⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

So, here’s what’s interesting. He withdrew from the case on August 11th because of née information found that day. On August 12th, the uncovered cars on the Murdaugh property was posted by the Lowcountry Crimes Investigators.

Now, Sled has since said that is not true, but something was definitely discovered around that time that was breakthrough in the case, no!?!?
Apparently a car drove by him when he was on the side of the road, turned around, drove back by, and shot him. He is expected to be fine and has communicated with his brother whom he called immediately after the shooting
Lawd. Can’t imagine what he did to people to have people ready to kill you on sight 24/7/365.

My guess is he staged this and tried to off himself
It would be possible to fire a grazing shot. But he would need help. To maybe fire it and certainly to get rid of the gun. Having the friend fire it deals with the residue issue.
What kind of hit man in the middle of nowhere wouldn’t finish the job? It would be too random for me to believe that some gun toating yahoo was just driving by and fired a round.

My parents owned the house on Paukie Island where the oyster roast was. They bought it in the 60's and sold it in late 90's. I spent a great deal of time on Paukie Island growing up. Grew up in Hampton/Varnville and the Murdaugh's were a powerful family. Fortunately, I never had any dealings with them.

I've heard a lot more than one round was fired and the grazing shot may have been a ricochet. I have no idea if that is true however. An interesting story to follow. Will be on the ID channel in the future for sure.

Be glad you didn't take any boat rides with them.

This is about to get even more tragic. I'm absolutely heartbroken over all of this. If you have reason to not like this family I won't argue with you, but anyone else I'd ask for your prayers please.
Done and will continue. Regardless of specific people. When things happen to families, it affects everyone so I sympathize with you and the rest of your family.

@murdaugh this sounds bad. So vague that a person could take it that he’s taking blame for the whole thing. I hope that’s not the case, but if my continued reports of his deep narcissistic personality is true, it would match up…

NEW: Statement from Alex Murdaugh after Saturday shooting. “The murders of my wife and son have caused an incredibly difficult time in my life. I have made a lot of decisions that I truly regret…

“I’m resigning from my law firm and entering rehab after a long battle that has been exacerbated these murders. I am immensely sorry to everyone I’ve hurt including my family, friends and colleagues. I ask for prayers as I rehabilitate myself and my relationships.”

Fits news reporting opioid addiction and the story from Saturday is not holding up under sled’s investigation. Saying opioids possibly involved with the other deaths.

Nothing would surprise me anymore, but he didn't try to kill himself or stage some fake hit. I'll gladly admit I was wrong if I find out otherwise.

Him being admitted into rehab after this incident tells me something is way off. When someone intended to kill you, rehab isn’t typically where you go. Rehab is where you go when you tried to kill yourself.

Clearly he has done something he feels the need to apologize for.

I have no connections of any kind to this case other than a passing familiarity with the brothers Murdaugh. My instincts as a retired investigator is that an indictment on the double murder is/was coming and this whole weekend incident is an attempt by a smart guy and a former prosecutor to muddy the waters and start to set up a defense blaming the alcohol/drugs. I've always believed it started with a tragic shooting between son and mom, son threatening suicide, mom trying to talk him off the "ledge", son loses it in a moment and shoots mom. Dad hears shots, grabs shotgun and finds his dead wife. Turns shotgun on son. The whole connection to the other murder is intriguing, What evidenced did SLED find at the double murder scene leading them back to the previous case? I think it was the rifle left at the scene used to kill mom. In any event, very tragic.

Which previous case? The boat didn't involve a rifle....nor did the dead young man on the side of the road...nor did the woman who died at their house. Or am I wrong?

He is referring to Stephan Smith case

So, the opioid addiction is sad. Did it cost Alex his wife and son? Did he get entangled with the wrong group and is now paying the piper? That would make a lot more sense than someone seeking revenge for Mallory Beach. The Beach family is salt of the earth and has nothing to do with this. Nor does it make sense for someone that felt bad for the family to come after the Murdaugh’s.

But a ruthless drug group? Hmmm… And is rehab a form of protection plan? It’s obvious that up until this point Alex has not been forthcoming with the details of his troubles, but now maybe he’s come clean. Details should indeed come soon!

I sure hope you're either perfect or that you don't have to reap what you sow.
Not perfect. I have seen more evil than most on this board and had to do/see things that I will pay for in the next life, I’m sure. But I know I haven’t (allegedly) killed three innocent people and used my families power to cover it up.

I just find self-awareness lacking a bit for a Murdaugh to come in a public forum and ask for prayers during a “tragic time” when the family has caused the exact same hurt for ATLEAST three other families, and that’s probably conservative. Their families get my prayers and will continue to do so.

I will leave it there and move on.

So, he slashed his own tire and stole millions???

Unfortunately. He’s as terrible as I’ve said he was the whole time. It was no mystery, there were all kinds of stories of drunken binders, destroying property, affair, major abuse of power, narcissistic behavior, intimidation and cover ups.
This is what you get when you give someone too much power.

I go back to his brother on Good Morning America, “we’re just like everyone else”. How unaware are these douchebags?!?!
