State Bank goes down in this also (IMO) .... corruption beyond belief..

Not just accidentally unplugged, but the alarms didn't sound when it came unplugged.
Right. So how about you. What do you think the chances are that vent situation was just an accidental unplugging and malfunction? Please. I bet the alarms did sound and the workers knew to ignore them or the alarms were disconnected. Either way, I say there's ZERO chance it was accidental. My thinking is that it was set up to present AM with an opportunity to sue the facility on behalf of the Pinckney woman so he could steal even more from that woman.

eta: and at this point, I'm not sure the Satterfield woman died naturally. Was she on life support at the hospital? Was she "accidentally taken off? I don't remember hearing how it happened.

The amounts of money stolen means that there are good records of where the money came from and where it went. Murdaugh is never getting out of jail. His banking, insurance and attorney cohorts are either sweating profusely or have agreed to tell all they know to the authorities for some amount of limited immunity . Is there any word the wives of these cohorts filing divorce papers on these these crooks?

We might start a pool on the date Harpootlian resigns from the case. Murdaugh doesn't have enough money to make it worth Poot's time to fight a losing battle. While Poot has always liked PR he is 72 years old. I think he quits soon.

Not sure summary below is the same source as your link, but AM was living la vida loca. That's a nice lifestyle on someone else's dime.

"Altogether, Murdaugh is charged in the new January State Grand Jury Indictments with respect to alleged schemes to defraud victims of $2,657,016.12. When combined with the State Grand Jury Indictments from November and December 2021, the alleged total is $8,875,944.45."

If a broader number of powerful conspirators exist, then there will be plenty of incentivization to scapegoat Murdaugh and limit the peripheral damages. If he did commit or authorize the murders, then the best outcome in the end may be avoiding the death penalty. Poot may be playing a longer game that keeps him alive while shielding other powerful actors with leverage.

He's playing chess. Like Al Groh.

Right. AM is a sleazeball, but he isn't an idiot. Most of that $$$ is in an offshore bank.
