⚖️ MURDAUGH MURDERS & TRIAL THREAD ⚖️

Mr. Murdaugh being a person of interest sounds like SOP at this point. Does not mean anything. He found the bodies. His alibi might not have been fully vetted and verified. Doubt that an actual "source" revealed this info.
I expect Alex will sue SLED for putting out info that he is “a person of interest.”

Isn’t the spouse always a person of interest initially?

I too question how such a statement can be realeased. How does someone murder 2 people in cold blood yet the public in that area has nothing to worry about.

That doesn't scream murder/suicide but it also tells us this wasn't random and the police must know something
The fact both mom and son were shot multiple times pretty much rules out murder/ suicide IMO. Also two different guns used, one on each of the victims. This suggest there were multiple assailants

Serious question, when you were 21 did you never do anything that could have gone bad and it put you in the same situation? Is it because he is rich he and his mother deserved to die for boating while intoxicated? If you are perfect, then throw those stones. I know there have been plenty of times I’ve been drinking or drunk and made stupid decisions that thankfully didn’t cause me to be in that kids situation. Maybe you think I should die for making those decisions.
VERY poor analogy

Because one person did something, it makes it alright for another person to dos the same..............excusing both?

From my perspective I think it’s saying more along the lines of be careful judging people for doing something that you yourself have done. However the details that are thrown around about the case cast doubt on the guys character, making it harder to have sympathy for a bad mistake. It could be more of a pattern of behavior depending on what’s true and what’s not. At any rate, the whole thing is tragic.

I've been reading TMB's thread on this and the unfortunate events with this family are just shocking:

  • Cousin (Ashley Murdaugh) murdered in 2018
  • Paul pushes nanny down stairs, killing her in 2018. Blames dog. $500K settlement. ***
  • Paul Murdaugh murders Mallory Beach via reckless endangerment in 2019
  • Paul Murdaugh beats his gay brother's boyfriend to death with a baseball bat. Left for dead in a ditch and cops attribute it to a hit and run.***
  • Paul Murdaugh murdered this week
  • Paul's mother murdered this week
  • Paul's grandfather on his death bed as we speak
  • Cousin sexually assaulted 6 weeks ago in Columbia

WTF. That's 5 murders in their family in a 4 year period. And Alex (Paul's dad) will have lost his son, wife and father in a several day stretch.

I feel absolutely horrible for the good people remaining in that family. I hope this is the end of a very bad stretch of fortune for the Murdaugh family and that they can heal and eventually move on.

***These are the only ones potentially in question.

So, Paul kills a guy with a baseball bat (that apparently everyone knows) but cops cover it up as a hit and run. Let’s just say that I’m somewhat sceptical.

The mother of the boy says there was no glass or car parts around where her son was hit. She did confirm he was gay.
Is there confirmation of a baseball bat or a cover up? I believe the kid got away with a lot of stuff but I stop short of getting away with that. The other family would have made sure it was known. I could obviously be wrong but I’m skeptical. The kid didn’t get away with murdering the girl after all.

Literally, Alecs alibi is he was at the hospital visiting his Dad on his likely deathbed.

There ay have been a "message" of some type left at the crime scene that made it clear it was a targeted killing. Also if there were no signs of theft etc...., it can be deduced that it was a focused crime and not a generalized event that could spill over into the community. That statement is not unusual in such a case.
Bingo.

If something indicates this was a contracted or targeted hit on Paul, they could release such a statement. Mom was just unfortunate to be there at the place/time.

still skeptical that he would have gotten away with that, no matter how powerful
We live in a country where affluenza got someone out of jail. Anything is possible.

The initial prosecution handling of the Arbery case.

This Murdaugh kid didn’t even spend a day in jail, wasn’t breathalyzered.

(I don’t want to believe in this shit either but unfortunately people in leadership positions of power continue to not strive for justice)

I am not convinced that both died from multiple gunshot wounds. I have been involved with a number of murder cases. Often, the initial facts reported by some in the press are incorrect. Stay tuned.
Yep. Everything I hear is that the crime scene was “ugly” and people who know anything about it won’t talk.
