Diesel prices are north of $6 in NJ........just one year ago they were $3.70. I know Tucker haunts your dreams but the diesel issue hasn't changed on the east coast.

Let's just say it was or is a 50% chance we run short on diesel (in reality you should be able to get there based on data, which you can easily research on your own). Do you understand how large of a risk that is, given how many things are driven by or rely on diesel fuel? The average American driver doesn't own a diesel engine car, most makes don't even come with the option of a diesel engine. You picking up what I'm putting down? Let me know if I need to be more granular in how I'm explaining this to you.

I never said I agreed with Tucker, I did saw however that there were low supplies, since you're not capable of doing your own research I've helped you below. Only takes a few missed deliveries, more supply chain woes or Biden to strangle big oil a little bit more to go from low to none.

Lots of factors here but supply/demand a large one, shipping costs another (see rail price increases and yet another attempt to strike) and policy decisions also a factor in pricing for margin. Setting laws that outlaw gas engines by certain years, mandate for percentages of EV' on the road by a certain date, etc means that suppliers are going to raise their prices while they can to ensure revenue and margin targets are met for shareholder returns.

the droughts we're facing in major barge lanes in the internal US riverways is also causing a huge issue with fuel supply logistics. it's also helping drive rail costs up since rail is the 2nd most efficient way to transport fuel internally.
