Are You being Recruited on LinkedIn by Chinese Spies

Any of you getting invites on LinkedIn from Chinese persons

In my former life I was involved with businesses and such that foreign governments such as Russia, Iran, North Korea or China might have an interest in learning something even if worthless information

Reason I ask is getting the friend requests from gorgeous 30 year Chinese ladies interested in engineering to a 65 plus old buzzard was definitely creating smoke

Never responded as that would have triggered a need to report to AHJ

Just curious if you are seeing the same as the Swalwell guy on the House Foreign Committee who was a total idiot as he had no brain in seeing through the smoke the spy was fogging his eyes with and of course had the wrong head working overtime

What’s really concerning is the algorithms are identifying people in critical positions in private industry and then using the power of searching across social media to track them and look for vulnerabilities and opportunities

We are in a war but one being fought with NEW weapons

As they say the military prepares to fight the next war and cannot use the last wars weapons and tactics

The Chinese have evolved

The virus was not an accident

Look for additional problems and soon

I can’t even begin to tell you the amount of training videos and memos I have had to watch and read over the last year.

I click on nothing I don’t recognize and don’t open email from people outside my organization unless I was expecting it.

The amount of LinkedIn requests and Friend requests on Facebook have sky rocketed ... I don’t accept from anyone I don’t know.

And what is concerning is that I’m on the commercial side of the business ... I can only imagine what those Government Systems folks have to deal with.

If you work with search engines much such as Google and Yelp there is the key word people doing a search will look for

In your case it may be coding

Or some other word such as nuclear

Or military

I believe there was an attempt to “recruit” me in Clemson! Young lady on the Catbus, a foreign exchange student, was suspiciously forceful in trying to start and maintain a friendship...

It never went beyond her sitting next to me on the bus and incessantly prying and making conversation.. I may sound rude for ignoring a young lady but I am very outgoing/coy and even I found it over the top. An “A” for effort.

She couldn’t have learned anything useful from me. I think just like emails, “they” cast a wide net and hope for the best ...

Then there was the time I was traveling solo in Europe ... that was even more blatant but I’ll save that one for later ...
