I, personally don’t think it’s ok for an ex-president to sell classified info about our nuclear weapons

"The Senate voted 57–43 to convict Trump of inciting insurrection, falling 10 votes short of the two-thirds majority required by the Constitution, and Trump was therefore acquitted..."

Where does that say guilty? Read better!
Lol, highest bipartisan support ever for an impeachment. He barely escaped it because of partisan politics and you see it as a proof of innocence.SMH. Read McConnell’s comments, he said Trump was clearly guilty but he still chose not to impeach him. So, just because Rs decided to protect Trump doesn’t absolve him.

History has already proven me right. And it’s only going to get worse. More dirt is going to come out as people close to this mess no longer risk incrimination. In 10 years, nobody will admit to supporting Trump (and a lot of people are already hedging their bets). History will look back on this period as a dark time for our democracy.
The dark times are when the government tools are used to target political opponents. That used to be reserved for third world countries.

Trump will save America in 2024

So he was almost guilty. Let me see where that criteria fits in our two tiered justice system. Oh yeah I looked and its no where to be found.

Let me guess you probably believed:

1 million people died of covid
Biden got 81 million votes.

You are dead wrong about people saying it came from China. You are completely making that up. We can argue the other points, but on this you are completely wrong.
I am exactly right. I'm not trying to argue either.

You know how far your head has to be up your ass to ignore this volume and frequency of lying??? This is mind boggling that some people subscribe to the “alternate facts” BS. He lies every day, multiple times a day. Anyone with even just one ounce of intellectual integrity and decency would admit that. Just because you don’t like him being accused of stuff doesn’t make him a source of truth. He is the worst liar in decades…
My apologies.

Repeating bullshit doesn't make it true. I know it's Trump's approach and he uses it every day (see "Stop the steal" BS).

"The former special counsel Robert Mueller made it clear on Wednesday that the reason prosecutors didn't consider charging President Donald Trump with a crime wasn't because of a lack of evidence, but because they are precluded from doing so by a longstanding Department of Justice (DOJ) policy"

"Under longstanding department policy a president cannot be charged with a federal crime while he is in office," Mueller said. "Even if the charge is kept under seal and hidden from public view, that, too, is prohibited."

He added, "Charging the President with a crime was therefore not an option we could consider"

Trump got off on a technicality.

From what we know now, it does sound like one of the FBI agents misrepresented the source of info used to get the FISA warrant. So, there was wrongdoing on that part and that's not right. But please stop with the lies about him being innocent, that's not at all what the report says and what Mueller explained.
And let's not forget that we never got to hear from the star witness, because he refused to sit for a deposition. We know it's because he doesn’t even know what the truth is so he would have surely incriminated himself. But without hearing his version of events, it was hard to get to the bottom of it.

History has proven you right? Bro what planet are you on? What history has proven you right? The fbi and doj have destroyed all credibility by violating everything they portend to stand for in a wild goose chase. And they blow themselves up every time. This is just another rendition

You are right about a dark time for democracy. No one believes anything they say anymore. Good job adults

Sorry dude, I don’t believe in flat earth
but you do you. And I don’t even blame you for believing in your fantasy world (election stolen, lol). I would highly recommend you read this book, it explains how people deal with cognitive dissonance through self-justification. It’s fascinating really, shows that self justification is not an intelligence problem, so people like you are not dumb. It’s just that some are more prone to avoiding facts that counter their worldview so as to avoiding dissonance.

Check it out, it describes people like you to a T! (“Why we justify foolish beliefs” is part of the title). It cracks me up every time I read some of the threads, reminds of a lot of examples from the book.

You are tickling me. TDS is very strong here.

Reading and having understanding of big words like exonerate is important when trying to understand that he was not found innocent.

He tried to collude, and like most things Donald Trump has tried to do in his life he failed at it because they were woefully incompetent.
They didnt prove he colluded at all. In fact the evidence showed the DNC and the deep state made it all up and were the ones with ties to Russia. The fact you think one must prove they are innocent rather than the state having to prove guilt says a lot about your way of thinking.

If that were actually true (and legal) you don't find it the least bit concerning that a POTUS can just haphazardly declassify anything that comes on his property? That just sounds bonkers to me.

Regardless of how it sounds all laws are under the thumb of the President

For example the FBI is wasting resources investigating Hunter Biden and the family including Joe the President

Ad much as i dont like it President Biden can simply pardon everyone or push for a settlement with all records sealed

Trump can simply carry the records out the door and they are declassified

Do i like the idea that someone could carry stuff out that easy NO

Let me assure you that Trump more than likely has nothing of importance as that is not his style

Most of the media is printing hyperbolic news and not factual reality

In the end nothing will come of this because the Dems have a lot the Pubs can point out they did and all of this will vanish

Remember I said this in three months this will be forgotten

Trump will be announcing a run for 2024

SPERRY: FBI Agents Involved in Trump Raid are Under Criminal Investigation by Durham For Abusing Their Power in Trump-Russia Probe

By Cristina Laila

Recall, investigative reporter Paul Sperry was suspended from Twitter earlier this week after he revealed the FBI may have had a personal stake and searched for classified documents related to Spygate.
“DEVELOPING: Investigators reportedly met back in June w Trump & his lawyers in Mar-a-Lago storage rm to survey docs & things seemed copasetic but then FBI raids weeks later. Speculation on Hill FBI had PERSONAL stake & searching for classified docs related to its #Spygate scandal.” – investigative journalist Paul Sperry said in a tweet Tuesday before getting suspended from Twitter.
Sperry dropped another bomb on Saturday.
According to Paul Sperry, the federal agents involved in the Mar-a-Lago raid are under investigation by Special Counsel John Durham.
TRENDING: ONE YEAR AGO TODAY: Taliban Terrorists Storm Kabul and Enter Presidential Palace -- Biden Regime Stunned By Developments
“Developing: Sources say the FBI agents and officials who were involved in the raid on former President Trump’s home work in the same Counterintelligence Division of the FBI that investigated Trump in the Russiagate hoax and are actively under criminal investigation by Special Counsel John Durham for potentially abusing their power investigating Trump in the Russian fraud and therefore have a potential conflict of interest and should have been RECUSED from participating in this supposed “espionage” investigation at Mar-a-Lago” Sperry said in a social media post on Saturday.

More than 3 dozen FBI agents descended on Trump’s Florida residence on Monday and searched the compound for several hours.
The FBI would not allow Trump’s lawyers to be anywhere near the areas that were rummaged through.
“Everyone was asked to leave the premises, they wanted to be left alone, without any witnesses to see what they were doing, taking or, hopefully not, “planting.” Why did they STRONGLY insist on having nobody watching them, everybody out?” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday.
The Washington Post on Thursday published a ‘leak’ from so-called government officials who claimed the FBI searched Trump’s Florida residence for classified records related to nuclear weapons.
The FBI raid was so urgent that the US government waited for more than a year-and-a-half after Trump left office to search for records related to ‘nuclear weapons.’
Furthermore, according to the search warrant obtained by Breitbart News, US Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart signed off on the search warrant on Aug. 5, 2022 but the FBI didn’t conduct the raid until August 8.
If this was such an urgent matter (it wasn’t) then why did the FBI wait several days until they descended on Trump’s home?
Breitbart also published the names of the FBI agents who signed off on the raid.
It appears the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago to seize documents that likely implicated the FBI – and now they’re claiming the records were related to nuclear weapons to justify the raid.

Clarifying the System and Authorities to Classify Information–Based on this, Trump Followed the Law

By Larry Johnson
Published August 13, 2022 at 7:15am

I suspect the bulk of the readers of this blog have never held a clearance, much less a Top Secret SI TK Gamma with SAPs. In fact, my use of acronyms such as “SI” or “TK” probably has you scratching your head. Understanding the system is key for you to realize that Donald Trump has broken no law and that this latest claim accusing him of illegally taking and storing classified it total bullshit. It is the tactic of desperate men and women eager to put an end to Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign for the Presidency.
I want you to first take a look at Executive Order 13526 issued by none other than Barack Obama. Sorry for the lengthy quote but it is important that you understand that Donald Trump acted in accordance with the Executive Order:
Sec. 1.2. Classification Levels.
(a) Information may be classified at one of the following three levels:
TRENDING: ONE YEAR AGO TODAY: Taliban Terrorists Storm Kabul and Enter Presidential Palace -- Biden Regime Stunned By Developments
(1) ‘‘Top Secret’’ shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security that the original classification authority is able to identify or describe.
(2) ‘‘Secret’’ shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause serious damage to the national security that the original classification authority is able to identify or describe.
(3) ‘‘Confidential’’ shall be applied to information, the unauthorized disclosure of which reasonably could be expected to cause damage to the national security that the original classification authority is able to identify or describe.
Sec. 1.3. Classification Authority.
(a) The authority to classify information
originally may be exercised only by:
(1) the President and the Vice President;

(2) agency heads and officials designated by the President; and
(3) United States Government officials delegated this authority pursuant to paragraph (c) of this section.
Sec. 1.4. Classification Categories. Information shall not be considered for classification unless its unauthorized disclosure could reasonably be expected to cause identifiable or describable damage to the national security in accordance with section 1.2 of this order, and it pertains to one or more of the following:
(a) military plans, weapons systems, or operations;
(b) foreign government information;
(c) intelligence activities (including covert action), intelligence sources or methods, or cryptology;
(d) foreign relations or foreign activities of the United States, including confidential sources;
(e) scientific, technological, or economic matters relating to the national security;
(f) United States Government programs for safeguarding nuclear materials or facilities;
(g) vulnerabilities or capabilities of systems, installations, infrastructures, projects, plans, or protection services relating to the national security; or
(h) the development, production, or use of weapons of mass destruction.
Sec. 1.7. Classification Prohibitions and Limitations. (a) In no case shall
information be classified, continue to be maintained as classified, or fail
to be declassified in order to:
(1) conceal violations of law, inefficiency, or administrative error;
(2) prevent embarrassment to a person, organization, or agency;
(3) restrain competition; or
(4) prevent or delay the release of information that does not require protection in the interest of the national security.
Sec. 3.1. Authority for Declassification. (a) Information shall be declassified as soon as it no longer meets the standards for classification under this order.
(b) Information shall be declassified or downgraded by:
(1) the official who authorized the original classification, if that official is still serving in the same position and has original classification authority;
(2) the originator’s current successor in function, if that individual has original classification authority;
(3) a supervisory official of either the originator or his or her successor in function, if the supervisory official has original classification authority; or (4) officials delegated declassification authority in writing by the agency head or the senior agency official of the originating agency.
(c) The Director of National Intelligence (or, if delegated by the Director of National Intelligence, the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence) may, with respect to the Intelligence Community, after consultation with the head of the originating Intelligence Community element or department, declassify, downgrade, or direct the declassification or downgrading of information or intelligence relating to intelligence sources, methods, or activities.
(d) It is presumed that information that continues to meet the classification requirements under this order requires continued protection. In some exceptional cases, however, the need to protect such information may be outweighed by the public interest in disclosure of the information, and in these cases the information should be declassified. When such questions arise, they shall be referred to the agency head or the senior agency official. That official will determine, as an exercise of discretion, whether the public interest in disclosure outweighs the damage to the national security that might reasonably be expected from disclosure.
I want to draw your attention specifically to Section 1.7–In no case shall information be classified, continue to be maintained as classified, or fail to be declassified in order to: (1) conceal violations of law, inefficiency, or administrative error; (2) prevent embarrassment to a person, organization, or agency . . .
I think a case can be made that the FBI and the Department of Justice are violating Obama’s Executive Order by trying to keep the documentary evidence of their lawless behavior classified. The material that Garland and Wray want classified “conceals violations of law.”
Donald Trump ordered the declassification of the Crossfire Hurricane material on December 30, 2020. You can read his order here. Donald Trump followed the law and acted in accordance with Barack Obama’s Executive Order.
One other point of clarification for most readers. There are only a small number of organizations in the United States Government that produce original intelligence where the members of those organizations have originating authority to classify a document or image or electronic communication. These agencies are:
  • The Central Intelligence Agency (human source information)
  • The Defense Intelligence Agency (human source information)
  • The National Security Agency (NSA)
  • National Geospatial- Intelligence Agency (NGA),
  • National Reconnaissance Office (NRO)
They produce original intelligence and, under Obama’s Executive Order, can determine the classification of the material/information they produce. Everyone else who writes an intelligence report based on the data produced by these five agencies has Derivative Classification authority.
Other entities, such as the FBI, DEA, Coast Guard and Department of Energy are nominally part of the intelligence community, but spend more time consuming intelligence product than producing intelligence product. The FBI and DEA in particular try not to produce intelligence from information (aka evidence) they collect in the course of an investigation because they want to be able to use that information in a prosecution. This is not to say that the FBI and DEA never produce intelligence, but it is not their primary task or focus.
I have written extensively in the past on Russiagate and the FBI’s role in promoting and executing lawless actions (click here). The raid on Mar A Lago is a just a new chapter in a long, tragic book. Regardless of how you feel about Donald Trump, he represented and still represents an existential threat to the corruption that has spread through the Federal Government. Vladimir Putin’s battle with recalcitrant oligarchs is child’s play compared to trying to clean out the vipers nest that controls Washington, DC.

So you think they can only work on one thing at a time? Also, what does that have to do with this case?
So a US citizen is turned radical, has contact with the Iranian guard via social media, we have no idea about it until European and Middle Eastern intelligence agencies notify us, almost kills someone that the Iranian govt wants dead and your best response is "it has nothing to do with this" and "they can work on more than one thing at a time"?

Theres also a group threatening more and taking credit for firebombing pregnancy aid centers around the country - idno theyre well into the double digits now id say thats enough to maybe say something publicly and you know…do their jobs investigating. Seems more like domestic terrorism than the domestic terrorists they were investigating at pta meetings. So yea…kinda does feel like theyre only working on one thing.

This guy was suspended from Twitter, wow... his claims must have been getting WAY too close to the truth. Bad actors don’t care to censor a lie, what they censor is the truth.

I personally believe Trump will be charged with something out of this raid. The leftists who have taken over this country threw all their cards on the table with this raid. The FBI has already proven to anyone not watching CNN and MSNBC that they are corrupt. They will manufacture evidence if they have to. And they will. This is about more than Trump, this is a message to all freedom loving conservatives that this country is different now, and if they’ll take down a former President they can take down anyone.

And the real smokescreen here is taking attention away from the midterm elections coming up in a couple months. I think many Republicans are going to be shocked that this red wave they’ve been predicting for a year now doesn’t materialize. The Dems and liberal media will give a lot of excuses as to why the Dems shocked the world. But the Dems know they no longer have to worry about elections or the consequences of elections. You act like Venezuela (or other authoritarian countries) on all fronts when you don’t have to worry about the consequences of elections.

Like the “stop the steal” fundraisers that weren’t used for that cause at all, as long as some people keep falling for this, he will making money off of people’s hatred of the left. He is a shrewd business man, I’ll give him that, he has monetized polarization and is making money off of people that act out of repulsion. Look at all the posts here, every time someone says something about Trump, you have 3 “what about the Dems” replies. Tapping into this sense of frustration makes business sense.

The truth is some of you realize he lies, manipulates, and is overall a bad person, but see him as the lesser of the two evils because Hilary/AOC/Wokeness.

Personally, I don't think it's ok for politicians to use campaign funds outside of the intended purpose and I'd like to see more policies enforced here. That said, why would Eric Swalwell need to campaign in France? Took a pretty lavish trip overseas, stayed in some incredible hotels that would be way too expensive if governed by the Govt's travel and per diem policies........his constituents are in California the last time I checked.

The govt are the worst offenders of fraud, waste and abuse.

Dude, it's like the 3rd or 4th post where you and I totally agree in 2 days, LOL.

I agree, can't justify the way some elected officials abuse of their power and spend money in a way they shouldn't. Getting taxed on your hard earned money is already annoying, but to see it getting wasted on wasteful spending is infuriating.

Good article that articulates the missteps by the DOJ not to mention the absolute, out in the open bias of the head of NARA. It's clear at this point that they (DOJ/FBI) intentionally leaked to media in an effort to win support for what is starting to look like an unjustified raid on both an ex-president and potentially the opponent to Biden in 2024. Garland shouldn't be allowed to remain involved as there is no way he can be seen as anything but biased.
