I appreciate that you are a fan of the man. I despise all politicians, so do not get caught up in defending the indefensible. I can appreciate some things he has
talked about - most of his successes, other than judicial, have been executive orders easily changed by the next clown. I also hate some of what he has done. I'll ignore the character issues.
I'm all for whatever it takes to motivate people to go to work. We have entirely too many on 'disability' (whose only disability is a lack of desire). Too many in this country have never served it or paid taxes to support it. Lot of free riders and not all are on welfare/public aid.
Hate that he lead a charge to increase the standard deduction, effectively increasing the portion of the population not paying income taxes. He should have sought to broaden the base and lower the tax rates. Could have provided a similar net savings for those that are still paying taxes. More folks would have skin in the game if they had to pay
something. By increasing the number of free riders, this tax reform package did more long term damage than anything the Dems could have done. The more free riders that exist, the greater the probability that those still paying taxes will get stuck paying exorbitant rates in the future because when more money is DEMANDED from the citizenry, those not paying will inevitably not be asked to start. Taxes stay lower when every voter has to pay them.
Wish he would drop his silly indirect taxation war on the US consumer (sorry
tariff) that is slowing what should be a real booming export economy. Either that, or go all in. Incrementalism in any war, and we are in a trade war, is a fool's errand. In to win, or stay out.
Hate his war on the Fed, that is essentially getting the Fed to create a money bubble to hide bad fiscal and trade policies. This is an indirect tax on the future. Cheap money and poor tax policy is driving the market boom, not productivity. Luckily for him, when country pays dearly for bankrolling this no/low cost money policy, he will be just a memory.
President Bone Spurs fancies himself a brilliant general, but fails to understand anything that a common soldier knows from tactics to principles and honor:
- Talk down the man or his ideas, but never disparage his service (fails at this almost daily);
- Honor sacrifice;
- Always show allegiance to an ally, never leave them in the field of battle;
- Providing aid and comfort to the enemy is an offense against all who serve and our entire country;
- Warriors take pride in having ethics and honor- a soldier that violates either should be disciplined not pardoned;
- Integrity and honesty matter- the higher the rank, the more it matters.
Our 'brilliant general' doesn't appear to know how to build/maintain alliances or fight a war in the adult world. He
IS adept at fighting a war of words on twitter against milk toast politicians and conning those wanting a savior.
