They go hand in hand in medicine.

This bomb has nothing to do with deep tunnel or bunker complexes. Requires the air fuel mixture for the explosion. Bunker busters would be used for command, control, etc deep penetration - first of its type would be British tall boy Bombs used on the Tirpitz during WW2. MOAB and the predecessor Daisy cutter are for large scale infantry exposed targets. Still one hell of a bomb.

MOAB is not a penetrator weapon and is primarily intended for soft to medium surface targets covering extended areas and targets in a contained environment such as a deep canyon or within a cave system.[

Not sure about the current one but the Vietnam-era one was used to clear jungle for helicopter landings. But like all other such devices, the military came up with other uses for it as well.

ETA: found this in a Foxnews.com article:

"The MOAB is specifically designed for use in missions such as Thursday's. It explodes in the air, which creates air pressure that can make tunnels and other structures collapse. It can be used at the start of an offensive to soften up the enemy, weakening both its infrastructure and morale."

Here's a couple that a poster on the mainboard pointed out the other day that nobody cared to refute.

Campaign Promise 1: To replace Antonin Scalia with a like-minded justice from a list of 20

Campaign Promise 2: To suspend immigration from terror-prone countries

  • Trump has attempted to enact a Travel Ban that is 100% CONSTITUTIONAL AND is made from the seven (six, now) "countries of concern" outlined by the Hussein Administration. This has been blocked by an extremely liberal Hawaiian judge who was appointed by Obama. (The blocking of this travel ban might piss me off more than anything that has happened during his presidency, because judges should be blind to politics, but that is proving to be false.) Hopefully this will go to the Supreme Court and be overturned quickly.
Campaign Promise 3: To defund and crack down on sanctuary cities

  • Trump has implemented a YUGE crackdown on sanctuary cities, threatening to defund them
Campaign Promise 4: To revive the Keystone Pipeline and Dakota Access Pipeline

Campaign Promise 5: To pull the US out of the TPP, an Obama-era trade deal detrimental to the US

  • Trump pulled us out of the TPP which would have been absolutely disastrous for the US
Campaign Promise 6: DONALD TRUMP LOVES WOMEN AND WANTS TO HELP WOMEN!

  • Trump has signed an Executive Orderpromoting women in STEM jobs (careers real feminists strive for, not "dance therapy" feminists)
  • Trump has Launched a Councilempowering female leaders and female entrepreneurs
Campaign Promise 7: To renegotiate, or pull out of Bill Clinton's terrible trade deal, NAFTA

  • Trump met with Justin Trudeau (what a joke) to discuss the tweaking of NAFTA to benefit the US more, after he threatens to leave it
Campaign Promise 8: To undo ridiculous Obama-era federal agency regulations

Campaign Promise 9: To rollback Obama-era regulations on small businesses

  • Trump has rolled back ridiculous Obama-era regulations that have made it nearly impossible for small businesses to hire employees
Campaign Promise 10: To help America's inner-cities deeply in need of rebuilding

  • Trump has signed an Executive Order to give major funding to "Historically Black Colleges and Universities," helping out inner-cities immensely
Campaign Promise 11: To protect our policemen, the true everyday heroes

Campaign Promise 12: To crackdown on illegal immigration and to BUILD A WALL

Campaign Promise 13: To bolster our depleted military

  • Trump has increased our military budgetbecause we don't want to use our military, but want to be prepared to use it
Campaign Promise 14: To enact a five year lobbying ban on government Officials after they leave office

Campaign Promise 15: To crackdown on drug cartels and illegal drugs crossing the border

Campaign Promise 16: To revitalize the dying coal industry in the US

Campaign Promise 17: To create American JOBS and bring companies back to America

  • Trump negotiated a deal with Carrierpromising to bring manufacturing and jobs back to the US.
  • Trump has met with CEOs from huge companies to work on bringing jobs back to America
  • There was an increase of 298,000 jobs in February alone (liberals will say that counts in Obama's fiscal year, but we know the truth)
  • Trump met with Intel CEO who promised $7 Billion investment and over 3,000 high paying (not "shovel ready" bullshit jobs) in America
  • Trump met with the CEO of Softbank who has promised 50,000 more American jobs and has already fulfilled 3,000 of those jobs
  • Kroger has promised over 10,000 new jobsin the era of Trump
  • The month of March yielded 263,000 new jobs, which passes the month's estimated 185,000 Big League
Campaign Promise 18: Pushing NATO allies to pay their fair share or face the reality of the US possibly leaving

  • Trump has put major pressure on the members of NATO to pay their fair and equal share because there are only a handful of countries in NATO who currently pay as much as agreed upon
Campaign Promise 19: To make America energy independent, relieving us from our dependence on foreign entities, such as OPEC

Campaign Promise 20: To enact a hiring freeze on government employees to help stop corruption

  • Trump enacted a hiring freeze to all federal employees, cutting down on the over-bloated bureaucracy
Campaign Promise 21: Trump could be the president that takes us to Mars!

  • Trump signed a Bill allowing NASA funding, including an exploration to Mars
Campaign Promise 22: To undo many of Obama's unconstitutional Executive Orders

Campaign Promise 23: The repeal and replacement of Obamacare. The recent GOP fallout of AHCA Plan was no fault of Trump's. The blame solely belongs to Speaker Ryan. He created a shit bill and couldn't even capitalize to get enough votes. Obamacare will crash in 2017 when individual mandates kick in and Democrats will be to blame. That is when Trump will truly work to Repeal and Replace it with a plan he promised us.

  • Trump got rid of the idiotic penalty in Obamacare that fines you if you choose not to participate in the program
Campaign Promise 24: To "Bomb the shit out of ISIS"

  • He called for a drone strike in Afghanistan killing Qari Yasin, a Pakistani Al-Qaeda leader
Campaign Promise 25: To not take a salary as President

Well done sir. Not a bad start for the first 90 days, especially considering that factions in Congress have tried to delay and stop Trump at every turn.

I agree with this.

But the hard fact that people need to accept is, everyone won't get health care coverage regardless of what you do. There isn't enough to go around. We don't need a rationing system like Canada has.

Agree. Point being if the ridiculous regulations around medicine and insurance that force heatlcare costs up were curtailed, then free market could drive costs down for average joes and tax dollars could go a lot further in subsidizing health care for children, elderly, etc.

There was never a healthcare system to destroy. Until the US gets with the rest of the developed world and implements a single-payer/government-based system, we will continue to be the laughing stock of the world when it comes to healthcare
LOL, yeah, because people are leaving the US daily to go to other countries to get healthcare /sarcasm

Ironically, people did used to go to Canada to get free/cheap healthcare back in the 80's and early 90's when it was first implemented (imagine that, the world did exist before you were born), but as time has passed, they have come to realize there is no escaping the undeniable fact that you get what you pay for. Cheap healthcare is crappy healthcare.

Now, the fine folks of Canada who can afford it, come to the US to pay for quality healthcare, even though it's free for them in their own backyard.

For johnhugh...

From my days at USAFA...

John Stuart Mill

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse…. A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Medical tourism is actually gaining popularity. People leave the US all the time.

I despise Trump and will enjoy watching him get impeached (that is happening by the way). That said, I have no problem with this decision based on what we are hearing. If bombing ISIS out of caves saves the lives of our military men and women, so be it. The timing is a little suspect, considering the story broke today that the FBI has proof of collusion btwn Trump and Russia.

Also...
1) there is no way in hell that amynhop is a brain surgeon
2) it is hilarious how Trumpsters act like Obama never had the balls to bomb anyone (especially those on this board who were pissed that Obama won the nobel peace prize b/c he used drones to kill terrorists)
What kind of ignorant bullshit is this. Obama won the Nobel peace prize before he had done anything. It goes down as quite possibly the dumbest award ever given based on the world we currently live in.

Look another deflection. Fact is, I'm done for the day. Amy, if you're a brain surgeon, I'm sure you know what it's like to work and gather experience before actually becoming a brain surgeon. Would you trust a brain surgeon who hadn't gone to any medical school, and actually only went to undergrad for business? I would assume the answer is no. You're doing the exact same thing except with the highest position of public office in the USA.

If you hated Obama, that's fine. But don't try to act like Trump is some great president. He's not, and he's got a tall mountain to climb.
Nobody is claiming he's great, just that he has a set of balls and we are not going to get pushed around anymore by anybody, anywhere. As to your comment about Trump, at the very least he has managed companies and a small fortune larger than most third world countries, whereas Obama was nothing more than a community organizer in one of the most crooked cities in these United States. In addition, he has put our country in the worst debt situation by nearly doubling it to 20 Trillion dollars while making us a shrinking violet in world affairs.

If you only knew how much the previous administration has handicapped our military and veterans. There are military bases across the US that doesn't have full emergency services available anymore. The VA medical scandal and the loss of manning of of our forces are mind boggling. But you know
1. If the VA is underfunded, where is the money going to come from for a single payer? The US unfunded commitments are already 80 trillion. If we can't fund the VA, SS, or Medicare, how will we fund a single payer system.

2. There is plenty of evidence out there of Canda's health care being rationed. No one should ever use that model as an example.

Just to let you know, there are military installations without full time emergency care for the service members on base. Some have to travel 30 mins to an hour for emergency medical care. This all happened the last 2 years. Fact.

I recently ( 3weeks ago) had an appendectomy because my appendix ruptured. Fort Knox couldn't treat me and had to wait 30 mins for an ambulance from the county hospital 20 miles away.

Upon my arrival to Fort Knox last year, an email was sent out throughout post asking for donations for the VA hospital in Louisville because they didn't have enough pillows, blankets, etc.

That is how the military and veterans were treated by the Obama administration.

Brain surgeons are assumed to be intelligent. You realize War isn't good right? Or is it great since Trump is doing it?

Lecturing a brain surgeon are ye' ?

You do realize that war, while regrettable, "solved" nazism, various instances of ethnic cleansing, etc?

Or maybe you don't because progressives work overtime to eradicate history so as to render the subjects more docile. Or maybe the collectivist narrative is a god that must be set above little things like facts and history?

Also had a Harvard Law degree. A legitimate university, unlike Trump's

And the transcripts say just what? Crickets....

What did the smartest man in the universe need to cleanse from public view?

Certified isn't the same thing as educated. The US taxpayer purchased credentials for this fifth columnist. That neither proves nor disproves education in his case.

His undergrad at Occidental is a much clearer reading on what sort of indoctrination he received from the academy.

@johnhugh Waiting on your reply to @Hovice.

Please look up the tax rates in Spain and France then get back to us.

You are right. Lefty narrative doesn't survive encounters with reality.

. Progs ought to Try living in France as some of us have, and suffering the true downside of healthcare rationing. All those taxes and systemic unemployment buy you a seat at the bureaucratic lottery. And it sucks.

Was reading the radius is 2 miles in all directions from ground zero with 1000 foot wide crater

Now that is the "BOMB" for being non-nuclear

No way an 11 ton bomb creates a 1000 ft crater. Our largest nuke test ever created a 2000 ft crater (74 feet deep). That was 15 megatons (15 million metric tons). The MOAB would take out Times Square. Probably leaves a 75-100 foot crater depending on the type of ground it explodes over.

Very well said. Question... did anyone on Obamas cabinet have any business experience? I don't think so. Do you know? Seems like one reason some people don't understand Trumps style is because they've never run a business. never had to negotiate.

The ones that can afford it do. Meanwhile countries like Spain and France are top 10 in the world in health outcomes while the doctors make good money and the patients don't have to pay thousands. It's actually included in taxes for both of those countries
You are actually comparing countries with 1/7 and 1/5 the population size of the US?

We dropped the Moab plenty of times trying to get bin laden, this is not the first time. wtf is this false reporting?

Moab their poppy fields, they grow and export some of the best heroin everywhere to fund themselves. Cut off their revenue, they can't operate without money.

Two/three and maybe four birds, one stone, reduce the amount of heroin on the streets, save some of our kids, raise the price so fewer would even try and cripple terrorists. I don't care who you affiliate yourself with, that's winning for everyone.

It's really not that hard.

You are right. No negotiations done in Congress... And all those Goldman Sachs guys don't count for Obama, but DO count for Trump, I get it.
