FWIW, POTUS paid for the fast food out of his own funds

I was sure hoping to see Wilkins having fun with trump. I guess he’s already moved on to training cause I didn’t see him in the photos.

I also feel certain he would have been recognized had he been there.

Come to think of it I didn’t see CF, DL, AB, TL or quite a few other guys either. Hopefully the extra week of training pays off and they have excellent combines!

No matter how anyone tries to spin that, it was embarrassing.

Those kids deserved better. A meal that they don’t get to experience.

I haven’t had a Gamecock fan dare to text me abt anything in years when it comes to football. Got one tonight laughing at that. Of course I let him have it, but still

It was not embarrassing at all. You Trump haters honestly need to get a grip on reality. Listen to Dabo's speech talking about being grateful for life and what you have and that is the key. Do not worry about what you do not have and expect to be treated like Kings and Queens at every stop. The players had a great experience today that was well earned and that most will never have and they should be and I am sure are greatful to have been there. Its embarrassing to see our fans try to politicize this event due to dislike of President Trump.

Nailed it.

Sorry bud. This should’ve been abt celebrating Clemson. It’s now abt the shutdown.

Years from now when the players are asked by their children abt their visit to the WH, they will literally bring up fast food. SMH

Do you actually think that billionaire was looking for the cheapest thing he could by? Money was not a factor. The food was convenient and I’m sure he genuinely thought they would like it. He didn’t have to have them at all! It was an honor to be invited. That’s an invitation most of us will never receive.

You actually think he is a billionaire?? LOLZ.

I would love to see proof he actually paid for the food and receipts. He says stuff like this all the time, but just blatantly lies for no good reason. It is so infuriating...

Dabo was the only one who looked presidential in that room.

Trump could be in a soup kitchen serving up meals to the homeless and giving each of them a thousand dollars on the way out and some of you would criticize him for not giving them more.

When you get proof he DIDN'T pay.... report back.

Totally disagree, but we all are entitled to our opinions, so I am happy to hear yours. Mine is this event is about Clemson Football and the NATTY. It is also about the fact that Donald Trump accommodated Clemson's request to come up this week during the shutdown instead of later in the year which is the normal and paid for this event out of his own pocket. This being the same President that donates his entire salary to charity. I unabashedly love Clemson, President Trump and my country.

With the near daily lies he tells...sorry, the burden of proof is on that guy.

But seriously--ask yourself, why did the president and his spokesperson--THE PRESIDENT--need to go out of his way to blast it all over social media that he was the one who paid for the fast food? Very humble...the humblest of the humble to ever humble.

I don't take kindly to my FB team being used as a prop for anybody. But that is just me--guess I'm old fashioned like that...

Kinda grasping at straws. It was typical Trump silliness, but college kids love that stuff.

Anybody know what the team had back in 2017?

Fake news from a Trump hater. Get rid of your hate. Trump loves this country and is doing right by it.

We just don't agree on the motives.

Our starting left tackle for next season doesnt seem to think it was fun.

What did he have to say? Trying to make the White House visit into a reason to criticize Trump seems awfully petty to me. There are lots of good reasons to criticize the guy, but y’all so frequently go overboard with this stuff that you give fodder to the sycophants who think every criticism is unfair.

Of course, most of the sycophants would’ve criticized a Democratic President for doing the same thing.

Loving politicians is weird, and I say that as somebody who thinks cynicism about politics is a cancer.

I linked his tweet above.

I do not look at Trump as a politician. I see him as a patriot that is trying to save his country honestly. A very selfless patriot. He should be home in the rocking chair honestly, but he saw the mess and it has to be fixed.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - this can't be serious. I'm out. This thread is a veritable Ignoreapalooza.

Some of you trump homers make the gamecock homers look logical. It is possible to be a republican and disapprove of things your republican president says or does. I don't necessarily think the food was a political stunt but it was embarrassing. I like to think our country can do better than serving fast food to a bunch of college kids. I mean damn most mothers would go out of their way to feed a college kid who visits her house with a nice meal. (nothing says wear a suit to dinner like the dollar menu)

Our fans politicizing it???

You don’t see a bigger issue with Trump politicizing it and that **** SHS doing the same?

Those of you defending Trump would be talking about how little respect Obama had for Clemson football if he had done the same, how he should have enough money to pay for a nicer meal, the shutdown was his fault and he should take responsibility and probably some of you dolts would even make it about religion or some crazy shit. GTFOH.

The timing was interesting. Did either Clemson or the WH ever mention why the visit was so early?

Previous College Football Championship visits:

2010 - May 8
2011 - June 8
2012 - April 19
2013 - April 15
2014 - No visit
2015 - April 20
2016 - March 2
2017 - June 17
2018 - April 10
2019 - January 14

Yes. We have Clemson fans on this board making snarky false comments and insults of the event based on dislike of Trump and this is a 100% true statement. As most know, I love to discuss politics, but I create posts on the round table board so that only folks interested will go and partake. If you want to discuss Trump and the shutdown, then go on over to the round table. I do not like Obama now and didnt then....that is true, but there is no proof of your claim...I would not have done it. I also try to live in reality and not be disrespectful just for the hell of it. You actually sound doltish to me...your word.

He genuinely doesn’t GAF about the cost. He also didn’t GAF whether or not they liked it. He didn’t have to have them, but at what political cost?

Don’t be naive

Lol. I couldn’t have cared less. Obama could have given them Campbell’s soup for all I cared. I highly doubt they went for the dinner. The only problem I see is that there are no McRibs.
