As far as being near the middle, I’m definitely there on social issues, but am right of center for sure on fiscal issues.

Roe v. Wade is the shiny coin being waved to get everyone’s attention. The more pressing issue is a case coming up for decision this month that could expand the powers of the presidential pardon. That’s why there is the rush to get Kavanaugh confirmed.
If this decision goes along party lines, individuals who are pardoned by the president can no longer be charged at the state level, completely hamstringing state DAs. That essentially means Trump can pardon anyone he wants without further retribution.
Planned parenthood did 2.7 million services for birth control last year and over 4 million STD tests. They do a lot of very good things other than abortion. As for their "profits", their President's pay is right in line with other charities of similar size and the charity is intentionally building its fund balance using fundraising, not excess federal funds, to help protect access to services if or when states attempt to cut off funding. Likewise, it is using some of its fund balance to invest in technology to help deliver birth control methods that are longer lasting. The profits are not given to shareholders or to just five or six highly paid executives. In fact, I believe that their President made less than Franklin Graham did in either 2015 or 2016.

Economy is going well, but I think you are giving trump far too much credit for that. The stock market is not a true indicator of economic success, which I suspect you know. We are also spending a trillion plus on the interest payments on our debt to pay for tax cuts that have not significantly benefited the middle class. No plans in sight to change that.

Some people forget a lot of Christians voted more so to keep a liberal out of the Whitehouse and to keep more liberal judges off the Supreme Court. Too many times you have to cast a vote for the lesser of two evils which is a shame. I cant speak for everyone but as a Christian who voted for Trump, I know I am a sinner as is everyone else. Once I took that out of the equation and looked at the liberal vs conservative platforms, it was really a no brainer for me. I had a lot of reservations about voting for Trump but I felt voting for a third party candidate was essentially throwing my vote away. It's kind of like when the Gamecocks play...I am strictly a Clemson fan and was raised a Clemson fan but I will also show support for anyone else who plays the Gamecocks. I dont give a rat's behind about Mizzou, but I was cheering for them yesterday.
