⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

From what I have gathered, Curtis Eddie Smith had an alibi, but it wasn't ironclad... Easy to leave the phone home and have contacts vouch for his whereabouts... He would be my number one suspect...

I have also heard theories that Alex wasn't really hung up on the oxy's nearly as bad as he lead everyone to believe, which would explain why no one ever saw him high and why he was able to remain competent at work and family events... If true, then he wasn't spending that money on pills, but had a major gambling addiction, and maybe one of his bookies was involved... All theoretical, but it isn't beyond reason...
Pretty interesting. There is a podcast with Mandy Norrell and Mark Tinsley on Youtube that is very informative. It is suggested that Alex has money in the Bahamas in a captive insurance plan through at attorney in Hilton Head (maybe where Buster's girlfriend works)....

Tinsley also confirms that Alex did not have life insurance.

Yeah, I’m fairly confident if Alex said he was taking tons of pills that he wasn’t taking tons of pills. He may have been addicted to pills but he wasn’t taking the amount he was and functioning.

I just wish that law enforcement and the DA’s office cared enough to find out who was actually there and who actually did it.

I want to know who else was there. The one thing I believe that Alex has said is “they did him real bad”

Alex was there, he knew Paul was going to be killed but he didn’t know they would literally blow his brains out.

I want to know who else was there
Idk. I think he was just adding smoke to his boat accident revenge theory. Watch the police cam when the Police first show up. Your wife and kid have been killed. Who starts talking about a boat accident the first thing when cops show up? Maybe a few days later…

Is @murdaugh still around? Can’t imagine what everyone touched by this are going through.
Not really. I’ve been staying away from pretty much everything since the trial started. Didn’t watch a second and didn’t go bc I’m interviewing for a couple new jobs and didn’t wanna show up all over social media for being there. Funny side effect of being off the internet and social media is, I’m about as happy as I’ve been in a really long time.

Doesn't he have a $2 million retirement account that's untouchable? I would think he could fund it himself.
AM doesn't have a nickle to his name anymore. Court appointed lawyers control all Murdaugh assets.

A while back I saw the death certificates for Paul and Maggie... Son of a bitch had them cremated and buried in the cemetery and never bought headstones... What a piece of crap...
Ehhhhh. Smart in a way. You put up a headstone and their graves, which should be peaceful, become a paparazzi spectacle.

AM was the only one there and the man who pulled the triggers.

You are a sucker for his lies.

Good for you!! Hope you get a great job!!

Stay off social media because this story is going to stick around for awhile. It sucked me in June 2021.

Clemson branch of the Murdaugh family seems like the healthy part of the family tree. Prayers, though, for your entire tree....and I have been praying for you in particular.

Good to hear. I assume Murdaugh is your last name? Can’t imagine that not garnering a question after all of this has played out in the media.

I had absolutely amazing parents and God was looking out for us very early on. My dad had accepted a position in Beaufort post military and it was my parents opportunity to move very close to home. Last minute He got a much better offer in the upstate and we never looked back. I think about how life could’ve been dramatically different had I grown up in Beaufort.

You sound incredibly blessed 🙌 😇 🙏!

Parents make such a tremendous difference in a child's outcome. AGTG for the blessings of great parents and AGTG for helping parents understand the blessings and responsibilities of being the best parents they can be.

you should contact JMM and y'all could find the real killers. That could be fun!

I think a psych profile on tigerworx would be interesting. A nerve was clearly touched and his degree of self-righteousness was pretty high. A little over the top for people kicking around a bunch of stuff in a sports forum.

Hey, but maybe he suffered a Timmy boat like situation with someone close. Idk…
Wish you'd have tagged me.
I ran across this accidentally, bored, waiting for 'the news' and wondering why this thread was still being actively followed/commented in.

Have no self-righteousness. Any righteousness any of us would have is not of our own.

I've got some free time if you want to schedule the evaluation.
Would be fun.

You and I could hold hands and maybe get a 2-for-1?

I agree with him that if that was planned, it was't a good plan... Like I've said before, why not use a 40cal M&P with Hornadays and a 15 shot clip? Much easier to hide or conceal, and then dispose...
I still think someone else was there... Could have walked in without a phone and waited in a dark corner for Alex to show up... Plenty of places to hide with all of the different sheds/outbuildings... Then leave with AM and catch a ride from near Almeda...
So if this were the case then why did Alex lie about not being down there just before they died? Without a doubt, I think the most damning piece of evidence was him denying being at the kennels just before the death but the video putting him there.

Because he wanted to open that timeline as wide as he could... He never expected that video to surface, I don't know that he even knew it existed...

Serious question - Do you think Alex witnessed the killings but did not pull the trigger? Then went back to the house, drove to his mom's and chilled for 20 minutes, then came back home and acted like he just found them?

Some people do actually believe that. I'm just wondering if you do as well. I enjoy hearing different theories.

I’m mostly in this boat. I’m not sure if Alex’s father “handled” the Paul situation or if someone else was behind it.

I believe he saw it or knows who did it. I think the drive to his moms was mostly to try and establish an alibi for when he thought it was taking place. Could also have been to transport weapons etc. I’m not totally sure.

I don’t believe Alex pulled the trigger on the shotgun that killed Paul. Not sure he pulled the trigger on Maggie either.

Can you imagine taking the fall and 2 consecutive life sentences because you weren't willing to stand up and tell who pulled the trigger? That's nuts.

It probably a little more nuanced than that. I think he thought he would get a hung jury. I really think he thought that. Now he will go for appeal. I think he really believes he will win an appeal. He truly believes in his power to fix his situation.

If his dad is the one to blame, or buster, or a brother, he’s going to jail anyways, for a long time. He might convince himself to be the fall guy.

His dad was basically dead. Buster was put of town. But maybe.

The problems with this theory is why would he have been anywhere near, why wouldn’t he have set himself up with a true solid alibi, and why would the shooters have used the family guns?

The old man had nothing to do with it. Nothing to be gained there.

If Alex hired it done, Alex would've been out of town. So he did not hire it. This is simple.

If Alex was not himself complicit, the guns would've been found at Moselle. I think this is an important point that most of the "he might be innocent" people are missing. An innocent Alex does not get rid of the guns after finding them. And bad guys who shoot Maggie with the family blackout do not take the blackout with them - they leave it at Moselle.

Now, you might not believe that Maggie and Paul were killed with family weapons. But if that's the case, then you're way out in conspiracy land and you don't believe the evidence.

I was pretty surprised to see you enter this thread. For some reason, I remembered your name being one of those that got the thread moved to the Other Forum. I may be mistaken, so my apologies in advance. I'm pretty sure those who banished us are now on Exile Island 🏝 with this case too. Seems to suck in everyone.

Bit of a naysayer here. Parents should not take too much credit for the good things their kids do, nor too much blame for the bad things their kids do.

On a fundamental level, perhaps Einstein was incorrect; God does play dice with his universe. My younger brother with dementia endured a bad roll of the dice of life. My multimillionaire cousin who went to work for Walmart at a lucky time got a good roll. God loves us all but our outcomes are all over the board.

I was.

Once moved back and the continuing extreme interest, it was like watching a car wreck.
Had to take a peek (even Uga?).
Too, it's been pretty slow on the board this/that time of year.

Sad. All the way around.

Personally, don't undertand the fixation with someone else's troubles.
The interest in comments on here on TI were what intrigued me.

Never watched a video/youtube/TV report on it.
It has no bearing on me or anyone I know.
I have just prayed for all those affected and involved.
Tragic.

I’m a big fan of Occam’s Razor. It’s why I believe Alex had help. To em that’s the simplest solution. One guy, two guns, 15 minutes, hard for me to get there. Seems more complicated than two guys, two guns, plenty of time for cleanup after Alex leaves.

Alex was counting on three things when he planned this. They are:

1. Duffie Stone
2. LE being unwilling to truly consider him a suspect because Murdaugh, and
3. The public, and especially people unfamiliar with guns, not understanding that it's easy to kill with 2 separate guns

I don't disagree that nature plays can play a larger influence. That doesn't mean that nurture doesn't play a larger influence in other instances.

My kids are in their mid-20s, so I realize parenting only sets a foundation and free will of the kid can destroy the entire building down to the foundation.

Regardless, AM and MM provided indulgent, permissive, entitled parenting with no boundaries. Cause + Effect.

I generally skip the GOAT thread (Penny Stocks), but fully support it being posted on the WZ even though it is not football related. I just ignore it....and wondered why you selectively fought back so hard on this one thread.

I'm a true crime junkie and nothing remotely compares to this story. Honestly I was hoping it was someone other than the Dad. Heartbreaking thought that a son and wife look into the eyes of someone they should be able to trust and have him be the cause of death. 😔 God's judgment will be the one that really matters.

We agree completely. Over the last two months every time someone wrote that AM was a loving father and loyal to his family, I almost vomited.

An owner who loves his dog does not let the dog play on the interstate. Facilitating and winking at Paul's adolescent alcohol abuse was criminal, not loving. AM's wrecking Maggie's financial future, concealing his drug abuse and his consorting with sex workers were not the actions of a loving and loyal husband.

Given that all that, the fact AM alone murdered his wife and son in a poorly thought out, poorly concealed manner such that the jury agreed on his guilt in 3 hours is no surprise to most observers. The surprise to me is the lack of near universal agreement with the conclusion LE, the jury, and the majority of casual and not so casual observers reached.

In the end, the jury of his peers (laughing at that because many of the jurors would probably have qualified more as his next victim rather than AM's peers) got it right.

I value all life God creates. I am saddened when man destroys or wastes life, particularly over something senseless as living a life beyond your means (AM, MM), a life out of control (PM, AM), or setting up a child to think life has no boundaries or consequences (MM, AM). Family tragedy.
