Any one see Ed Oliver acting like

I would say more college players than not don’t love their college coaches. There’s not a lot of Dabo’s out there. A college coach is a means to an end, point blank. Especially at that level.

The coach literally physically strips a jacket off someone who was an All American and has done that University a huge service.

Am I saying Oliver was right? No. But, if I’m a NFL franchise that wants Aaron Donald 2.0 and knows as professionals I won’t be stripping a jacket off a player during a game, would I pass on this kid? Hell no!

I wouldn't pass up on Christian Wilkins for Oliver.

Have you paid any attention to how Dez Bryant could barely get a team to look at him because he continually pulls this shit? Even though he still has upper end wr1 talents? Nfl teams absolutely care about team spirit. I feel strongly this will affect God draft spot. But whether it does or not if he continues this shit no one will touch him

Dez...Upper end WR1 talent still? lol. Just stop

You know I like you, but I think you’re probably hammered and being emo bc this guy is ranked ahead of the guys we pull for

Good coach?

And you’re letting another guy physically strip a jacket off of you in cold without saying anything back? I would question who the punk bitch is
If my boss the guy paying my checks told me to take a jacket off... That I had stolen, and I didn't, I would not act like a complete faggit yelling and making a scene.... If you are that mad throw a punch or shut your mouth.

Maybe the bigger question should be what kind of two bit program Houston is running that they don't enough jackets to go around

I dont know too many programs that carry 120 of those out to every game.

My question would be

“How in the hell is Ed Oliver going to survive in Boston, Buffalo, Cleveland, Cincinnati, New York, etc if he cant handle Houston Texas with full sweats on”

Buffalo might break him in two

I don't know if you've seen the way he came up and started stripping it off him but that is something you need to see.

I don't see one single thing wrong with what Applewhite did there. He wasn't overly aggressive.....he just started peeling it off him.

It doesn't surprise me that you would be ok with one player being bigger than the team, though, cause your takes have been generally pretty bad since Week 4 of this season.

In 2017 he was 16th in receptions for Wrs. He is 30 he hasn't fallen off that much in a year. He couldn't get a contract because of shit like this

Wilkins is a top 3 Tiger player ever in my book, along with DW4 and Spiller.

Dex is a freak.

But there’s a reason why people who are paid to do this for a living has Oliver scouted as the top DT.

I'll be interested to see how Oliver's measurables compare to those of Wilkins and Lawrence at the combine. I won't be surprise if the latter two are better. Oliver dominates the minor leagues basically. I have no doubt he'll be a good pro and he's obviously a first round pick, but there's a lot of time, a lot of workouts, and a lot of interviews between now and the draft.

Yea, i guess thats the difference between certain people. I would do what is right by my team. If my program is a “means to an end” and this time in your life is some type of burden.

Then just quit already and stop being a pain in everyones ass.

And i disagree on the most dislike their coaches. Id say most like their coaches. A large portion have life long relationships. The elite level of player is so few and far between.

Lets do the math

More than half of coaches are not good coaches

Only a quarter of kids on scholly start when most think they should

<1% of these kids go pro when the majority wants to be a pro

The HC has literally over a hundred kids on his team, so it’s impossible to get remotely close to please anywhere close to all of them

But somehow most high level college athletes don’t view their coaches as a means to the end and simply adores their coaches?

Do you not remember how several high profile players had KBs back and threw shade on the program not that long ago? You are vastly overestimating 18-21 year olds and holding them to grown men standards

Those two will measure better. But man, in today’s NFL think abt some of your best DTs.

They want explosive guys who can play all 3 dows over the big guys in this offensive spread world we live in. Think abt Donald and Grady type guys.

The whole thing was dumb, they made it a point to go and take the jacket off of him. Why does Applewhite give a shit?
Because his players are standing around in short sleeves. I’m sure he wants them to stay loose. It’s not like they are going to throw on a sweatsuit. Meanwhile you got a dude with a sweatsuit on and a big jacket on top. It’s annoying how people are just unaware or just don’t care.

LOL

That dude will be a pro bowler in a couple years.

Do I think he should play if healthy? Yes

Is he a “punk bitch” bc he didn’t suit up for an unranked team to preserve his health in a meaningless game when he’s not paid now and is 2 games away from millions? No

Is McCaffrey and Fournette and Clowney and Bosa regretting preserving their bodies right now? No

It's a real bad look for the young man.

That’s not why people are calling him a punk. It’s pretty clear that Oliver thinks the normal rules don’t apply to him, and he has no problem acting out if anybody tries to enforce those rules.

I think the PB comment was more along he lines of him going off on his head coach over a jacket.

First of all, he didn't "strip" him... So please quit acting like Applewhite yanked the jacket off of him...

Secondly, something tells me that probably wasn't the first time he told him to take the jacket off.. .

Lastly, Oliver is a punk bitch for quitting on his team. We used to preach "finish what you started"...now society just believes it's cool to quit on your team when circumstances don't necessarily benefit the individual 100%

He’s better than both. Also better than Gary as well
Define better? If you mean he is physically better, you may be right.
If you define better by adding in character and leadership - you're dead wrong.

Yep. Or hopefully Applewhite just tells him he can play or be off the team.
he will choose the latter...and when he gets in the nfl and is in a big contract year, he will do like Bell and pull a no show...and if his team is already eliminated from the playoffs maybe he will quit then too

I’m saying Oliver will be drafted over both. Viewed as a better prospect.

I would put $ on that. If I’m wrong, I will gladly eat crow.

No shade at all on Dex and Wilkins. It will be tough to see those two guys go. They are supremely talented (obviously) and both be wealthy and successful in the NFL and life in general.

If you’re asking me if I had a daughter, who would I rather she date, it would absolutely be Dex and CW.

I’m simply talking from a professional football standpoint on who will be evaluated as the better player

The final analysis has not been completed. Ed Oliver is around 275 and has no where near the sack totals that Aaron Donald had at Pitt per the maligned Mel Kiper. Once the season is over and people look hard at the film and see in person what Dexter Lawrence is at 350 pounds with strength and movement skills then he will shoot up the draft board is my guess. Wilkins and Ferrell may also end up getting picked before Oliver. I do not have anything against Oliver, but he probably had already been asked by someone else to remove the jacket and refused and then the HC decided to make a point and thats his perogative. Ed Oliver has one foot out the door at Houston already. He should apologize so they they can finish on good terms. Stunts like this will be questioned by GM's in the league...mark it down.

Agree completely with everything you said. But what you didn’t mention is the clip. It’s a bad look for him and I would probably agree with those who characterize him as a punk as a result of it. I couldn’t care less about the other stuff. I think he’s making a smart decision by watching out for himself. Having said all of this, none of it will have any bearing whatsoever on his draft stock as the #2 DT and surefire top 10 pick.

Even recognizing that people see through orange colored glasses, I can’t believe that some think Wilkins or Lawrence are better than Oliver. It’s not even remotely debatable. There isn’t a single scout/GM/executive who would entertain the thought of that, let alone agree.

It’s about respect! Are you serious? A college coach is just a means to an end? Maybe for that punk, but not a majority of college players. I feel sorry for you if you really think that. Anyway, he didn’t strip the jacket off of him, and I’m sure he knew not to have it on at that point.

If you run a 3-4 and you need a NT, then Lawrence is going to go before Oliver.

As with most drafts, position and need trump everything. Plenty of scenarios where Lawrence goes first. (I don't see anyway that Wilkins does)
