Post a link to all of em. Thanks.

Or destroys. You think there is a high likelihood of an unwanted baby saving the world that will come from this? Aren’t you always saying it’s not where you grow up, but the family environment and upbringing that makes a person?

Unwanted pregnancy is called that for a reason.

stop living in a fairytale
This is where I find it weird that republicans are against abortion.

Think if all these babies - about 800K a year on average legal abortions, 90% born into poverty - were born instead of aborted. Crime would increase. Welfare increase. Huge drain on the system.

Liberals should be the ones against abortion. It’s kinda weird how the wrong sides were picked.

Show me the birth certificate. Wait just a minute it’s not called a conception certificate? Why is that?
Because in 1970 ultra sound didn’t exist. They could pretend it was a shapeless mass of tissue, something other than a human being developing, in what should be the safest of all places, it’s own mothers womb. Now a mother can go to a doctor and see a human being inside of her in clear detail. A face, fingers and toes, she can listen to its heart beat. Her baby is human, alive and is totally unique from all other humans in history by dna. It’s a HUMAN BEING man. Killing the most innocent and defenseless of humans is barbaric.

1. Justices aren't elected regardless of how many links you post

2. Texas abortion law: The law is not enforced by the state, but rather allows anyone to sue an individual who performs or knowingly “aids and abets” an abortion (e.g., medical providers, family members, friends) after a so-called heartbeat is detected.

3. Kentucky law allows abortion up to 15 weeks down from 20 weeks (Very misleading to say it outlaws something when you have 15 weeks to get an abortion)

4. Utah... You're literally talking about them changing their platform. Give me a break (actually read a damn article for god's sake)This weekend, the Utah GOP will vote at its state convention on whether to amend the party’s “Right to Life” plank

Amid the campaigning and politicking at the Utah Republican State Convention on Saturday, delegates will also consider a change to the party platform that takes a much harder line on abortion.

Currently, the “Right to Life” plank reads, “We strongly oppose abortion, except to preserve the life of the mother or in cases of rape or incest.” The proposed change would replace the exceptions with the phrase “and encourage adoption.”

5. This one is just too multifaceted to tackle in one setting.

I'll give you some wiggle room on 5 because of the complexity of the situation, but your other examples are nothing more than pure hyperbole/poppycock.

You think your simpleton parsing of the language changes the fact that you're WRONG?

1. Justices aren't elected regardless of how many links you post - how about "confirmed?" Same thing and doesn't change the point I made.

2. Texas abortion law: The law is not enforced by the state, but rather allows anyone to sue an individual who performs or knowingly “aids and abets” an abortion (e.g., medical providers, family members, friends) after a so-called heartbeat is detected. Texas still created the law that allows it

3. Kentucky law allows abortion up to 15 weeks down from 20 weeks (Very misleading to say it outlaws something when you have 15 weeks to get an abortion) Didn't mention that - I said no exception for incest and rape

Justices - The point is they aren't elected. You're doing yourself no favors here

Texas - You made it sound like any ole joe could sue anyone they wanted because of muh abortion which isn't true. It said you could sue anyone that breaches the heartbeat statute. That's completely different from the way you framed it.

Kentucky - It doesn't matter what the reason behind the abortion, you have up to 15 weeks to get it. Including the wording rape and incest isn't even necessary, is it?

Utah- At no point in any article did it state they were pushing through any piece of legislation that used that language. It was simply them changing their platform language while keeping the core principle of allowing abortion to save a mother's life (this is actually linked in the article you so graciously posted)

Florida - again, it's far too murky to prove one stance versus the other considering the multilayered argument that you laid out in your op. If you'd like to break down each independent variable and discuss that, I'd be down.

Nice backpedal but you're still WRONG. 2 seconds of googling you said.

"Senate Bill 8, which allows anyone to sue anyone who performs or aids in an abortion, marks an unprecedented change to who has standing to bring a lawsuit. The tactic is also an emerging trend in Republican-dominated states that may compromise constitutional rights, some legal experts said."

"If forced-birth policies were a sick game of poker, Utah Republicans have seen other states removing rape and incest exceptions to abortion bans and would like to raise them the removal of life exceptions."

"This weekend, the Utah GOP will vote at its state convention on whether to amend the party’s “Right to Life” plank to oppose abortion in all circumstances—no matter if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest, or if the pregnancy threatens the health or life of the pregnant person. The proposal would literally remove those exceptions and replace it with the words: “and encourage adoption.” Translation: Every zygote, embryo, and fetus has a fundamental right to life, but the pregnant person does not."

You laugh but it wasn't long ago that we thought the idea of overturning Roe vs Wade was preposterous. Sorry, but the GOP can't be trusted anymore.

PS - Swallwell is the man!

Except for the following was in the leaked Alito memo which clearly states that this ruling only applies to abortion and no other right.

"[T]o ensure that our decision is not misunderstood or mischaracterized, we emphasize that our decision concerns the constitutional right to abortion and no other right. Nothing in this opinion should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion,"

Biden didn't think it was preposterous back in 1982. I know he can't remember what day of the week it is but man this guy sure does flip flop on stance pretty often.

And your point is? He also said this at his confirmation hearing

"Well, I think the doctrine of stare decisis is a very important doctrine. It’s a fundamental part of our legal system, and it’s the principle that courts in general should follow their past precedents, and it’s important for a variety of reasons. It’s important because it limits the power of the judiciary. It’s important because it protects reliance interest, and it’s important because it reflects the view that courts should respect the judgments and the wisdom that are embodied in prior judicial decisions. It’s not an inexorable command, but it is a general presumption that courts are going to follow prior precedents, and as you mentioned"—

Each state has different laws around gun ownership which push the boundaries of the 2nd amendment via state created/mandated laws. For example, applications have to be submitted and approved in the state of NJ and it takes special consideration to purchase a handgun not to mention months of wait time for approval post background check, reference checks etc etc. Also, the types of firearms you are allowed to own are very restrictive, no AR-15's for example. Those laws will look drastically different than say Alabama or Texas which means states choose their own laws to govern.

Roe vs Wade is also not a constitutional amendment, it was a ruling based on the interpretation of a referenced constitutional amendment that stood behind the woman's right to choose and etched into law back in the 70's.

While I didn't really think Roe vs Wade needed to be overturned necessarily, the reality is it was already being governed differently by each state anyway as much like gun laws, states use their own legal ramifications to tighten or restrict. All SCOTUS are doing is making it officially the states problem and I'm pretty positive this won't be the final pass. It gets contested frequently and I'm sure it potentially gets overturned again once blue states file lawsuits.

Also, 300 total supreme court rulings have been overturned in the history of the supreme court and while that's not an eye opening total given the longevity, it's indicative of this case not being the first. Interpretation changes by generation in many cases and that's their job, too interpret.

1)In the article you posted on this, if you read it, Barrett pretty much said she did not agree with Roe without saying it explicitly. Gorsuch evaded the question by saying he accepted the law of the land, whatever it may be - not that he agreed with it. Once it is no longer the law of the land, he does not have to accept it. I don't think either one of them indicated they agreed with Roe, with Barrett pretty much saying she did not. I think Kavanaugh pulled a Bill Clinton, it depends on what your definition of is is. lol. It depends on what your definition of settled law is. - and as already mentioned, jusdges are not elected.

2) The TX law specifically forbids suits against the women getting the abortion, so you are unquestionably wrong here.

3) Kentucky is not outlawing abortions at all. You can get an abortion for any reason(including rape and incest) up to 15 weeks. All they are doing is moving back the exceptions to abortion from 20 to 15 weeks. Wrong again.

4) When members of a political state convention can pass (or even introduce) laws come see me. Personally I wish you were right on this one, we would be much better off if republican conventions were able to pass laws, that would be awesome! Sadly, you could be more wrong on this one.

5) Agree here. You can throw in the federal govt and teachers unions as another group attacking teachers, history, math and every other subject with radical nonsense that has no place in schools. So, you are right, just not how you think you are.

Clearly an invented right. What the fvck does that even mean? All rights are invented, we live in a human built society of our liking.
The Supreme Court is supposed to rule only according to the constitution. That is all. They cannot consider anything other than that. To change anything else , the constitution has to be changed. The Supreme Court only INTERPRETS, they do not make laws or policies.

1) I didn't say they agreed with it. I said they lied in order to get confirmed. https://thehill.com/news/3475255-co...nsistent-with-what-gorsuch-kavanaugh-told-me/

2) This is the only thing you're right about. I misspoke and shouldn't have included the mother, but it's still sinister, draconian nonsense.

3) I didn't say that Kentucky outlawed abortions. I made the point that the law didn't provide exclusions for rape or incest.

4) I didn't say they passed a law. I said the GOP drafted a proposal! Jeez man, put on your reading glasses.

5) This is called projection

My point is still valid - Republicans can't be trusted. They're feverishly trying to roll back rights and take us back to some imaginary time in the past...because they know the Supreme Court is on their side and that makes them confident their ridiculous laws will withstand challenges.

This type of thinking is truly terrifying.
800,000 “babies” a year chopped into pieces and thrown into dumpsters because their lives were deemed by someone else as not worthy of living. Talk about playing god! How many people who have made monumental contributions to humanity were born poor? Is money or lack there of to determine whether someone gets to live or die? Maybe the government should form an administration that determines whether a baby deserves to be born or slaughtered in its mothers womb. That way people who aren’t deemed smart enough or wealthy enough won’t make the wrong choice!
I know! The government can come up with a baseline income you have to make or your baby will be killed before birth and thrown out with the trash as it is when a woman decides to have her baby aborted now.
How about you? Want to make a contribution to society since humans are only worth what others think they are?
Take a poll to decide if it’s worth society paying potentially millions when your old and very sick to give you a few more weeks or months of life. This already happens in socialist/communist countries every day so why not you? Why not here? For all the elderly?
some of us oppose abortion because to us all life is sacred and valuable and taking the most vulnerable and innocent of life is murder.
We believe as the founding fathers—“ We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men have been endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights. Among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

so you are saying this was an intentional leak by the Dems to save elections that we’re going down the tubes due to Biden’s miserable performance in the White House ! Brilliant strategy !

no, I am saying that in a 2016 presidential debate against Hilary, Trump said he would appoint pro life justices that ultimately overturn Roe v Wade. The majority of Americans don’t agree with this. Trumps appointees “claimed” that they believed in precedent and would not overturn the decision. They lied.

Now, here we are. don’t blame democrats. If not leaked, this decision would have been made public in 6 weeks anyway.

there will be repercussions.

The Supreme Court is supposed to rule only according to the constitution. That is all. They cannot consider anything other than that. To change anything else , the constitution has to be changed. The Supreme Court only INTERPRETS, they do not make laws or policies.
I'm just gonna dump this
Lots of countries with legal abortion actually have way lower rates of abortion because of affordable contraceptives and comprehensive sex ed. The US has higher abortion rates per capita than Canada, France, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Iceland and many other countries which give their population way better access to safe and affordable abortions.

If pro-lifers really thought that abortion was murder, they should’ve been advocating for free contraception and nationwide sex ed. Statistically, that does way more to reduce the need for abortion than abstinence only education. But, of course, conservatives don’t do that.

You again

1) If they didn't say they agreed with it, how did they lie? The article you posted quotes Kav as saying it should be extremely rare that precedent should be overturned, NOT that it should never be overturned.? It is extremely rare that president is overturned and overturning this clearly wrong decision would not change the fact that he thinks it should only be done in rare instances
2) 👍

3) Kentucky creating an abortion law that outlaws abortions even in the case of rape and incest - check
Those are your exact words, lol. WRONG!

4)You did not say they passed a law or that they drafted a proposal. You said:
  • Utah drafting an abortion law that doesn't even make an exception for "life of the mother" -
This is categorically WRONG. There is no law being passed, drafted or otherwise. They are discussing/proposing changing their platform/views. Some of the people there are not even members of the legislator and couldn't pass a state wide jaywalking if they wanted to. WRONG,WRONG,WRONG

5)Like I said, we agree this is happening.
