It's an mRNA vaccine. The blueprint for the spike protein that causes disease gets put in your body, it lasts for about 24 hours and has your cells make some sample spike proteins. Your immune system recognizes that these spike proteins are foreign and attacks them and builds immunity. The spike proteins are gone, the mRNA samples have been gone. You are left with antibodies and no COVID
I am type 1 diabetic and found out in Jan that I didn’t have the antibodies after having Covid in August . Everyone ‘s situation is different but I received my second shot two weeks and haven’t had any issues .
Why not? I was speaking with a dental hygentist and she was upset that many young dental techs were not getting the Vax (have high-priority status). Their reasoning is if they get exposed they two weeks off work with pay. I have no first hand knowledge, but I don’t feel real good about opening wide in the dental chair. I would like to think medical workers, Uber drivers, airline stewards, restaurant wait staffs, and other people that come in contact with others get the Vax.
It does keep you from spreading it.

I doubt people who don't want to get the vaccine are afraid of dying when they get it. I would have no fear about immediate effects as these are known from the vaccine trials. The question, in my opinion is what long term effects could there be? This is the unknown because of the accelerated approval process and lack of longer term studies of the vaccine.

Same here. I had it in December. I cant quite say i felt like i wanted to die, but on days six through ten, I could understand why some people would want to call Dr Kevorkian. I also had a new admiration for those who endure chronic physical pain.

If her doctor is not against her getting the vaccine, I would go to a local pharmacy(like an ingles pharmacy) that has less traffic around the end of the daily times for vaccines. IF they have more vaccines than they have appointments to administer them, they can give her one because they would just have to throw them away otherwise. You may want to stop by one close to your house and give them your number and have them call you if they have unexpected availability at the end of the day.
We love each other's music but we obviously do not agree on this, lol. But our circumstances are different.
No one has died from the vaccine or from having Covid after receiving the vaccine.

Don't know where you're located but in many communities you can sign up at local drugstores and if they have extras at end of day they'll call you within an hour or 2 of closing and you can take your daughter to go get one. I know people from SC to Alaska who have gotten shots this way.
Excuse me, but without Trump pushing to remove all the bureaucratic red tape and regulations which normally cause a new medication to take up to 5-10 years to hit the market, and working with the pharmaceutical companies to ensure a shorter, but safe as possible, timeline, no, there would be no vaccine and, there is very little risk for these companies, because, as part of the deal, no matter what happens with their vaccine, they can’t be sued.
