⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

Which witness was on the stand when the judge warned Buster for making an obsene jesture.
The judge didn’t warn him. He was chewing on his finger nail and folks made something sinister out of it. It was during Mark Tinsley’s testimony.

It seems like something Buster would do. He’s a little bitch

I don’t sense that he has that Alpha in him that AM and Paul did

each kid is different but he seems lost and not headed for prime time
Hope he wasn't involved with anything still lingering and finds his way forward. I cannot imagine being him. I would never put my son in that position....and I would never be in jail for murdering my spouse and other son either.

Hope he is a faith-based because now is the time to lean on God.

one thing blatantly missing from the trial - ANY mention of faith or church attendance

not being righteous but there was a glaring lack of faith for a southern family story

Buster Murdaugh complains to police about being followed, photographed on Hilton Head
By: Sofia Sanchez - The Island Packet

HILTON HEAD -- Days after his father was convicted and sentenced to two life terms for killing his wife and youngest son in 2021, Buster Murdaugh told the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office he was being harassed by national media photographers.

At 10 a.m. Sunday, Murdaugh, 26, called police to complain that a photo appeared in a New York Post article showing him through the blinds of his Hilton Head condo where he lives with his girlfriend, Brooklyn White.

The photo appears to have been taken at night with Murdaugh only visible through a gap between the blinds. After looking at their Ring Doorbell footage, the couple saw a “suspicious” car outside their home and told police, based on the car’s vantage point and where Murdaugh was in the home at the time, that they believe the driver of the car took the photo.

Police told Murdaugh they would perform extra patrols in the neighborhood, according to the report.

Less than an hour later, White called police to say she and Buster Murdaugh were “being followed by the media” while going down U.S. 278 near Spanish Wells Road heading off the island. Police saw the car that was allegedly following the couple and pulled the driver over for “speeding and making improper lane changes,” deputies said in the report. Police noted that the driver had what looked to be a “camera bag” with him when they pulled him over and he had a Louisiana driver’s license. They gave him a warning.

Buster Murdaugh is the older son of Alex Murdaugh, who was convicted after a six-week trial in the deaths of his 52-year-old wife, Maggie, and 22-year-old son, Paul. Both were found shot to death on June 7, 2021, at the family’s sprawling property in Hampton County known as Moselle. Alex Murdaugh said he found their bodies outside the dog kennels on the property. He was charged with the murders last July.

Buster regularly attended the six-week trial in Walterboro, S.C., along with other family members, and Brooklyn was often seen in the courtroom. They met while attending law school at the University of South Carolina, according to media reports.

The trial concluded Thursday evening when, after less than three hours of deliberation, a jury found Alex Murdaugh guilty on all charges. He was sentenced to two life terms the next morning by 14th Circuit Judge Clifton Newman.

Interest in the trial has garnered national media attention and resulted in several docuseries from channels and streaming giants including CNN, Netflix and HBO Max. The series have explored the Murdaugh family’s legal dynasty built over a century in the Lowcountry, Alex Murdaugh’s alleged financial crimes, and deaths of people close to the Murdaugh family.

Those deaths included that of Gloria Satterfield, the family’s housekeeper; Mallory Beach, Paul Murdaugh’s classmate who was killed in a boat accident in 2019 where Paul Murdaugh was driving, and Stephen Smith, a Hampton County 19-year-old and friend of Buster’s who was killed in a reported hit-and-run accident. The S.C. Law Enforcement Division reopened its investigation into the 2015 death of Smith two weeks after the double murders at Moselle.

Alex Murdaugh has yet to go to trial for nearly 100 other criminal charges connected to millions he admitting stealing from clients he represented while practicing as a lawyer, including the Satterfield family and the law firm his family founded a century ago.

Following the trial, Murdaugh was taken from Walterboro to a S.C. Department of Corrections facility in Columbia. He will be assigned to the corrections institute where he will serve his life sentences following a 30-day evaluation period.

His lawyers have said they will appeal the convictions.

Have we ever seen Buster and this guy at the same time? I’m just saying, this should be investigated.

just about the errors in admitting evidence which are mostly to blame on Poot and Jim’s questions opening the door

Defense is to blame on length of trial because Judge was limiting to Faris (Chris Wilson matter only) that was discussed in office on 6/7

Poot and JimJim don’t want to mention that
judge has all 99 of the financial cases ...at least that is what he said when sentencing Alex.....would not be surprised to see Poot try to get a different judge assigned to those

Newman obviously agreed with the verdict.....and he has Alex balls in his hands so to speak so he can guarantee Alex stays in jail forever if an appeal works.

Your attitude is what's wrong with the Clemson football team. You settle. Why aren't you shooting for a 1,000,000? Pretty sure if the drug busts are coming soon, financial cases are on the dockets, and bodies are being exhumed, we've just experienced the tip of the iceberg.

Any who want off the Titanic should exit with the Ignore the Thread button. The Titanic hits the bottom when it's ready.
Don't forget Buster is next! The Steven Smith trial case has been reopened and that should be good for at least 1-2 hundred thousand posts.

Paul had alpha in him? I must have a complete misunderstanding of that term.

Per Eric Bland:

Creighton Waters told him that their next priority was the Gloria Satterfield case.

Now the Gloria Satterfield case is two things -- one is the obvious financial misappropriation and fraud, which Alex has already admitted to. But then there are questions about her death that are a big unknown. They did exhume her body, maybe a year ago, but I have not heard any other details.
Do not think the Satterfield case is a huge priority from a financial angle. Bland has stated many times he has already recovered 7.5 million for his clients(minus his cut) from parties involved). Now the sentencing for it could be important not to mention possible murder charges ( but do not see how they can get evidence this long after the death).

Randy does an interview in front of a wood pile, and now he's a hard working straight shooter. I'm convinced, too.
Pretty harsh statement...I think there is plenty in that article to show he is opposite of Alex . Families have single black sheep guess he is the white sheep of the family . Think John Marvin is somewhere in-between

Would be interesting to know if he'd have come out like this in the event of Alex's acquittal.

I'm skeptical of the entire family. Maybe that's not fair.
Probably would not be interviewing him if verdict was not guilty but I think he would still feel Alex did not tell the truth and the financial crimes are still there. I believe he would continue to basically not have anything to do with him because of all the lies.

Interestingly, on the 20/20 show that aired a few days ago Randy sat with John Marvin and looked into the camera unequivocally saying there's no way Alex did it.

I think this particular interview was from a while back, but still.

Another really interesting passage from the NYT article:

Randy’s complicated view of the case, which he shared in a two-hour conversation on Sunday as he stacked wood at his hunting property outside the town of Hampton, was at odds with the definitive pronouncement that one of Alex Murdaugh’s lawyers made on Friday about the Murdaugh family.

“After six weeks of trial, they came away more convinced that he did not do this, and they are steadfastly in his camp and support him,” the lawyer, Jim Griffin, said at a news conference after Alex was sentenced to two life prison terms.

Alex Murdaugh’s younger brother, John Marvin Murdaugh, and surviving son, Buster Murdaugh, both testified for the defense at trial, saying that he had seemed devastated after the murders. Randy Murdaugh, who emphasized that he was speaking for himself and not any of his relatives, was not called to testify. He thinks it is possible no one put him on the stand because he did not align perfectly with either side.

Going to be fascinating to see if John Marvin and Buster choose to let Griffin's account ride. Because the idea that both of them are now "more convinced" in the innocence of a convicted double-murderer is not a good thing for a reputation ... or a conscience.

Right? The family business was creating a good ole boy system of manipulation and crossing lines aka cheating the system.

Seems to me if your last name was Murdaugh and you were a lawyer in Hampton County that you would have to take his stance, at least publicly, if you wanted to continue your career. Not saying he is lying, but i also think he is not naive about the public perception.

The interview was from June 17, 2021, two weeks after the murder, before the "attempted suicide" and before the financial crimes and the drug addiction and the kinnel video came to light.

Right? The family business was creating a good ole boy system of manipulation and crossing lines aka cheating the system.

I keep hearing about how good a guy John Marvin is, but I put myself in the shoes of the parents of the deceased girl who are still trying to reconcile how in the hell he was the person to tow away the evidence the morning after the accident.

I am not basing my opinion of Randy on a single article. If you are, then that's OK.

Randy has financial incentive to distance himself from Alex. John Marvin, not so much.
